A multilayered story that has many disturbing parts. However the story create quite an impact and the past and present as merged together in such a way that only Karin Slaughter can do
I did not realise that this was a part of the Will Trent series but luckily there was enough information to read this as a stand alone book. I found it slightly repetitive but still it kept me hooked and I had to finish it quite quickly! Very good story .. a must read indeed!
I am a fan of Karin Slaughter but had not read any of the books from this series before. I feel like I have definitely been missing out and will be looking to rectify this as soon as possible! A gripping and fast paced book, this had me speeding through and I devoured it in a weekend. Another hit from Karin Slaughter.
Karin Slaughter is one of my favourite authors.
Once again she has blown me away.
This book tattles an important topic. Rape and especially rape culture. This could be a difficult read for some so I definitely think people should look up content warnings.
The writing style is fast paced but with a lot happening. There's never a moment where the story drags. Instead I'm left constantly trying to piece everything together but even then I'm surprised by the final reveals.
This story kept me on the edge of my seat while also mad and disgusted at how the world is. Especially towards victims of assault.
Firstly I didn't realise this was part of a series when I chose it, but I have to say that Karin gives enough back story and information that I did not miss the previous books, having said that I am going back to read the rest in the series now, as I'm hooked after reading this one.
What a well written, great story. It is obviously a difficult topic and lots of horrific things happening, but handled with delicacy and grace and Karin sprinkles great characters with some fab humour to stop the book from feeling to dark or overwhelming.
Thank you HarperCollins and Netgalley.
Karin is in my top 10 of authors and is quickly moving up the list.
I have absolutely love this series and this was the most gripping book so far.
Amazing plot, characters and you if you haven't read this series you must.
Highly recommend.
Another great thriller from Karin Slaughter. When Dani arrives at the hospital and dies in Sara Linton's arms Sara makes a promise to find out who was responsible for what happened to her. We weave through many webs to find out who is at the bottom of it all. It kept me hooked from start to finish.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for an advanced digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Love reading the Will Trent series and this one didn't disappoint. Sara Linton was raped 15 years ago. One night when she is working in the ER, a young lady comes in who has also been raped and soon passes away. Before she dies, Sara made a promise to help catch her attacker. Little does she know that this killer may also have links to her own past. A great read as always.
Another great book by Karin Slaughter. She keeps the storyline and the characters alive, always giving us more of their life stories, while still keeping us interested in the series, and also giving us plenty of twists and turns to keep us guessing until the end of the story. This book did not disappoint.
I love Karin Slaughters Will Trent Book Series and had forgotten about it but what a listen to get me back into it. This is a whirlwind storyline that never takes its foot off the throttle from beginning to end. I love Amanda, Will, Sara and Faith and the dynamic between them but Slaughter really knows how to write truly deplorable characters that make your skin crawl. This one deals with a tough subject matter but it plays out so well. It’s a well developed and thought out storyline and there’s never a dull moment. This is my first of this series on audio and at times I felt the narration didn’t quite suit the characters but that’s more to do with an impression I had built up in my head from reading rather then listening. It’s a great read on audio and it really came alive. This is definitely one for your TBR pile as each instalment just gets better and better.
Thanks to Netgalley and Harper Collins UK for the opportunity to read and review #AfterThatNight
Another fantastic book. Just as you'd expect from this author, the plot and pacing were both perfect. I flew through the pages at lightning speed. Another five star read.
Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the ARC.
Karin's books are always a great read with lots of twists and turns throughout the book. This one had me gripped as usual, I couldn't put it down.
I read this book in one sitting, I was so engrossed within it. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough, I just needed to know what happened next. This book shook me to my core, and I felt was hella spooky, especially with those twists and turns!
This is book number 11 in the Will Trent series. I'd really like to read them all in order at some point but despite having not caught up with the series I read this quite easily as a standalone.
Slaughter has produced another intriguing and gripping tale centering around the very emotive subject of rape. I found the idea of the 'rape club' very hard to get my head around but it really did make for an original and emotional storyline.
The shady characters created by Slaughter are well developed and as the reader you really feel like you are under their skin such is the brilliant writing which is what you'd expect if you'd read her previous works.
I thought the way the story ended and wrapped up was fantastic and how it closed with Will and Sara bought a tear to my eye.
Can't wait for the next instalment!
I wasn't so sure about the last Will Trent book but this was back on track. Another great book by Karin Slaughter!
This is book number 11 in the Will Trent series and although it can be read as a standalone I recommend reading the previous books in the series to get the back story.
In After That Night, Will and Faith decide to go rogue and investigate a case without police authorization after a rape victim dies under Sara's care and asks Sara to make sure her rapist is caught.
Usually a series starts to suffer after so many books but this series just gets better and better and this one is probably the best so far. With a complex plot and cast of well written characters it is a gripping read that I had trouble putting down.
I am already looking forward to book number 12!
Wow hooked from first page your so draw into the plot I couldn't put I'm down read it 2 days characters were deep some I like them did did not a very full om plot very gripping read
Thanks to netgalley for providing an advanced copy for the purpose of review.
I love this series and have been reading these books for a long time. I always eagerly await the next installment and it didn't disappoint. Full of the trademark great writing and enthralling storytelling. Highly recommend.
Another cracking and electrifying read from the total Kween of thriller writers. Who doesn't cancel everything when a Will Trent book is released? Absolutely did not disappoint - thanks Ms Slaughter.
I adore Karin slaughter books and look forward to reading each new story or series and this one did not disappoint. A descriptive story that draws you in and will make you not want to put it down! Fabulous as always
