This was a rather interesting way to approach writing a book, using a character invented by someone else and then continuing his story decades later! It did skip back and forth between the 1930's and the present day, but telling it as the author did made sense in the end. It was full of adventure, which was enjoyable, and though it was far fetched, it was fun to read. It also made me a trifle sad to think that if something like the Tsar's treasure existed, and actually found, there would be no end to people trying to steal it to use for their own bad ends.
Who doesn't love a good adventure, right? If you have vivid imagination, this story could have turn out to be a great enternaining film. As a book, it is alright, I would rate it more at a 3,4 stars.
This is a light read with a decent quick pace. We're introduced to different locations which helps a lot those of us with vivid imaginations. The ending was pretty much what I expected, and with that being said, tha is a good thing.
I would like to score higher, but I miss some more world building, and also more depth in the characters. I am one of those people that need a quite immersive experience in my reading, but overall, this was quite good.
This was a quick and easy adventure read with nice short chapters. It also felt like a pretty light read, even when it touched on some heavier topics toward the end. The cover reminded me of Indiana Jones and that vibe was also in the story. Parts also reminded me a bit of myth retellings like Percy Jackson. I was a little unsure how it could end in a satisfying way while I was reading, but I was happy with the ending when I got to it.

Review: I am not sure why this author does not have more exposure. For pure escapism this series fits the bill. Kind of a mix between Raiders of the Lost Ark, Baron Muchausen and Pirates of the Caribbean.
A real creative dive into adventure with well built, although fleeting, characters.
