This is such a fun book. It's an easy read, that had me gripped from the beginning. The story is well-paced and is told from the point-of-view of multiple characters, which I did find slightly confusing at the beginning, as I wasn't expecting it, but I got used to it - in the end I feel it added good insight into the other characters and helped in getting to know them better. The character development in this book is excellent, you really feel like you have got to know them well and watch them grow.

I would recommend this story if you are a fan of romance, regency stories and having a good time with the characters!

There are four couples in this story - Annie, Lydia and Jane - all of whom are Emma's clients and Emma herself. They all get their own stories, complete with happy endings.
There's a definite Bridgerton vibe to the Season - even before the Regency ball at the finale. There's even a gossip mag about the people involved in the Season. So if you wanted Bridgerton vibes with Gossip Girl scenarios, this is the perfect book for you.

I requested this book because it has such an interesting premise and it did not disappoint! While it wasn't all sunshine and roses in this story, it was still an engaging read, apart from the multiple sub-plots. Not every side character was interesting to me so I did skim some parts but over all it was a cute read and I enjoyed it!

This book was an absolute joy to read! I loved the modern bridgerton vibes. It was a great rom com with a happy ending for all of the couples.

Each couple was very unique with deep and thought out back stories. I would have to say that Annie and Josh were my favourite.

Such a feel good read that I would highly recommend!

This was a fun read with great premise. Emma Love and her family own a matchmaking agency. Emma’s mother is the queen of the perfect match, and after she retires Emma isn’t sure she can replicate that success in the age of dating apps.
She decides to a Regency style Season where the participants are all single and they meet through a series of parties, including a formal ball at the end. Of course, Emma herself is not involved, of course, until she meets the mysterious Mr. Knight.
The characters are are well done and it’s fun to watch as they try to find the right match. I really enjoyed it, 4 stars.

This was a good romcom that gave me a few laughs along the way.

I love modern retellings of the regency era or books that are contemporary but bring back the regency era feel so I was very excited to dive into this one.

This book was well done with great characters and great chemistry!

This book was utterly sweet. I loved the premise and the slow, gentle way our fair main character slowly drew towards each other. My main quibble though was I didn’t really care about the participants, I found myself skipping the chapters which focused on their love match plots. I also really found myself annoyed by the plot involving the brother; I just saw no chemistry and would’ve rather focused on our A plot with the main couple more. That said I think this is one book to buy and I will get my own copy.

This book was too freakin cute! I was hooked from the very first chapter, and finished it in less than a day.

In my mind, this is not a true rom-com. Especially when I see laugh-out-loud and uplifting. While there were parts of this book that were funny, there were also parts that were on the depressing side. When I'm reading a rom-com that is the last thing I want. Again this is a personal preference of mine and I can see the appeal in the book, but it wasn't what I was expecting.

Emma has recently taken over the family dating business now that her mom has retired. So what does she do? Throw in some Jane Austin that's what. While she has no plans to become romantically involved herself she plans to help her customers find the loves of their lives. Of course, throw in Mr. Knight who seems to always get under Emma's skin and she finds herself wondering why he bothers her so much.

While I did enjoy reading this book it isn't one that I would pick up to read a second time around. Did I find myself laughing at points, yes. Did Ally Sinclair do a great job writing her characters and making you fall in love with them, also yes. This was a wonderful debut novel there were just some aspects I didn't enjoy. I wish that instead of introducing so many character she went into some of the challenges that the characters faced instead.

This was such a fun and delightful read! It was great to escape with these lively and fun characters.

A Season for Love is very much in the territory of Jane Austen, in-fact so much so that it practically delves into the territory of Emma in both character and premise. It has Emma setting up a dating agency so she can play matchmaker professionally and host regency style balls. 

It is witty in places and very much feels like Emma in contemporary times. The best concept in the book is to see whether, what would be considered old-fashioned dating can actually work in today’s modern, high-tech world.

Overall, it is a pleasantly entertaining rom-com.

It is not much of a secret that I like reading happily-ever-afters. They are the ones I take the least amount of time with and leave with a pleasant feeling when I set them down (most of the time). I start with this preface because I want to establish my frequency in this genre.
This particular book had a premise that was interesting to me. A matchmaker who decides to do something different to set up as many people as possible. She has a radar for almost everyone around her but has never been able to find the person for herself.
Usually, I am a fan of multicast narratives, where we have a whole range of people to watch the growth arcs of. In this case, however, there were one too many narratives, and I could not decide on whom to concentrate on since everyone had completely different problems and apart from one or two, most of them did not cross paths at all.
First, we have the matchmaker and her brother. The former is trying to prove to herself and the people around her that she can be as good as her mother at her job, and her brother just wants to contribute properly to the effort. Then we have a trio of teacher friends who have been talked into participating in the season. Each has her own backstory, which comes to light, some faster than others (although they were easy enough to guess).
The writing was simple, but I think I would have better appreciated more time for things to unravel the way they did. The pacing was believable but not as satisfying as I had hoped. I will want to try another of the author's works if I get the chance.

Emma Love is inheriting her parents’ matchmaking business and comes up with a fun idea way to get people meeting up in person. The Season was to be an 8 week sequence of get-togethers like people used to do in the regency period, only better because it is inclusive and not gender-biased. This is definitely something I think today’s single people could really use! And this Season was so successful I’ll be looking forward to reading about the next one! Recommended for British rom-com readers ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Present day Bridgerton! Loved all the different character development throughout the story, the elaborate events and storytelling, and overall pretty much everything. Once the publishing world gave us Bridgerton, I became obsessed with this trope in romance books. Alas, this Jane Austen inspired romance novel! The only negative was the sheer amount of POVs. I have a hard time following two, but this one had many! In the end, I enjoyed the premise of the story and would read another by Ally Sinclair!

Pretty good. A little of by the numbers, but that may be because I read quite a few of this genre. A worth entry, none the less.

I thought this book was so cute. It was really enjoyable. There was times where I thought it was funny but otherwise it was a good read. I will definitely recommend this one

This modern retelling of Emma was a cute, fun read. I don't think it's my favourite retelling, but I enjoyed Emma's spunky personality and trying to guess how the story would play out.

Emma Love is a matchmaker that is taking over her mothers business.

She creates an 8 week event that takes place over summer where singles can meet and court each other like it is in the early 1800's.

With the help of her stepbrother Josh she is able to start the event, and are looking for suitable prospects.

We see 3 friends that are all school teachers.

Annie Lydia and Jane, we follow them in search for love.

We watch them look for love in the style of glamorous events and balls where they all get to know each other.

This was an easy and good read.

Full with funny moments.

I really loved this take on modern love matching.
