This is such a nice, fun, light read with the perfect balance of deeper, darker aspects of life touching on the heavier aspects of dealing with weight, self-consciousness, loneliness, relationships and grief whilst also being uplifting and heart warming with incredibly well written characters. I loved the depth of each character and how although they each had their own demons they found this beautiful friendship and other things in their life that added positivity. This book was really uplifting and I loved listening and laughing to it. I will definitely be checking out more of Lucy Diamond's books as they seem perfect for a reading slump or a good pick me up with strong, diverse female leads.
I was lucky enough to receive a copy of the audiobook of Sweet Temptation from Bolinda Audio on Netgalley, for an honest review.
This was actually my first Lucy Diamond book, and I'm very interested in reading more! This was a feel good novel based on strong women and friendship.
It focussed on three women, Maddie, Jess, and Lauren, who didn't know each other at the beginning of the book. They all went to a weight-loss club, Fat Busters, for different reasons, and ended up becoming friends. Each chapter follows one of the three women as we learn about their lives and how they navigate them and their individual weight-loss journies. As time goes on, the friendship between the three women becomes stronger and they all stand by each other through all their issues and problems.
It ends up being a feel good story as all the women realise their own self worth and fight for what they deserve professionally and personally.
I particularly enioyed the audio of this - the narrator, Kate Rawson, did a fantastic job! It could have been tough to figure out which character each chapter was about but I felt that it was relatively easy to work out. The narrator has a lovely calm voice, and was also particularly good at doing all the different accents. I would love to listen to her again!
I really enjoyed this book - many thanks to everyone for the copy of the audiobook!
Really enjoyed this. Easy listening, heart warming chick lit with fabulous characters and enjoyed the narration.

This is definitely a book about girl power and it's uplifting in places but has some parts which might be triggering for some.
Jess, Maddie and Lauren all have their own reasons to be at the fat fighters meeting where they met and the book tells their stories with humour and realism but some of the situations were hard to believe., also the situation with Jess was difficult to hear and her outcome seemed a bit unrealistic but I suppose could happen.
It's hard to review it without giving away any of the plot but I would still have listened to it had I seen any spoilers. Speaking of which mild *SPOILER below so that I can comment on the part of the book that let it down in my opinion.
*The section of the book which touched on medicine was a bit weak with some unrealistic happenings. A person who has been described as being in her 50s (unless I heard the age wrong but would fit with the time line) when taken ill was told they might not be eligible for medical treatment due to age! Really? I found that insulting and not what would happen even in a much older person. It would have been better left as being too unwell.. Also a person who is having active chemo (not palliative) being put in a hospice doesn't ring true.
I am glad I listened to this, it was an enjoyable read other than the niggles above.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for the copy
Aw, this was brilliant!
First off, let me just say that if you can get your hand on the audiobook, it is totally worth it! <3
This is a great story. It is really three stories told by three women, and it all comes together in a uplifting and empowering statement to all women - You got this; You can do it; and most importantly stand up for yourself and DO NOT SETTLE for anything less than you deserve!
I love Maddie, Jess and Lauren and the friendship they build in the midst of all shi.. happening around them...
I really want to read it again already...
I wasn't done with the girls!
The slogan for this book could not be more accurate.
I love lucy diamond and this book was no exception. The story was really brought to life by the narrator who I love listening to. She hit every emotion of the story and you could really differentiate between each of the characters and made the story flow so much.
The story was everything you would expect from Lucy it was real, honest, relatable story which really hit home. Hated Charlie though which shows how well it was written
I got a free audio arc from Netgalley all opinions are my own.
I like this book, the plot was nice, the characters weren't bad either. But I kind of got lost as to which POV I was at. All the narrations sounded the same to me. Eventhough the narrator did change their accent depending on which POV we were at. I did like the narrators voice. And it was easy listening to this book and getting into it.
I liked seeing the characters growth and their friendship.
The book has a happy ending for the main characters which I enjoyed.
I wouldn't mind listening to this book again.
This book captured me! I enjoyed getting to know Lauren, Maddy and Jess, who were all fab characters. You really rallied behind them and I was with them all the way, following in both their fitness journeys and personal lives. It did hook and there is no way you can start it and leave it half way through!
The narrator was also fab. She gave spirit and personality to each of the characters and it made for effortless listening. It was so easy to loose yourself in the story and zone out of the world for a bit.
There are a few fairly hard hitting themes though, of weight loss, terminal illness, fat language & eating disorders and domestic abuse but there is a major sense of overcoming and strength in this that really inspires. The friendships, the looking within to beat their challenges made for great reading. I always looked forward to returning to this!
A fabulous narrator…… This has an interesting cast of characters that carry the story along a nice pace and create depth to the story. Great plot and I found myself filling an afternoon listening to this in one sitting as I found it so enjoyable. Thank you to Netgalley, the author and publisher for an advanced copy of the book in exchange for an honest , unbiased review. 4 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was a very entertaining audiobook, one which was easy to pick up and put down as required. A heartwarming tale of ladies who form a friendship group while losing weight, the book explored their friendships, progress and lives and loves. It did take me a few minutes to tune into the narrator’s accent but it was very well read.
This is a women's fiction/romance book, which is light-hearted and full of fun. I really enjoyed it!
The story is about a woman called Maddie who joins a weight watchers group, and there she meets two new friends, called Lauren and Jess. We are shown all three of them as they go on their journey to lose weight and feel better about their bodies. Along the way, we have a good laugh and cry with them, as they overcome their fears and help each other to be more confident. The three of them support each other, and this is lovely to see.
The audiobook narrator was perfect for the job, and she had a nice, calming voice, which suited the story.
I loved this sweet and funny book, and recommend it highly. I also loved the book cover, which is really beautiful.
Many thanks to the author, narrator, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book.

Read by Kate Rawson. I like the Brummie accent. I did struggle to identify the different characters voices.
A fun light feel good womens fiction, an easy read with characters experiencing real life problems. You might identify identify with more than one of the life struggles.
Maddie Jess and Lauren are 3 very different women who team up as a morale support team at a diet club fat busters, themes covered are the difficulties losing weight, relationships, bereavement, job dissatisfaction.
The lighthearted fun approach makes it easy to listen to this feel good womens fiction.
If you enjoyed the tv series fat friends you’ll love this.
