A lovely and well illustrated story about going further and further, exploring, and trying new things. A little surface level, but a lovely adventure with a sweet hero snail. The illustrations are what truly makes this book shine.

Is the grass always greener?
Walter is tired of always looking at leaves and leaves his friends behind to go on an adventure, something he never thought he could do.

What I enjoyed:
~ how Walter has a dream, chooses to be brave and slowly goes out of his comfort zone to achieve that dream
~ all the new friends he meets along the way that welcome him into their area and show him he can try something new
~ Kendrick the frog’s great advice ~ you can do whatever you put your mind to
~ how he showed his snail friends that he could do things they never thought they could ~ like climb a tree and go swimming

The illustrations were perfectly fitting to the story.

All in all, this is a cute, non rhyming story perfect for children ages 3-6.

Love the illustrations!! Walter has a great, can-do attitude who meets endearing characters, each sharing their skills with Walter. Would definitely purchase for my library.

An adorable read about a snail who goes on an adventure far away from the world he's always known. I love the message that you can do anything you set your mind to. And even though it may feel a bit ableist, he did get a lot of help from friends along the way, so maybe the lesson is actually that friends and help are important.

Walter the Wonder Snail is a charming and beautifully illustrated story about showing that no goal is unachievable. It shows Walter, the snail embarking on a journey to explore the world around him, with his friends helping him along the way, showcasing an influential story of resilience and determination.

Great illustrations. A good story for demonstrating key characteristics to children on resilience and perseverance. Will be a good classroom story book to tie in with the wider curriculum such as PSHE.

Thought this was a fantastic book. Such a wonderful storyline that engages the reader and shows children that there is no goal that isnt achievable, even if someone says that you cant do it, where there is a will there is a way. Absolutely gorgeous illustrations and such great resources to have the classroom! Cant wait to get my hands on a hard copy!

I received a copy of this book through Netgalley. This is my honest review.

This was a cute story about an adventurous snail who wants to do more than just live among the leaves. Even though all the other snails tell him that his dreams are not what snails do, he goes out and does it anyway. Reminding kids to not listen to what everyone else says they can or cannot do.

The illustrations were fun and colorful, showcasing Walter's many adventures. I could read this book a few times because it has a great message and it's not a dull chain events. It also doesn't have any problems with flow. Overall I give this book 3.79 out of 5 stars.

The pictures in this book are beautiful, the illustrations are so colorful and wonderful to look at. This is a great story about how one snail is determined to go outside of his comfort zone (and the comfort zone of all the other snails) and travel the "world". Once his is on his own though - he really does understand why maybe al snails don't do this type of thing.

Great story about following your dreams but then also realizing that it's not always greener on the other side of the fence.

Walter the Wonder Snail is an adorable and moving picture book. The illustrations are gorgeous and do a wonderful job creating the atmosphere. Each character Walter comes across is unique and moves the story forward. As for the text, I loved how descriptive each word used was. Clark did an incredible job both as author and illustrator.

Thank you NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group for sending this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own. This book was so cute!!! I couldn’t help but do voices for the characters as I read it out loud. The story has the feel of classics I grew up with that have some moral to the story but more modern. The positive message of being to do anything you can put your mind to despite others saying you can’t is a great message for kids and they’ll get it through the fun adventures of Walter. The illustration was great also. I really enjoyed this story.

This was a cute book. The message was sweet but not heavy handed and the illustrations were great. My six year old was engrossed the whole book and my three year old loved the frog.

This was a delightful picture book about a snail who decides to break out of the role of what a snail is supposed to do. My kids were drawn to the cover and loved hearing about the adventure of Walter and imagine where else he may go. I enjoyed the theme of doing something that’s not expected and finding an adventure. As my kids begin to notice what other kids are doing, I love stories that stress the importance of individuality and differences and curiousity.

This is a great book about how you can achieve anything you put your mind to no matter what people say. Just because its not what's expected of you doesn't mean you can't do it.
