After That Night

Absolutely love this series and this was one of the most gripping so far. Brilliant plot amazing characters and everyone needs to read the whole series it’s amazing.

After That Night tells the story ofWill Trent's partner, Sara Linton. She is medical examiner who gives evidence in a criminal trial that brings her memories from an attack she suffered 15 years ago. Sara starts to see similarities between both cases, and believes they could be linked. Is she making it all up in her head to find closure or is there a serial killer on the loose?

Karin Slaughter has done it again, this has to be one of the most gripping stories to date. I love her novels, they keep getting better and better, and the Will & Sara formula works so well. I love that they have their own storyline but at the same time, all novels can be read as standalone stories. Karin is a genius!!

This book contains heavy themes and can be absolutely terrifying at some points.

I could not love Sara Linton or Will Trent (or Faith or Amanda) more. With every new book Karin outdoes herself with the complexity of the plot, the pace, the intrigue and the drama. And because the characters are so brilliant, and the cases are often so personal - this one even more than most - there is always such a palpable sense of jeopardy that I spend most of the book with my heart in my throat.

After That Night deals unflinchingly with some incredibly dark and devastating crimes, and the detail and clarity with which Karin explores them makes it hard to read sometimes, but always makes for a realistic, compelling plot where you care deeply about the victims.

This is one of Karin’s best books yet, it is SO gripping, and I don’t think I could have been more shocked by the conclusion. Every scene with Will in (I love him) and especially Will and Sara together makes me happy - and usually also scared. I finished it wanting to go back and read the entire series again from the start, and also wanting to write to Karin and make her promise never to kill off Will, Sara or Faith. I care so much about these characters and am already desperate for the next book in the series.

Hooked from the very first chapter!

I was so pleased to be approved for this ARC, and I was not disappointed. Having read all the previous novels in the Will Trent and Sara Linton series, I’d been eagerly awaiting this book. It is full of intrigue and suspense, twists and turns. It can also be enjoyed as a stand-alone if readers haven’t read the preceding novels.

There was one final twist at the end that I keep thinking about since finishing the book; it really shocked me and has left me with many questions.

A highly recommended read.
