As always, JP delivers! This series is one of my all time favourites and although this is book 23, it's no less exciting and so easy to race through! Looking forward to book 24
I like this combination of James Patterson and Maxine Paetro. Excellent storyline and interesting characters. I would recommend.
Gripping opening to the book which made it incredibly hard to put it down and a great follow up in the Woman's Murder Club but could also be read as a stand alone as it provides enough information to read itself.
Another great WMC book from Patterson, Boxer is one of my favourite characters and the plot was fast paced enough to hold my interest.
It was a bit touch and go for Cindy, who sometimes annoys me and is my least favourite out of the quad but the storyline was tense and exciting.
Can’t wait for the next instalment!
I really enjoy this series from #jamesoatterson. In this 23rd instalment, Lindsay is on the case of a copy cat killer. She put serial killer Evan Burke behind bars (in book 21) but now a new killer has recreated Burke's most infamous crimes - and disappeared without a trace. The case deepens when the copy cat takes Lindsey’s friend Cindy hostage. Can Lindsey solve the case and save her friend?
This was quite a tense instalment of the series, as JP has killed off a member of the Women’s Murder Club before so I wasn’t sure if Cindy would survive or not! I would say you really need to read these books in publication order because this 23rd one really harks back to book 21 and if you hadn’t read both, I think you’d be confused.
I reach for this series when I want a gripping but undemanding read. many thanks to @netgalley for giving me a free review copy in exchange for an honest review. Apologies it took me so long to read it!
I can’t believe, after 18 months of slowly dipping in and out of this series, I am now up to date, with just the newest hardback release of book 24 to read. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this long running series and I’ll definitely try another of JP’s series’ off the back of enjoying this one.
I recommend these books!

Is an obsessed fan using Cindy’s book on serial killer Evan Burke to recreate Burke’s crimes. I have loved all the Murder Club books and this one is no exception
An interesting and compelling thriller that kept me guessing right until the end. I didn't know what to think, who to trust or how to feel
The story itself is very good, but I found the writing really lacked suspense and those hold your breath moments.
Also the characters are very superficial, I did not feel for any of them.
All in all though still a good read.
Thank you to NetGalley and Random House UK for letting me review this book.
Another book in the women’s murder club series
Another great book at that
Can’t wait for the next book in the series
They just keep getting better and better
Thanks NetGalley
Lindsay Boxer is happy to support friend Cindy when she launches her true crime book about the serial killer Lindsay apprehended. But when copycat deaths occur in the vicinity of Cindy’s book signings, concerns are raised. Is there a new killer out for revenge?
23rd Midnight is the latest in James Patterson’s Women’s Murder Club series. As expected, it’s a high octane thriller, with action and excitement on every page. Somehow, Patterson manages to keep the characters as fresh and entertaining as in the first story, and with an exciting plot line, this is another masterpiece.
Would thoroughly recommend to all fans of thrillers.
My review:⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is a follow on from the story in the previous books, with serial killer Evan Burke back in the spotlight.
Cindy is on a book tour, promoting her book written about Burke, and something is happening on the tour.
It's an enjoyable thriller, with lots of action.
I'm still happy to read these books, I've liked the continuing of the story with the same characters.
The 23rd Midnight is the latest entry in the Women’s Murder Club. While Detective Lindsay Boxer put serial killer Evan Burke in jail, reporter Cindy Thomas wrote a book about his crimes. But now it seems that a copycat murderer is recreating murders by Burke and Lindsay, together with her partner Rich Conklin, must work quickly to track the suspect down as he moves frighteningly closer to the friends. You will of course also meet up again with Claire, the chief medical examiner, who is tasked to work the case and Yuki, a prosecutor, who is working on a domestic abuse trial. The parts where the ladies met were still my favourite!
Yet another cracking story for "The Women's Murder Club" girls.. Again this one didn't disappoint me with well thought out plotlines and twists.
Thanks to the publishers and Netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for a review.
You can't really go wrong with a James Patterson book. Recommended.
Another excellent book from James Patterson! Full of twists and turns throughout, you'll definitely not be disappointed.
I was a bit nervous to read this book as I’ve struggled with some of the newer books in this series. However, I really liked this one. Although the storyline wasn’t as interesting as some of the previous ones, it kept me hooked, and I was intrigued to know how it was going to end. But I do feel like maybe this series should end soon, as the storylines are becoming repetitive, and not as tense as the ones earlier on in the series. I will always love these characters as they’re fun to read about and very likeable. However, the storyline is just as important. James Patterson’s books are always easy to read, and I got through this one quickly. I do recommend this series, but I did like the earlier books more.
This one had me on the edge of my seat the whole way through! I love this series and the characters, I can’t get enough of them. The fact that this one involved one of their own made it all the more thrilling, emotionally charged and I was here for all of it!
I would recommend this series to everyone as it’s got so much to offer. The short chapters and the background stories of all the main characters are a massive plus for me. Just brilliant.
Superb writing from this author, a very eye catching cover, this book will go far, 5 stars. Blindingly excellent ... These books should come with a disclaimer as once you start reading you aren’t going to want to walk away.
This James Patterson novel does what it says on the tin! The members of the Women's Murder Club are back and this book can be read alone if you have not read one of this series before. From the start, there are gruesome murders and as the story unfolds, links are made and puzzles gradually solved. These are easy to read thrillers and ideal for a beach or airport read. Thank you Netgalley for letting me read and review this book.
