I loved this book, and I am currently watching the corresponding tv show at the moment on My 5 too, which I am enjoying.

The story is about a woman who has brought her boyfriend to meet her parents, and her father Ed feels uneasy when he meets him. He thinks there is something weird about him, and he does not really like him. He gives him a chance, but as time goes on, he knows there is something wrong, and he sets out to find out more about him. He knows that the boyfriend is pretending to be something he is not, but will he be able to expose him on time, so that his daughter doesn't get hurt?

This is a great thriller, with a wonderful audiobook narration, and I recommend it highly!

Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book.

Unfortunately this book wasn't for me. Curiousity won out and I continued to listen to it, but the plot was a little predictable and if I'm completely honest didn't really make sense.
I understand a father's need to look out for his children. In this case, he went stalker mood, nearly losing his job and for what? A random look Ryan gave him, that he didn't like? Ed seems like a man with money, could be hire a PI?

I will admit the writing was excellent and I will definitely keep an eye out for other books written by T.M. Logan

“ No one actually knows anyone do they, not really. They think they know, or they know what the other person is willing to show them, but they don’t truly know them. It's impossible. The only person you can truly know is yourself.” This has never been so true than it is in The Catch. A façade can hide many things. Some things may be hidden so deep, not even the most insightful person can see beneath the surface. The three Ds, deception, disposal, and denial are critical, in this tale of betrayal. This thriller is intense with a constant sense of foreboding. The narrator expertly brought the story to life, adding a layer of intrigue and high anxiety. Thank you, NetGalley and Bonnier UK Audio for my audiobook. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A father not sure about his daughter's fiance starts this intriguing thriller with plenty of twists and turns along the way that keeps you listening. Well drawn characters and pacing. The narrator does an excellent job reading this book.

I was keen to read/listen to this book again (having read it a few years ago having recently watched The Catch on TV. The TV show definitely wasn't true to the story and had a very different and much slower vibe, but the book is sooo much better.

Abbie introduces her latest boyfriend Ryan to her family and announces that they will soon be getting married. He seems perfect, but Abbie's Dad doesn't think so and goes to every length to try and find out the truth about Ryan. But is there even a problem? No-one else agrees with him and soon they all think that Ed is the crazy one as he just wont give up on the fact that Ryan is just not the man for his daughter. Is he just an over-protective father (like with Abbie's previous boyfriend) or is there something more to it?

A super thriller narrated perfectly by Philip Stevens that just keeps you on the edge of your seat

A big thank you to Bonnier UK Audio, Zaffre for the opportunity to listen to this audiobook.

I read this book as a physical copy and found myself glued to it. The audiobook really bought the story alive and although i knew the outcome and what was happening next i still felt the suspense and tension.
The book was dark, twisty and keeps you guessing right to the very end.

This was my first T.M. Logan and after hearing so many rave reviews, I can see why. I loved it! I feel this is best going in blind and not knowing too much. All I can say, is its unputdownable. A twisty and thrilling plot that left me utterly reeling. I cannot wait to read The Mother Next.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a #gifted advanced reading copy.

My 2nd book by T.M Logan, this time as an audiobook, and he's definitely becoming an auto-buy author for me.

In this thriller we're introduced to Ed, his wife Claire, daughter Abbie and her relatively new boyfriend Ryan. Abbie has been dating Ryan for 9 months and upon introducing Ryan to her parents tells them her and Ryan are not only moving in together, but getting married a few short months later. Ed dotes on Abbie and has a gut feeling that Ryan is a bad egg. So he starts investigating him. Ed follows him around, tracks his car, and even hires a PI. Then it all kicks off!

T.M Logan is absolutely brilliant at writing about seemingly normal, down to earth people who hit a bump in life and lose their head. He's a fabulous writer who keeps a steady pace throughout this enjoyable story.

The audio book is narrated by Philip Stevens, and a fab job he does too. I've never been a fan of audio books. I am ashamed to say I either fall asleep, or my brain switches off and I have no clue what's going on. Philip kept me alert and switched on for over 10 hours of listening!! Bravo to him.

Well worth a read on this one.

This book was great! A little predictable in plot, and slow in some places. While more could have been done with the ending revelations, it's a decent standard thriller that does the job well. Listening to this as an audiobook was a great experience, the narrator does a great job and any slower lulls of the storytelling were easily managed as background narration while I was out and about.

Really enjoyed this Audio book
Doting Dad Ed has never really liked any of his daughter Abbie's boyfriends and he has been right they have all cheated on her at some point so when Abbie brings home Ryan and announces their engagement Ed is not impressed with Ryan too but Ryan is different from the others a real catch
Is Ed right or is his paranoia justified
Lots of twists and turns and its set in Nottingham where I live so a lot of references regarding places I know
Thanks to Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to listen to this book

When Ed Collier gets to meet his daughters new boyfriend he has the feeling that something is "off" about him. The boyfriend, Ryan, seems to be perfect; but is he too perfect? Ed's wife, Claire, and daughter, Abbie, think he's over-reacting. Ed has always been over-protective towards Abbie since the death of his young son, a death he feels responsible for. Unable to shake the nagging feeling that Ryan is bad news, Ed starts to dig into his background and his life begins to spin out of control.

I've recently read and enjoyed a couple of T. M. Logan's novels, so when I got the chance to review the audiobook of The Catch I jumped at the chance.

The Catch works brilliantly as an audiobook, you are immediately drawn in to the game of cat and mouse as Ed tries to discover why he's taken an instant dislike to Ryan. There's isn't a wasted second in the whole book thanks to the fantastic writing of T. M. Logan and the excellent narrator, Philip Stevens.

You are immediately sympathetic towards Ed, a protective father, and the empathy grows stronger as you learn about the tragedy which haunts the family. This is compound by the timescale of events which take place. The family are meeting the boyfriend of approximately eight months for the first time, then Abbie and Ryan announce they are engaged and plan to marry in a few weeks time.

As Ed begins to look into Ryan's background his life begins to spiral out of control. He becomes obsessed, convinced Ryan is hiding secrets. The problem is that no matter what Ed does, Ryan always seems to be one step ahead, always has a plausible excuse for anything Ed uncovers. The game of cat and mouse is gripping and leads to shocking events. I really was disappointed when I got to the end of the audiobook.

The Catch By T M Logan
Audio/Paperback.

I have recently started listening to more audio books. I have the paperback edition of this book and was thrilled when i saw the audio book available.
I could read and then listen when i wasn't able to read.
I'm loving the option of reading and listening. especially when a book is as good as this is. I was able to continue the book when on my commute to work or while ironing.

The narrator of the book had everything just right, the change in voices, the suspense the narrator made this experience of the book more exciting. Each time something new was revealed the suspense was immense. This book has twists and turns a plenty. It was truly an enthralling read.

Ed is like most other Fathers. Very protective of his little girl, even though his little girl is now a grown woman. When Abbie announces she is getting married, Ed just can not cope. He does not like here husband to be. He knows there is something not right with Ryan, her future husband. Yet no one wants to listen to him. Not Abbie or his wife Clare.
Ed is besides himself and his behavior becomes obsessive towards Ryan. He begins to delve into anything he can regarding Ryan, he is determined to find what it is about this man that he does not trust.

This book was full of twists, the author has done a first class job with the suspense which at times has your heart pounding.

Lies, deceit, secrets, suspense, fear..... this book has it all. I can fully recommend this read.

The Catch is my second thriller from T. M. Logan. It’s been on my netgalley queue for quite a while however I noticed it in and Audible sale so decided to download the audiobook and have a listen.

The story follows main character Ed and his family - his wife, daughter Abbie and her boyfriend Ryan. Ed has a bad feeling about Ryan, and his suspicion mounts with the announcement of their engagement and impending, too soon, nuptials.

Ed turns into a bit of an amateur detective and gets himself into a bit of bother along the way but instinct does know best! I would say the latter half of the book definitely picks up pace and although I’d sort of sussed out what was going on just before the end it was still a very dark and twisted thriller!

The narrator was excellent throughout and I really enjoyed the audiobook of this novel.

I’m a huge fan of T.M. Logan’s books and have devoured them all. This one I’ve got mixed feelings about. It was a real slow burner and felt like it really dragged in places. In terms of storylines it’s not that different to others I’ve read. I found it a little predictable and the build up was a little underwhelming. I did like the characters and really felt for Ed. The narrator was engaging and kept my interest. It was an ok listen but wouldn’t be one of my favourites.

Thanks to Netgalley and Bonner UK Audio for the opportunity to listen to #TheCatch

This was an enjoyable read. Short chapters get you into the story so quickly. I adored the overprotective dad POV. Definitely something you don’t see that often and it was really entertaining! It was a bit of a slow burn and I felt like more could have happened throughout the book.

I listened to this one obsessively. It was absolutely compelling and kept me guessing all the way through. Suspenseful is an understatement. T.M Logan knows how to grab his readers and not let go until the very end. Abby gets engaged and married very quickly to Ryan, the perfect son-in-law. He’s well-educated, has a great job and is compassionate, kind and well-mannered. Except there’s something about him that Abby’s dad, Ed, distrusts. And Ed is very protective over his only child. Exceedingly well-written and plotted, and brilliantly narrated, this thriller kept me on tenterhooks as I changed my mind time and time again about what was really going on.
