Fear The Silence, defiantly an edge of your seat thriller. From daily mayhem to looking over your shoulder and wondering if you are making the right choice and how much do you know about placing trust in those around you. Just when you find a good stopping point, you don't. Thank you NetGalley for keeping me up last night!

This will certainly keep you reading! An apparently happy couple have secrets. Everything falls apart when the husband Will is found dead, according to the police by his own hand. Then Maggie his wife travels to their second home in Croatia to see if there are hints there as to why Will would do this. She discovers more than she bargained for. Will had been blackmailing a woman from his school days who is now a famous public figure. As it seems unlikely that Maggie can bring her down, a video from her past deals the fatal blow. This is a good, well written read. I am not sure why it is titled as it is. Fear the Secrets would be a better choice. I recommend this as an engrossing read.

On a normal day, like many other days, Maggie leaves for work. When she steps in to treat an incoming trauma, she is shocked. The patient is her husband! Officials inform Maggie that his death is a suicide. Maggie refuses to accept this explanation of his death and finds herself falling head-first into an extremely dangerous life. What prompted her husband's death? She is mystified by the information she locates. How did her husband find himself stuck in the midst of these problems? Will she be in danger if she tries to understand the circumstances?

Robert Bryndza's thriller is a captivating page-turner that moves from local suicide to international crime. The progression to such a wide scope leads to the corruption of politicians. What would someone in politics do to keep the power they have? The main character, Maggie, is surprised by the motive behind this story. As the pieces fall into place, she faces the revelation heroically. Maggie is driven to know the truth. It is her compulsive quest that takes the reader on a wild ride. As the book ends, it feels like the wild, exciting rollercoaster ride has suddenly stopped. You will need a few minutes to recover from this. Fear The Silence is a great summer read for those who love thrillers.

A tense thriller with great characters, this mystery drew me in immediately and was hard to put down until I'd finished. It's deftly plotted and the suspense never lets up. I love the development of Maggie's character as her life unravels and the strength she finds in herself. The villains of the story and the friends and sometimes unexpected supporters that Maggie finds along the treacherous course of her unsought adventures add interest to the novel as well. I highly recommend this one to readers who enjoy stories of political conspiracies, murder, and suspense.

My ears were buzzing and my insides were tingling...

How could I get my hands on a copy of Fear The Silence, prior to the big release?

I crossed my fingers and prayed to the book gods, and boy oh boy did they deliver!

When the approval came in for this book, I knew I had to set aside all plans and jump right in. Without a single regret both my husband and goldfish went hungry.

Robert Bryndza is a mastermind when it comes to publishing these pulse pounding, soul sucking, thrillers and let me tell you, Im here for it!

This book deserves all of the praise headed its way, and If I were you, I would not want to miss out! Pre-order this sure to be best seller.

Teaser :

‘Do you believe Will took his own life?’

The question echoed off the white tiles in the hospital’s cold, cavernous morgue, and I studied my husband in peaceful repose. I leaned down and put my forehead against his. Silent tears ran down my cheeks. They felt hot, and he felt so cold. It was five days since his death, and my grief felt heavy, like a vast, dark mass pushing down on me.

When Maggie’s husband, Will, is shot dead in their London home, she thinks he is the victim of a burglary until the police tell her the shocking news that Will was the one who pulled the trigger.

Maggie is consumed with grief and questions. Will wasn’t suicidal. He had so much to live for.

After the funeral, Maggie travels to their holiday home on a small Croatian island to escape London. She finds a disturbing letter written by Will, containing clues to a dark secret.

As Maggie puts the pieces together, she discovers Will’s death is connected to someone from his past… Someone who will go to extreme lengths to keep Maggie silent.

Three can keep a secret... If two of them are dead.

This book started out so promising.

Successful couple Will and Maggie have a charmed life. Maggie is a prominent doctor and Will, after years spent as a medical examine,r is enjoying a second career as an architect. But things turn tragic as Will comes through Maggie's ER with a fatal gunshot wound to the head. Maggie is naturally devastated, but even more shocked to find that the police suspect Will committed suicide. Maggie goes about laying Will to rest and taking care of his affairs, dumbfounded by fact she had no idea Will may have been suicidal, had even purchased a gun let alone had one in their house.

A few weeks after Will's death Maggie decides to go to their holiday home in Croatia. Upon arrival she receives a letter from Will sent by his solicitor written 6 years prior..."If you're receiving this letter, something has gone terribly wrong."

And unfortunately for me that is where this story does go terribly wrong. One implausible, outrageous occurrence after another occurs putting Maggie's life in danger. From there the plot just turns too farfetched. Because I enjoyed the first part of the story so much I would give this author another try.

Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Brilliant story which is so messed up, absolutely loved it!

Took some time to work out if anyone was who they said they were but gripping.

Wow! What a tense book.
I'd not come across this authorbefore, but that is clearly my loss. The lead character Maggie seems to have everything going for her and then suddenly her life disintegrates into chaos and terror. Just when there seems to be signs of some sort of resolution things take a turn for the worse.
It all moves along at a rapid pace with several twists including two massive ones towards the end. The setting of some of the book in Croatia is very different to that experienced by summertime visitors.
It's a very well written book and I have no reservations in recommendin

This is one of those books that starts one way and then suddenly turns left when you don't expect it, leaving you wondering what the heck is going on. And not in a bad way either. The story follows a Doctor who works in the ER, and one night her husband is brought in with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. From there her life starts to unravel in the worst possible ways, leaving her convinced that it was not suicide, despite that being what the police have ruled. She goes to their Croatian holiday home to pack up and that's when things start getting even more wild.

It's a thriller of a ride, and one that needs to be read, as the scary thing is: how often does this stuff happen?

I really like this author, and have read loads of his books. However I think I just read his best book, it was fab.I liked the main character, the other characters were believable, the plot was so twisty, just when I thought I had it worked out ,it went and fooled me again. The pace of the book was great, and I really can't fault it, I absolutely loved it. and would absolutely recommend it to other readers.

A rather different book for this author but thankfully still a good read! Robert Bryndza has carefully crafted a gripping thriller with a fascinating protagonist-a woman who never gives up trying to find out why her husband shot himself. But it’s the wonderful descriptions of Croatia that really brought this book to life and helped to draw me in. Whilst there is a slow start, once in Croatia there’s a much faster pace and feel to the action which ramps up the tension as it heads towards its dramatic conclusion. Addictive from start to finish!

Maggie Kendall, a trauma surgeon working in London is living in a comfortable Thameside house with her husband Will, (provided by her snooty- and rich - Mother in Law). After a happy, lazy Sunday together Maggie goes on night shift where stabbings and shootings are daily occurrences. This night, her worst nightmare rolls in on the trolley; it’s Will - with a lethal gunshot wound to the head.
After the initial shock and nightmare things only get worse and MiL is the opposite of comforting. To find some peace and to clear collect some valuables (for MiL), Maggie goes to their Summer house on the Croatian island of Tsitsina where she finds a mysterious letter from her husband. Then accidents, incidents and catastrophes start happening with terrifying rapidity. (So much so that it became quite humorous - especially where a necklace gets caught! No spoilers).
Will has left plenty of secrets and someone has followed Maggie to Tsitsina to find them out. With repercussions going near the top of the British Government she is on her own and out of her depth. Exciting, and fast moving (but some parts are unintentionally amusing in their horror!)

Maggie was so strong and wonderfully developed throughout this novel. I was really rooting for her. This book was a roller coaster ride with the twists and turns but it ended beautifully!
This being my first by this author and I believe his only standalone novel, I will definitely check out his other series.

I liked this book well enough until Maggie got to Croatia. Way too many bad things were happening and it just felt forced and too much. Taking a painting off a wall of a church, getting her necklace caught in a vent, getting stuck under a pool cover and diving into an undersea cave to retrieve a thermos of evidence? And all happening during an unrelenting storm. It just didn’t seem plausible to me.

I loved this book! It has been a long time since a book has pulled me in and kept me guessing! Grab this book for a summer read, you won't be disappointed!

I liked but not as much as the other series of this author.
I liked a lot the places and description, I can totally imagine the house, the island and the desperation and how afraid Maggie feels been alone and trying to find answers after her husband passed away. The mess he left behind for her to uncover was very unfair, to me he’s a coward who should talk to her before, but then maybe we didn’t have this story 😬
I have to confess that I can relate a little on the part about Maggie find out that she doesn’t really know her husband as she thinks, even after so many years sharing a life with someone they still surprised you with things that blows away your mind. The worst part is that you can’t confront them because they’re dead or runaway and us who are left behind have to deal with everything and find a way to keep going. I really feel for Maggie on that part, and understand her decision at the end when find out about that life she’s carrying, I’ll probably do it the same. Do I recommended this book? Yes, absolutely, but if you haven’t read this author I do encourage to start with the Erika Foster or Kate Marshal series(in that order) because this standalone book may not be a good start for new readers 😉
Thank you so much to the Author, Raven Street Publishing and NetGalley for trusting me with an ARC.
Until the next one, happy reading 🥰

What a twisty, twisted story! I love books by this author, and this one is no exception. I enjoyed the whole book, except the ending. I was expecting Bryndza’s usual thrilling style to wrap up at the end, but it took a turn to the odd, in a mundane sort of way. Otherwise the rest of the story was very compelling and kept me from putting the book down.

Fear The Silence by Robert Bryndza has Maggie going off to work in the ER but the gun shot victim who comes in is her husband. It looks like a suicide but is it?? Maggie goes to their home in Croatia where she gets a letter from her husband!! The story is a fast paced suspenseful thriller from there. I liked the characters and story line. It was good to have the story take place in Croatia. I would recommend this book. Thank you NetGalley for letting me review this book in exchange for an honest review.

Maggie and Will have been happily married for almost 25 years. He is a successful property developer and she is a doctor working the night shift in the emergency room of a hospital. She sees many victims of terrible crimes and she can’t save all of them. She is paralyzed with shock when Will is brought into the emergency room as an attempted suicide and cannot be saved. Maggie knows that he would not commit suicide though everything says that he did. Will loved mysteries and he was hiding something from everyone. She receives a letter from his attorney that was written 6 years prior to his death giving her clues to investigate should he die.
This novel is a puzzle and has heart pounding situations as Maggie tries to discover why and who might have killed her husband.

Thank you Net Galley

What an excellent stand alone thriller from the author! I found it compelling but unbelievable, it is fiction after all, but I really enjoyed the read. I can highly recommend this exciting, tense and well plotted thriller. Thanks to Net Galley for my ARC.
