This is such a sweet book, my grandchildren loved Caillou on TV when they were a little younger and this is great for little ones with friendly relatable illustrations. Even the dragon is cute! The message is easily understandable and could generate discussion no matter the age of the listener or reader. My only bugbear is that they play checkers when in the UK it is more commonly known as draughts.
I was able to read an advanced copy of this book thanks to NetGalley and the publishers but the opinions expressed are my own. I would happily add this book to my grandchildren's book collection. Recommended age up to 6 or 7 years.
My 3 year old and I really enjoyed Calliou: The Silver Knight. I’d much rather read Calliou than watch so this was really appreciated. The illustrations are great and detailed.
This book is just like the TV show! It has a cute story. There is some figurative language that could be good for kids to notice.
I don't know about the show and I didn't know it was an adaptation before reading this. But I guess this is fun, even for the children who haven't watched the show yet.
Caillou: The Silver Knight was cute and fun. My 3 and 5 year old boys have both watched the television show Caillou so they were excited for this book. In this one, Caillou's friend Sarah is sick and can't come over to play. When he's disappointed, his dad tells him a story about the Silver Knight. He learns a lesson through the story that he's not alone and always has his family. The illustration was excellent. This would be a great book for new readers.
Thank you to NetGalley and Chouette Publishing for allowing me to be an early reader. All opinions are my own.
In our house we love watching Caillou! I read this to my 5 year old daughter at bed time and she absolutely loved it. Such a good message that you don’t have to do things alone and you can count on others, especially your family, to help you overcome challenges!
Thank you NetGalley, the author and the publisher for my ARC!
