Walter the Wonder Snail was a very enjoyable read. If you enjoy the Snail and the Whale, you will have a good time reading this with your children. The illustrations along with the enjoyable adventure captured the attention of my children of all ages.
Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to review this advance copy.
What a wonderful story of accomplishment and believing in oneself, as well as not being scared of exploring.
The kids really enjoyed it. Nice story, kept them interested & good pictures.
The messages in the story were really good, and explained well. The premise of helping others to combat their fears and also that we must think big!
Lovely book, thanks for the advanced copy.
Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group – Frances Lincoln Children's Books for allowing me to be an early reader. All opinions are my own.
My boys (age 5 and 3) loved this adorable book about Walter the Wonder Snail. Walter lives a boring life among the leaves. One day he decides to "think BIG" and go on an adventure even though that's not what snails do. Along the way he meets a squirrel, bird, frog, and rabbit who help him overcome obstacles.
This would be an excellent book for classrooms and early readers. It has a nice message and beautifully colored illustrations.
This is such a cute, motivational story for kids with great illustrations. It would be a good addition to younger elementary school classrooms.
This is a cute book about going on an adventure and seeing your place in a new light and angle. I really love the illustrations and the cute little animals and creatures throughout.
Such a cute picture book with beautiful illustrations. This is a great story on trying your best and never giving up!
My grandsons loved everything about this book! I loved the help the animals gave to the snail to help him accomplish things he wasn’t able to do on his own. Such a sweet story!
The illustrations were very cute and I loved the colors.
Be brave, be curious, and be like Walter the snail!
A book about a snail who wants to know more. Who wants to be more. A snail who is different, who wants to see more, who wants to understand more. This is definitely a book any kid would benefit from! Through the eyes of a snail, it encourages you to see beyond what is right in front of you, it encourages you to go where you have never been to, and it encourages you to experience what has not been experienced yet. of course, it is scary to stand out and to be different, but if the little and oh-so-adorably cute snail can do it, so can you!
Also, the drawings are really cute! They are large, clear, and colorful, and the text is not too long. Each tiny piece of text is followed by a relevant and cute drawing.
If you are looking for an adorable book about a snail having an existential crisis and setting out into the world out of spite and with the sole purpose of proving everyone else wrong, look no further than Walter The Wonder Snail.
Walter enjoys his quiet piece of earth surrounded by leaves but wonders if there is more out there for him. When he sets out on his adventures, he meets lots of new friends that give him the courage he needs to successfully complete his quests. Walter soon learns that believing in yourself is the most important thing.
Neil Clark wrote an enchanting children’s book, one that is fun to read for all ages. Walter the Wonder Snail is set for publication on April 4, 2023.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of this children’s book.
Walter the Wonder Snail is an absolutely delightful and adventurous picture book that is a blast to read aloud to young readers. Throughout the story, Walter doubts his abilities because “that’s not what snails do”, but various other animal characters encourage him to stretch the bounds of what he can do. I love a book that reminds children of their limitless potential and not to get caught up in what people say they can or can’t do because of who they are!
A fun children's adventure book with lovely illustrations.
A beautiful story of a snail discovering he can do whatever he sets his mind to, even if he is just a snail...
A wonderful message to show children they can be whoever they want to be, and do whatever they want to do =, no matter how many people say they can't.
That the impossible is possible...
This was a lovely story about how much you can accomplish when you believe in yourself and lean a little on your friends. I think it will do a great job helping boast self esteem from a young age. Plus the art style is incredibly cutesy
I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. A nice positive message for kids, but a bit too much text for my liking. Fun illustrations, though.
With beautiful illustrations and a strong message, Walter the Wonder Snail shows us what it's like to do more than the world says you can. The longer you look at each page, you notice new details that will be sure to delight kids. Great for a classroom and for families. Walter's bravery and creativity with delight all readers!
Thank you to NetGalley, and the publisher for the eARC! A cute story about the life of a snail, who is bored of his everyday activities. I like that different animals helped him on his adventure throughout the story.
The illustrations are very appealing. A fun spring time read.
This was such a cute children’s book. Perfect life lesson for the 5-8 year old crowd. This would be a great book to read aloud to a classroom. The illustrations are beautiful and bright. I loved the cute message. It was short and sweet. My kindergarten class would love it. Definitely be able to do fun activities along with it!
This adorable book should be in every young child’s classroom or home. The artwork is beautiful and engaging. The story of a little snail who wants to have an adventure, but he is told that is not what snails do. He sets out into the world, and every time he repeats to himself that is not what snails do, a new friend appears to help him on his way. It is a wonderful story about being brave and trying new things.
Colorful pictures with an engaging story. My kids have it 4 stars. Great lesson on being brave and trying new things but returning back to home.
This book, at its heart, a cozy and moving story about thinking big, being brave and trying things that are different from normal. Walter the snail, is told that all snails doe is eat leaves day in day out, but he has bigger ambitions so he sets off on a brave journey to explore and try new things or see things he never has before. He is told over over that "this isn't what a snail does" but he chooses to be himself and do things others haven't dared to do before. This book is compelling story about Walters bravery and is definitely a great read to inspire young children to pursue their desires by being courageous.
