Dino Stud by Lola Faust follows Tallulah Cole on her quest to get hands on experience with dinosaurs as she continues to pursue her passion in palaeontology. She decides to spend a summer working on the mysterious 'Ranch' and is instantly attracted to her new boss.

Did I find the spicy scenes corny? Yes.
Did I find the plot obscene? Also Yes.
Did I understand the point of any of the supporting characters (except for Rowan who was like an exasperated chaperone)? No, not at all.
Did I have an awesome time and devour the book in a few hours? You bet.

Its a fast paced quick read, where, what you see is what you get from the title alone. It certainly isn't for everyone, but you should know if this one is for you based on the front cover and title alone. Also, I adore the front cover, I love classic romance novel front covers and this one is just great.

Thanks NetGalley for giving me access to this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was a quick, fun read with some good world building.

Tallulah Cole is a paleontology doctoral student eager to talk her way onto “The Ranch” a very secretive dinosaur hatchery. Using her Google skills she finds the location and talks her way into a summer job. She is instantly attracted to Reid Canmore - a famous paleontologist-geneticist who also is presumed dead. The attraction and the plot races along and there’s some fun Jurassic Park style sightings before the inevitable dinosaur breach happens cutting short Tallulah and Reid’s sexy times. The truth behind Reid’s existence is revealed a bit abruptly and the story does race to the end and wraps up quickly with some issues that would give me pause - but enjoy yourself Tallulah! Overall, a light fun read.

This was a crazy book I enjoyed it because it was a short novella and it was different. I like different books what appealed me to get this book ? It was the cover it reminds me of a romance vintage novel and i love those.
Tallulah Cole is a paleontologist and she searches on google to find a way into her summer job. She gets a job at this summer farm that has dinosaurs an she always knew as a kid she had a love for dinosaurs and she ended up working for them at this summer job. She was instantly attracted to her boss who has this dinosaur farm Reid Canmore. He’s built an handsome with muscles. Mind you this is a dinosaur breeding farm lol. The two of them are instantly attracted to one another they have a romp romantic rendezvous and a happily ever after towards the end I love how she calls him her dinosaur stud. Short book really fun read.

Do you know what? Books are very much of the moment they’re read aren’t they? I picked this up after a stressful, unpleasant read when I needed to rinse out my brain. I find a Dino shifter book sometimes just does the palate cleansing job like no other. The cover looked glorious and unapologetic. The author’s pen name suggested the same. And I had a delightful time reading this!

I’m not sure the plot matters greatly but here we have a palaeontology PhD candidate, a plucky and delightfully muscular (this saved it from my not favourite hunky boi/smol girl trap) Tallulah Cole, using her initiative if not survival instinct to go for a summer job at The Ranch/Dino hatchery. Like me with this book, she comes across something a little ridiculous sounding but promising online and jumps on board. As luck would have it, she encounters the mysterious but eminent and sizzlingly hot Reid Canmore and the rest is ancient history. I mean I get it. Sometimes the lizard brain just takes over, and when brawny forearms are involved, you just wouldn’t say no would you?

In addition to the fun and games, I genuinely found this novella to be competently written. I enjoyed the snappy and tight pacing, and the world and character building were very much in proportion with the word count. That’s not an easy feat to accomplish! If you’re looking for a short fun ride full of intrigue, mystery, pheromones and smells, arms better than the original T-Rex, some sex, and surprisingly low stress stakes, this might be just the book for you!

The cover is what made me curious, and I enjoyed the story, it was a fast read that was fun to get into. I like Jurassic park so this twist into the book was great with that hint of romance. The storyline was simply great too.

This was a quick and interesting read. It's not the steamiest of "Dino-Erotica" books, but it does tell a rather unique and interesting story. There's a lot of secrets at the Dino Ranch and Tallulah is happy to be a summer intern on her path to becoming a paleontologist and working with actual dinosaurs on the ranch. The more she learns about her new cohort and the dinosaurs, as well as her hot new boss, the more she knows this is the ultimate job for her. But danger is lurking around the corner if the Dinosaurs get out of hand.
Unlike Lola Faust's other stories, this one plays out a little differently regarding the female main character's love interest and her romantic romps aren't with full blown prehistoric creatures. There is a bit of a twist but I'm not going to spoil that, only to say that it adds to the mystery and secrecy of the ranch and the work they are doing. All in all a solid story and a different side to Lola Faust.

This was another wild bonier story! It was really interesting and the characters were more developed than the last! The build up was quite a bit! But still a fun read!:)

*Thank you NetGalley for the ARC*

Ok so I have been down the Lola Faust rabbit hole before... this ain't my first rodeo. However, I would argue that this is the most complete story arc that I have seen from this author so far.

Tallulah Cole is a Paleontology student looking for adventure, she has heard about a Ranch with barn-free dinosaurs and she has decided that this is where she needs to get a summer job. The Ranch turns out to be hard to locate and it takes a bit of nosing around before she's able to find her way to the ranch. She passes out and wakes up in a room at the ranch where her phone is taken away. What could possibly go wrong? Running the Ranch is mysterious rich guy Reid Canmore, who Tallulah cannot resist, but about whom she has been warned! Will Tallulah be able to resist?!?! well, obviously not! that is not what we are here for!

One of the things that has irked me about previous Lola Faust books has been the pacing of the story arcs and/or the super abrupt endings. Honestly, none of us are here for the science or high literature, but nevertheless the abrupt endings have taken away from the experience a bit for me. And that is where DinoStud really does well. There is a full story arc, a thoughtfully created world and much better pacing than in previous books. There is a sprinkling of dinosaur nerd stuff, but not all of it is correct. However, I'm not entirely convinced that is accidental. Nothing makes a dino nerd happier than to be able to point out that they can name at least 3 predators larger than the T Rex, or that the Apatosaurus debate has moved on again and that the Apatosaurus is not a thing anymore (it's me, I'm the dino nerd). So this actually seems like a quite clever gimmick.

Is it a bit nuts? yes. Did it make me happy? also yes. I would recommend this as a gateway to Lola Faust before diving into the rest of the backlist... but if you do decide to take the plunge... come on in! the water is fine!

I mean, this book is exactly what you think it is. Jurassic Park but make it sexy. It has the freewheeling sense of having never been edited (not necessarily in a bad way, but there's a reference to the protagonist being an absolute lady, and then two paragraphs later describes something as "unladylike" without any recognition of that contrast) and an energy that just carries you through. The twist at the end isn't entirely unexpected, but it still rules, honestly. If you're looking for subtlety, this book is not it. If you're looking for rollicking fun, pick this up. (Also shoutout to Lola Faust for using language like "safe" instead of "clean" when talking about STIs!)

Based on the cover, the synopsis, and the title, I was expecting this to be a fun diversion into the world of dinosaur erotica (a place I have only ventured once before, when I read *Space Raptor Butt Invasion* by Dr. Chuck Tingle). Lola Faust delivered.

Tallulah is a PhD candidate in paleontology, and is determined to get a job with the mysterious, isolated, and cutting-edge dinosaur breeding facility Dino Ranch. They aren’t advertising or anything, and she has no reason to think they even *want* an intern, but she is nevertheless determined to show up at their doorstep and refuse to leave until they give her a chance.

What Tallulah didn’t count on was that the director of Dino Ranch was famed paleogeneticist Reid Canmore, seeing as he was killed in a helicopter crash some years before.

She also didn’t expect him to be such a hunk.

Or the heir of an English barony.

Or smell so nice.

In the story that follows, Tallulah’s desire for Reid and her obsession with dinosaurs synergize. She is determined to have him, despite being warned off by the #2 at Dino Ranch.

In the end, this was a great deal of fun. It didn’t quite reach the literary heights of *Space Raptor Butt Invasion* (not much of a complaint, as Dr. Tingle is a national treasure with no rival) but it is nonetheless a story for any self-respecting lover of dino erotica. My only complaint is that, frankly, there could have been more dinosaurs.

I look forward to reading other entries in Faust’s series of dino erotica stories (especially *Triceratops & Bottoms*) the next time I am bored, horny, and thinking about dinosaurs.

I thought this was absolutely delightful! A fun no one gets hurt fetish, we're all allowed to get as silly frivolous joyous and hilarious as we want to! I'm not sure it can be categorized as erotica, there was 1 sex scene, but it was DEFINITELY a creative blend of cowboy romance, monster romance, and pure rococo fun.
Silly, sexy, short, joyous. At barely cresting 100 pages, we all should read this and remember that sex and feeling sexy is supposed to be F U N. No need to take ourselves so seriously all the time <3

This is the romance fans of dinosaurs or the Jurassic Park franchise have been craving!

Tallulah is archeological doctorate student looking for some real world summer job experience… but in this alternate world, she’s not looking for a dig sight, but a top secret dino breeding facility!

Persistence and tenacity on Tallulah’s part works in her favour and she finds the secret sight and convinces them to take her on as a summer student. She can’t wait to experience the dinosaurs she has been studying in their natural state, but keeps finding herself distracted and drawn to the enigmatic sight leader, Reid. She has been warned off of him, but their mutual love of dinosaurs and a feeling of being separate from the rest of society connects these two in more ways than one!

This was a lot of fun! Our hero, Reid totally reminded me of Chris Pratt’s character in Jurassic World, all the better to bring this steamy dino fantasy to life! As a quick novella, I easily feel into step with the alternate reality and the light storyline that has brought the characters together. As a novella, details are few, but in this type of story, with its similarity to Jurassic Park’s science, it was not necessary.

I devoured this book and promptly acquired the rest of Faust’s dino romances! This was alight dino romance that provides a palatable entry to the subject. Fans of monster/ alien romance will enjoy this nostalgic romp!

This was a well-written and fun read. I was definitely expecting more of an actual dino romance. So, I was relieved to discover that was not the case.

Ok…this is the third book I’ve read by this author (I ask myself why I keep putting myself through it), but I really enjoyed this one! The writing seemed so much better, there was an actual storyline and the spicy scene didn’t make me cringe or feel ill! I want to visit a Dino ranch!

Ummmm,, what did I discover here?
I never knew there was such a thing as “Dino kink”.
You learn something new every day, and it’s usually from Books!
Needless to say, this was a fun, spicy book, not my thing but I can appreciate that the author is a very good writer for this genre!

Thankyou to author Lola Faust and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book!

My only problem with this book was the lack of smut. Was I secretly hoping he would turn into a dino when they finally did the do? Yes, but that's on me. Like all of Lola Faust's books, it's a silly goofy little romance. I had a fun time and that's all that matters...I think.

“Dino Stud” is a romance book by Lola Faust. I know it’s binned under Science Fiction, but while there’s discussions about DNA, I’m on the fence about that binning (I guess it’s a better fit than Fantasy, but …). As for it being under “erotica” - um, does once explicit scene erotica make - I don’t know. Anyway, I’ve seen covers of this author’s books before and my hat’s off to her for finding a niche - Dinosaur Romance/Erotica writing. I mean, I’d’ve never thought to write in that genre but she did and with six books under her belt - more power to her. The positives of this book - it’s short, it reads like wonderfully ‘bad’ fanfic, the fantastic throwback cover (swoon!), and in its over the topness it’s hysterically funny (at one point I had to stop the treadmill to laugh at the gym because I would’ve seriously hurt myself on the machine). The meh - other than instalove (but in a short book do you really have time for slowness?) I couldn’t tell you why other than animal magnetism that our heroine fell in love/lust with the hero (and vice versa). Also “hey, I did a Google search and got lucky with a direction, can I work the summer at your ranch” - yep, happens all the time. The bad - if you go in thinking this is going to be a serious literary book, do yourself a favor and pick another book. I’m not sure why one of the secondary characters was there (and why that person leaving was mentioned - a second book in this series???) and there are some plot holes big enough to drive Hummers through … but if you ignore all that - fasten your seatbelt and enjoy the ride. Ms. Faust knows dinosaurs, I’ll give her that … and this was a wonderfully fun break from the deep books I’ve been reading lately. So, overall, a 4 star read for pure entertainment and escapism!

Remember when I said “you can’t judge a book by its cover”? Well, I lied- bc this book cover tells us everything we need to know about this campy, sexy, ridiculous book!

Tallulah is a 25yo paleontology grad student who is obsessed w dinosaurs for no clear reasons other than “I love them”. She totes doodles “Tallulah + Dinos ❤️” in all her grad school notebooks and 100% has a weird Fred Flintstone fetish. She decides to spend her summer on a mysterious dino ranch creatively named “The Ranch” so she uses google Earth to find it and just shows up…and even though the place is shrouded in secrecy, she is allowed to stay to “intern”.

Reid is a sexy, rich nepo-baby, dino dna expert who everyone believes to have died in a helicopter accident. He now acts as the Lord of Dino Manor in East Bumfuck, Missouri where he breeds and raises dinosaurs for unclear purposes since everything he does is a secret. His house is filled with paintings of dinosaurs, including a giant pic of a TRex over his bed, which isn’t weird at all. Nope totes normal.

Upon meeting Reid, Tallulah wants to immediately unearth his dino bone. She keeps reminding herself to keep it profesh bc she’s totes gonna be a paleontologist #dreamjob, but within like 12 hours of meeting Reid she decides they are soul mates. It takes no less than 36 hours for Reid’s thunder lizard to mate with Tallula’s vagasauras. Reid claims it’s true love but perhaps it’s bc she’s the only non-reptile female he’s seen in years. Tallulah doesn’t care bc she’s a numbskull with no standards- ie, she slept with a man who faked his death and has TRex bedroom art.

This novella was cray in the best way ever. I LOL’d many times even though I don’t think it was trying to be funny. Def recommend bc you gotta dip your stego horns into dino smut at least once in your life, right?

Smut- 2.3 stars
Romance- 3.1 stars
Story- 3.9 stars
The fanfuckingtabulous cover- 61 stars

FYI spoilers below!

This is a fun, silly little book! Simple but Jurassic Park vibes in a fun way. I'll give it 4 stars because it's doing what it wants to do well, but I kinda wish there were more to him being a hybrid. Like, it's predictable and kind of tacked on. Also, with the title stud I kept waiting to hear that he was the literal father of the other dinosaurs lol and can't decide whether I'm glad that was or wasn't the case.

Dino Stud
by Lola Faust

First of all the cover is great! This is an enjoyable romance novella that is about a university student
studying paleontology who goes to the middle of nowhere to intern at a dinosaur breeding refuge.

I would have liked the story to be longer with some sensual explorations of the revelations we got at the end of the book.

All in all it was a fun and unique book.

Thank-you to author Lola Faust, BooksGoSocial and NetGalley for providing me with a digital ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Okay I read another book by this author and it just wasn’t my thing, but this novella I actually really liked, I wouldn’t even mind it being a full length novel. It is a little cheesy at times like a B rated Sci-Fi movie, but you can tell the author knows her dinosaurs. The twist was very interesting, and even though it’s labeled as erotica it really isn’t, since it was just one scene. If Jurassic Park is your thing you might like this book too. Just a warning though, her other books are not for the faint of hearts. 😅😂😂

I love me some weird eroticas and stories lol
I’ve read a good deal of odd plots and pairs, but this one was something else. It reads like a well written novel which most of these types of novellas sometimes lack. The characters were likable, diverse and appreciated that Reid was more realistic in his body description and not a cut gym bro.
There was one major grammatical error where it was supposed to be Rowan speaking but it said Tallulah by mistake.
Other than that it was a good quick read.

This was entertaining, but I was expecting it to be a lot weirder than it was. I would honestly check out more books by this author because their writing style worked for me and also because I want to see if they ever write more bonker books than this one ended up being.

This was so fun I must say. I read it all the way through with not a single break because I NEEDED to know what happened next. Short and to the point, I really enjoyed this. Listen I’ve never read a Dino romance before but I know this is Lola’s thing and it won’t be the last book I read from her. This was just a delight!!!

This book does EXACTLY what it says on the tin. I came for dinosaurs and banging and that’s what I took home with me.

I wasn’t aware before reading this ARC that the author also wrote Wet Hot Allosaurus Summer, the cover of which I have long admired, but can I just say that the artist is fantastic. Very committed to the genre and the bit.

I cannot imagine that a single person who picks up Dino Stud will be disappointed in this read. Elegant prose, hot sex, many dinosaurs.

Oh, this book. I mean, how can you not read it with a cover like that??

And let me tell you, Dino Stud is amazing. The set up: Tallulah, a 25 year old palentology PhD student, learns about a super-secret dino park (because this is an alternate universe in which people have the technology to clone dinosaurs, a la Jurassic Park) and decides she *must* get a summer internship there. So she sleuths out the location, shows up unannounced, and is miraculously handed her dream internship. Reid, the titular Dino Stud, runs the park and is ACTUALLY A FAMOUS PALEONTOLOGIST WHO DIED YEARS AGO IN A MYSTERIOUS HELICOPTER CRASH. But is really alive, obviously. Love and shenanigans ensue.

Yes, this book has its flaws. The FMC, for instance, starts out as a full human being who is shown to be strong, smart, independent, and interesting, but once she gets to the dino park and predictably immediately falls in love with Reid, her personality flattens into a moderately boring, Reid-obsessed dummy. There's attempt at queer inclusion, mainly by having a non-binary side character, but it seemed frankly half-assed and was overshadowed by the heteronormativity of the rest of the book. It's also an insta-love story, but not, I think, a very believable one.

BUT NONE OF THAT MATTERED (much, to me). Because the flaws were accompanied with a ridiculous, over the top, silly, fun bonkers-ness that just fucking glowed.

And the last 10% of the book was a hilarious delight. This is when the Big Reveal happens, which was apparently surprising to Tallulah but likely won't be to anyone who actually reads the book or pays even a smidgen of attention to the five million hints dropped throughout the story. Despite the Big Reveal being entirely predictable, the delivery of it is incredible. I actually cackled (not a word I've ever used before to describe a sound that came out of me)--loudly--for much of the last few chapters of the book.

This book is entirely worth an hour of your life, if you are a person who likes fun, absurd things and wants to laugh a lot.

The book, generally: some stars, some notes
The last 10% of the book: 1 million stars, 10/10, no notes

Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC!

I wasn’t sure what to expect with this one., but it was a fun short read that did a nice job building a world where dinosaurs could exist again. Honestly it did a surprisingly good job of making this implausible world seem completely feasible.

I generally try to only request books I think we will get in stock in our store but I got this one out of curiosity. Really glad I did.

Exactly what I needed. A fun book with a wacky plot that was quick to read.
I was able to escape for 2 hours and have a good laugh.

A very short story
I had a very low expectation of this book from all the reviews I've been reading. But it wasn't that bad actually. And it wasn't a pretend know-it-all on dinosaurs. She knew what she's writing about. Even if it's not the real fact, at least her writing is believable. Maybe just as some part I was like is it... Like this?
And yes it's a short story but it wasn't too spicy. Like some of us might expect it will. But the girl is really horny as hell. Plus the twist doesn't shock me anymore since everyone has been mentioning it on all of the reviews.

Tallulah is a post-grad student in paleontology and an obsession with dinosaurs. There’s a mythical ranch in Missouri where dinosaurs are raised and she’s determined to be a summer intern there.

There’s secrets, STEM, steam and a HEA!

Ok, but why did I like this so much? Maybe because it gave me Jurassic Park vibes and I LOVE Jurassic Park?

This was way less unhinged than I was expecting having just read Triceratops and Bottoms. There was actual plot here and the writing was so much better. . I honestly wish it had been a full length book so we could have gotten a little more slow burn on the romance and we could have explored Reid and The Ranch a bit more.

I'm not sure why this is classified as erotica as there is only one, short spicy scene.

Overall, this was fun as heck and I'm probably going to keep reading Lola's dino books.

I’ve been seeing this one all over Bookstagram, and when I tell you this book was wild…

BLURB: Talulah Cole was in for the summer of her life, working doing dinosaur research at “The Ranch”… little did she know that she was about to find a lot more than she bargained for.

As I mentioned this book was tons of fun. However, to properly enjoy it, you need to suspend all forms of reality. Do not go into this picking things apart and trying to rationalize anything.

This book is a quick read, something you can enjoy during a lunch break, and definitely a guilty pleasure. Without giving too much away, we have:
🦖A strong heroine (bonus points because she’s described realistically)
🦖 A summer camp vibe is definitely present
🦖 Obviously an epic T-Rex fight scene. My only complaint, I wish it was a little steamier.

Heat Level: 🔥🔥🔥

You know those books that you just have to read for the sheer ridiculousness of it? This is one of those. HOWEVER, I was pleasantly surprised. It was actually well-written with some solid character development (well, as much as you can have in so few pages). My dinosaur interests were piqued and my romance needs were intrigued. This feels like an introduction to future novels at “the Ranch” and I’ll be keeping my eye out!

Hot damn. This was such a crazy ride. Wild. It’s steamy but oh so wild! It’s definitely an interesting plot!

This was such a fun read, it was a lot different from Lola fausts other books but in a good way I loved the banter between Reid and tallulah , the mystery behind Reid and the ranch plus who doesn’t love a romance with mixed with Jurassic park? Plus getting a complete story. The only thing I did not like was it took a really long time for the spice and it was very short scene.

Dino Stud is a novella that won't tax the brain, but will make you look at dinosaurs in a whole new way. Quirky, erotic but not explicit, this is a fun and frivolous romp.

Tallulah Cole is a phD palaeontology student determined to gain a summer placement at The Ranch - a secretive dinosaur research facility run by the renowned expert Reid Canmore.

What Lulu doesn't expect is to fall in instant lust with the man.

Warned not to pursue him, she is nevertheless unable to stop her feelings from growing. And when it's clear he feels the same way, they are powerless to resist.

But a containment alarm leads to a late night confession that will shock Lulu. But will love and lust conquer all?

First of all, this book was better than expected and I had a lot of fun while reading it!

I requested this book because of the cover (I really love that!) and because it's about dinosaurs. It was really short and a lot of the story was very rushed. I still couldn't but it down because I wanted to know what the big plot will be and I really didn't expected it! (I thought he was doing it with the dinosaurs but that wasn't the case)

It's also not as spicy as I thought it would be. There was only one short scene but what I liked about that was, that he asked for consent.

I also liked the fact that it had a non-binary character in it.

It wasn't the best book I've ever read but I had fun with it and maybe I will pick up more books by Lola Faust because this one was a really fast and fun read!

Thank you to NetGalley for this EARC!

Very well written for being such a silly story. Cheesy dialogue, but it was so much fun it felt like the cheesyness was needed. I love a good silly erotic story that doesn't take itself seriously. This was perfect for that. Not as much smut as I expected, mostly buildup, but that worked out really well. I found myself rooting for things to happen and reading bits aloud to my husband. We both got a lot of laughs out of this story. Can't wait to read the rest.

4 stars.

After struggling through two other titles in this saurian erotic fever dream created by Lola Faust, I finally found one that I enjoyed. All it took was for the female MC to fall in love with another human instead of trying to have wildly unlikely sexual escapades with a dinosaur. Yes, there is a twist to the male MC’s story, but I won’t be spoiling that here.

Recommended for: erotica readers looking for something just a little out of the ordinary, but without all the human/dinosaur sex scenes from previous titles

So, on goodreads there’s a note “The newest novel in Lola Faust’s Dinosaur Erotica line” but this one I would not say is erotica at all. There’s 1 sex scene and it’s pretty vague and it reads as a standard romance – there’s not much focus on the sex at all and it’s definitely not about the sex journey. Perhaps her novel Triceratops and Bottoms would count in that category but I wouldn’t count this one!

This plot maybe isn't the strongest, but I enjoyed the ride for the most part! Being a shorter novel, we don't get a ton of character depth and I would have loved to have known Reid better and gotten a more solid HEA for them. Overall though this one was pretty fun.

This was just some fun and very odd Jurassic park inspired erotica. Super fun and very silly. I did was that they story had more exposition for the overall plot and story. The characters, although were flat, it still dint really sway my enjoyment of the story.

How does one rate a book that is bonkers from beginning to end? Honestly, I loved it. Sometimes bonkers dino romances are exactly what you need to read.

You get exactly what you’d expect just by looking at the cover. This was a quick entertaining read and honestly hilarious at times. Be ready for campy plot and Dinos amidst a scene you would expect to read.

Could have used 500 more pages, truth be told. I bought my own physical copy because I wanted this beauty to be displayed. Lola is a paleogenius.

It is a tragedy that I never got around to reading this one, it seemed like an absolutely wild ride. Just going to have to pick it up at the library later on down the road.

This was a trip! The cover is so nice, I would like to have it as a poster. The plot is fun and enjoyable. It is not high literature but it is damn entertaining and that is more important to me.
