Caillou Another great adventure, a really enjoyable read about family and friends and that you are never alone and can work though any situation.
Thank you for the chance to read and review
My Granddaughter loved Caillou when she was younger so to be nostalgic I read this book. It’s a cute story of showing how important family is. The illustrations were very colorful and sure to appeal to children.
Caillou: The Silver Knight is a fantastic addition to the Caillou book collection. Caillou is disappointed that he can't pay with his friend, but daddy has a story to tell that is entertaining to read about and also teaches a valuable lesson. If you love Caillou, this is one book that you will want to try!
It is an adapted comic version of a TV show. This is a good story on make children learn on how to be happy within their family. It tells them to find their friends in their family and do not hope from other to be you all the time like your family members do. Usually we tend to make friends and hope to spend time with them but when they couldn't spare that time we need, we got disappointed and eventually depressed. So, we must always try to engage with our family first.
Also, it gives a learning to parents to be with their children as a friends in addition to their prime responsibility of being their whole & sole guardians. This reflects on the family ties being more important than societal ones. After-all, if it is a good one, then blood always speaks better and well than complete society.
Story is fun but average but as it is moral giving so I do not complain on the content as context is much better.
This was a sweet little story about Caillou who wanted to play pretend he was a knight. His Father told him a story about knights and dragons.
The Royal family have lost their sheep to a dragon in a castle and they need them to make the King a woolly hat, he’s so cold! The little Knight embarks upon a journey to save the stolen sheep.
This was funny in places and my little ones laughed out loud when Caillou face planted the wall. In the end, the little Knight needed the help of his family to fulfill his quest - a nice little message to little readers.
The illustrations were vivid and bright, Caillou is very cute. It kept the interest of my 4 and 6 year old and it was a pleasure to read.
My daughter loves Caillou and has loads of the books so when I was given the chance to read an ARC of this book I jumped at it. Needless to say it did not disappoint. My daughter absolutely loved it and cannot get enough of it.
Great kids book. My 6 year old son loved the illustrations. We will recommend this book to all young kids in the K-2 age range. The story was easy to follow.
Thank you for the copy, this is my honest opinion.
I admittedly don't always love when my children check out "character" books from the library; they are often not very well written and hard for kids to follow. Caillou books seem to be an exception though! This story was cute and I loved the focus on the importance of family. I tell my kid all the time that they are each other's built in best friends, so I enjoyed seeing a similar message relayed in this book. I don't necessarily know that Caillou "needed" an updated look, but the new illustrations do look more modern.
A lovely family story, the pictures really brought it alive and it was a cute message behind it. My daughter loved reading it and her favourite part was the cat-apulte
Caillou: The Silver Knight is a great addition to the Caillou universe. With a new 3D look, follow Caillou, Mommy, Daddy and Rosie as they play pretend. The Caillou stories have always used imagination to learn and this story teaches the importance of family. It’s a fun story that is a little silly where children will like it, but also great for even giving Rosie a typically male role.
Having heard many a Caillou episode, I did read the story in the different voices of the show.
The new look is different, but definitely can tell who everyone is. Love the updated idea of using a tablet to talk to friends.
It’s a fun Caillou story that can be used at home or in a classroom.
Based on the popular children's series, Caillou, this picture book is sure to be familiar and appeal to young children. Well written and with interesting pictures, it is a nice choice for families looking to bridge the tv series to picture books for their child. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for giving me the chance to check out this book.
Join Caillou as he listens to a tale from his Dad about a very brave Knight.
What a fun adventure you’re taken on in this story with a full cast of exciting and interesting characters.
The illustrations are bright and colourful with an almost dream like quality.
This is one that is sure to become a family favourite.
Caillou was my favourite show when I was kid, and I was surprised to see it's been remade with a new look to it. I personally prefer the original illustration style to the new 3D look to it, but it still has the same essence of the characters. The story itself is really sweet, and in typical Caillou fashion, contains many messages for little readers, from dealing unexpected changes in plans, to having fun with your family.
Caillou was my son’s favorite show growing up, so when I saw this book for review I had to check it out.
The illustrations are great, completely bringing the cute story to life. I enjoyed seeing Caillou’s sweet personality, in a new story. Once again the writer brings a great story to life with a meaningful message. I can’t wait to purchase this for my grandchildren. The book is about 20 pages which is the perfect length to keep younger children interested, and still please a little older child. The story itself is heartfelt and sweet, teaching multiple lessons including not to judge a book by its cover, although you could judge this as an enjoyable read.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with this book in exchange for my review! All opinions are my own.
I am 25 and I grew up watching Caillou on PBS Kids, so I was surprised to see he is still popular today. I think I watched Caillou from the age of 4-7 maybe. It was not the CGI style that the illustrations in this book are designed like. People can say what they want about Caillou but I thought this was a perfectly acceptable children's book. It was fun and entertaining. Perhaps more boys would like this than little girls but I am not sure. It was a good adventure.

I loved this adorable book thank you so much for letting me have an Arc to this book. My child adored it so much !
My little one is obsessed with all things caillou and really enjoyed this fun read about knights and dragons
My 3 year old LOVES watching Caillou so I knew he would love reading this one. I wasn't surprised when we had to read it over and over again! I definitely recommend this one if you have kiddos, and especially if they are obsessed with the show too!
A little too twee and basic, perhaps, but there's nothing at all objectionable about this story. Based on some animated series I've never heard of, it's about a kid whose best friend can't turn up through illness, so is diverted instead by his father's story, of a knight (looking suspiciously like said kid) and a mission to get sheep back from a local dragon. It's about family and cooperation, don't'cha know. It's naff in things just appearing and disappearing as the story demands, in the way of many a mediocre cartoon, but it's presented quite well and the story isn't that hammered into the reader. Three and a half stars.
This was my first Caillou book in about 15 years. I expected something short, easy to read, and drawings. I definitely got more than I thought I was getting.
In this book Caillou is having a friend over. The friend ends up calling saying they can't make it. This leads to a story of Caillou turning into a knight. Who has to save the town sheep from the big mean dragon.
It isn’t until some sharing, and problem solving. Does Caillou, the King, Queen, and the Princess learn, just because the dragon looks big, mean, and scary. That he may actually just be looking for a friend to play with.
I liked that this story was both short, and colorful. Yet still had some good learning/ teachings in this tell. The computer drawings were truly top of the line. This was a book that was easy for both a mid-day break. Or that extra little bedtime book. Where you feel like your little one needs a little more. But you don’t have a lot left.
If your young one likes princesses and knights, or big scary looking dragons. Then you should snag a copy of “Caillou: The Silver Knight”.
