This was so fun I must say. I read it all the way through with not a single break because I NEEDED to know what happened next. Short and to the point, I really enjoyed this. Listen I’ve never read a Dino romance before but I know this is Lola’s thing and it won’t be the last book I read from her. This was just a delight!!!

Ok, I honestly don't know what I expected from this book. I had a feeling dino-erotica would be involved. I just didn't expect the form it took. I'm happy it was short, but I do wish to know more about a world in which not only does a dinosaur ranch exist, but it's kept secret. I can't say I blame Tallulah for tracking it down. She did get a little sidetracked by man candy (I use the term man loosely here). Tallulah is a go-getter, and she go-got-him! This is worth reading for the entertainment value alone, and I really enjoyed sharing my thoughts while I read. If you want something quick to read and can suspend your disbelief appreciably, then check this book out.

I would give this book 3.5 stars if half stars were an option. At first, it felt like a Jurassic park rip off but eventually, the book found a bit of its own voice. The pacing was off to me I felt like the story evolved really quickly, I understand that it is a quick book, and half the point of erotica is just getting to it but I think the story could've felt more believable if there was even minor bits suggesting time had passed. For example, just a paragraph describing Tallulah's first week at the ranch and how it was a whirlwind of learning and trying to keep her thirst for Reid at bay. Maybe that paragraph was there and I missed it but I stand by my point. I think the bones of the story are good but I am left wanting more of a build-up to the action. Even if the book was the same length I think there are very minor changes that could be made to build more anticipation. I will also admit that sometimes Tallulah's love of dinosaurs was a little bit too in the 'rawr XD' realm and not enough in the scientist realm. I say this as someone who works in a related field who works with plenty of dino obsessed nerds.

I was instantly intrigued when I saw this pop up as a “Read Now” option on NetGalley. I mean, you can’t scroll past something with this cover, labeled as dinosaur erotica and not be curious. This was super short (read in less than 2 hours) and I’m not sure the story could have hooked me for too much longer. I was disappointed in the erotica tagline (was expecting much steamier) and not into the instalove. The story had potential. Being from the KC area, I found the idea of a Dino ranch in Independence, MO to be funny. If your intrigued, go for it, but there are much better options.
Overall Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 (added one because I love the cover)
Spice Level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/5

This book does EXACTLY what it says on the tin. I came for dinosaurs and banging and that’s what I took home with me.

I wasn’t aware before reading this ARC that the author also wrote Wet Hot Allosaurus Summer, the cover of which I have long admired, but can I just say that the artist is fantastic. Very committed to the genre and the bit.

I cannot imagine that a single person who picks up Dino Stud will be disappointed in this read. Elegant prose, hot sex, many dinosaurs.

I just don’t even know what to say. I had to DNF this and can’t start the other one by same author. I thought I could be this adventurous but I was wrong. smh

Tiktok sent me here….enough said! But on a serious note this was just a palette cleanser for me to get between some heavy reads. Very quick read. It’s being labeled erotica but there’s barely any sex scenes in it so maybe relabel it. Left some questions unanswered and was comical in some ways which I don’t think it was meant to be.

It was the first book I read with dinosaurs.
It will be the last.
During my reading I spend my time thinking about the movie Jurassic Park.

This was a quick read and is exactly how it’s described. I would’ve liked a little more dinosaurs and maybe some more about the DNA but overall a fun and spicy read.

Listen, I'm sure I'm just preaching to the choir here-- but sometimes A Person just really NEEDS a book where an intrepid young beautiful etc. 25 year old PhD student finds a mysterious dinosaur expert who supposedly died years ago, only to fall in love with him, have sex with him, and then discover after the fact that he is, in fact, a Dino-human hybrid.

(It's me, I'm A Person.)

TL;dr: This book is literally everything it says on the tin and I mean that as very high praise.

Dino Stud? More like Dino Dud.

This reads like Jurassic Park fan fiction written by a teenager. It's ditzy and horny, but hardly smutty. Just one scene...between humans! Take a moment to appreciate the fabulous cover and then move along.

I want to thank Netgalley for sending me this book to give my honest review on. Let's jump into this one.

Tallulah Cole is obsessed with dinosaurs. She is studying to become a paleontologist and she wants a summer job at the "ranch" which is known for having real dinosaurs. At the ranch, she meets Reid Canmore, a paleontologist who has dedicated his life to dinosaurs. Is there a spark between them or is their love extinct?

I've heard a lot about Lola Faust and her whacky dinosaur erotica novels but this left me underwhelmed. I expected this to contain more spice in it but it really lacked. I felt like there was no spark between Reid and Tallulah. A lot of this book was Tallulah drooling over Reid and Reid had no clue. It felt like a student having a crush on the teacher and the teacher didn't know, you know what I'm talking about. Same vibes. You know how in some adult films, they have those intros where they introduce the two people and how they fell for each other? Yeah thats what this book was like. Painfully awkward and just waiting for the spice to happen. Then, the end where he was half dinosaur? Nice touch, I have to admit.

Now you're probably wondering why I rated this 2 stars? I thought it was a fun, quick read. It lacked a lot of elements for me but if you're looking for a funky, short book to read for fun, this is for you. There was some good world building in this book I just felt like the characters lacked that spark that makes it interesting. I will definitely be checking out more of Lola Faust because I'm interested in her quirky ideas. She's able to grab the readers attention with her wild plots and I think that is an excellent way to get people to read your book.

Again, thank you to Net Galley for this ARC!

Okay I read another book by this author and it just wasn’t my thing, but this novella I actually really liked, I wouldn’t even mind it being a full length novel. It is a little cheesy at times like a B rated Sci-Fi movie, but you can tell the author knows her dinosaurs. The twist was very interesting, and even though it’s labeled as erotica it really isn’t, since it was just one scene. If Jurassic Park is your thing you might like this book too. Just a warning though, her other books are not for the faint of hearts. 😅😂😂

I wish it was longer!! I'm a Jurassic Park girl and loved this. It wasn't at all what I thought it was, or as weird as I thought it would be. The Dino Stud in question is very much in human form but with a twist. I was left wanting more but it was a great quick read. I need more!!!

My thanks to NetGalley for making an eARC of this book available to me.

This book was worth reading, if only for the title and cover art. As it is a very short novel, your time investment would be minimal.

In this book a female grad student (majoring in dinosaurs!) goes looking for an apparently undocumented dinosaur ranch, ends up with a summer internship, has sexual fantasies about hunkalicious boss, enacts said fantasies, they profess their love for each other, stave off a dinosaur attack, secrets are revealed, and so on. Not great writing, but it moves along so fast that you don't really notice until the book comes crashing to an end. Would I read more by this author? Possibly.

A fun, flirty and far-fetched dinosaur themed sexy novella! This one really packs it all in. The insta-love was a little tough for me but made sense in context of short story. A quick paced, what you see is what you get, kind of romance- this one kept me entertained.

This book grabbed my attention by the cover and title. I didn't even read the synopsis. I'm a dino fan so I was expecting some dino shifters with some weird dino smut included. This was a huge disappointment. The girl, she keeps talking about how smart she is and how she wants to be paleontologist but all she does is think of having sex with the dude. Girl is horny AF. No smut til 85% and nothing but lame humanoid smut. Dude has dino DNA but doesn't shift into a dino!!! What a waste of a dino romance. Two stars

Thank you to Netgalley for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I'll be honest; I requested this based on the cover alone. It's completely ridiculous and I couldn't stop laughing when I was looking at it. But if the cover deters you, don't let it.

This is my first Lola Faust book and Taken By the T-Rex it is not. I don't know why I was expecting dinosaur erotica (where she legit gets it on with a dino) because the cover clearly shows a male and a female in an embrace but... my mind works in mysterious ways.

If you want to know what this book is about think Jurassic World + surfer hair on the MMC - Chris Pratt being an annoying human = this book. Like. I can't describe it any better than that, tbh. And I was here for all 110 pages of it. It was actually really well written and kept me intrigued. The spice was much lower than I'm used to, but the dinosaurs and the intrigue kept me hooked.

10/10 do recommend, especially if you're looking for something short and light that requires 0 brainpower LOL.

Perversely, there was WAY too much story and not nearly enough dinosaurs (or romance, I guess, but I was mainly reading for the cheese and the dinosaurs). I don't care about the NDAs at the dino ranch, I don't care about the weird lore/mythology, and I don't care about the ludicrously inconsistent dumb/smart paleontologist doctoral candidate (though her swings toward the inane were by turns cringy and funnily in keeping with this genre). I wanted more T-Rexes, and more 'petting the ankylosaurus until he coos like a pigeon' cutesy goofiness. Oh well. Cover's great, of course.

I love me some weird eroticas and stories lol
I’ve read a good deal of odd plots and pairs, but this one was something else. It reads like a well written novel which most of these types of novellas sometimes lack. The characters were likable, diverse and appreciated that Reid was more realistic in his body description and not a cut gym bro.
There was one major grammatical error where it was supposed to be Rowan speaking but it said Tallulah by mistake.
Other than that it was a good quick read.
