Maggie is a successful doctor. She is shocked when her husband kills himself, but is convinced that it was staged.

Numb with grief, she travels to their holiday home in Croatia, and a letter from Will, her husband, is delivered. It was written six years previously. The letter convinces her that he was murdered.

Maggie is almost killed during several freak accidents, someone who has a lot of power is trying to silence her.

An absolutely rivetting novel!! I love Robert Bryndza's style of writing, and he certainly knows how to keep the reader on the edge of their seat!

If you want heart pounding mystery, this is the book and author for you.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Expect the unexpected in the book. This revolves around Loss of loved ones, tragic death, connection with the past and secrets.

The book is intriguing, unputdownable, and unpredictable. I loved Maggie’s character. The other characters were intriguing too. I loved the setting. The author has taken us deep into the life of a wealthy family. The book hooked me from page 1 and kept me at the edge. I couldn’t put it down until i figured out the mystery. I loved this book. It was a quick read. I couldn’t put it down . The plot was great the pace kept moving. I liked the main character Maggie. Her perspective was accurate for the way peoples lives really are. How much do we really know someone when you aren’t there 24/7/365. It was a scary unplanned adventure that changed her life forever. For the people who love stories with government intrigue and taking down political injustice it could be a book for you.

Maggie's husband kills himself unexpectedly and Maggie is both grief stricken and very confused. More accidents and terrifying incidents start happening as she investigates a secret message from her husband. Overall I enjoyed this book, at times, it did feel like way too many bad things were happening to be realistic, but it did make sense in the finish. A good book, I liked others of his more but still this was good

Wow! Another great book from Robert Bryndza! This carefully researched thriller kept me engaged with believable characters, an unusual setting, plenty of action, and an unpredictable story. Instead of the usual detective solving a crime, we have a protagonist living a relatively quiet life until her husband’s sudden death introduces her to secret information she now has reasons to reveal. That information also puts her life and the lives of those she cares about in danger. An engaging read with a satisfying ending.

I don’t know about you but something in this book had me bamboozled. And the realization really had me laughing. Oh well, at least it’s a testament to the author’s talent in writing and storytelling. I thought of talking about it on here but I figured it might as well be a spoiler, so I opted against it. Anyway, I do believe you’ll know once you’ve read it.

Now about the story, it’s a welcome change to what I have come to expect from Robert Bryndza and yeah, he nailed it with this one. This fast-paced, edge of your seat mystery-thriller will make you feel a multitude of emotions, have you question your own moral codes, stereotypes, personal biases, reflect on how well do you know your own person and how open you are with yourself. Moreover, it’ll also make you think about the perceptions you have of those you hold dear and if there really is such a thing as “unconditional love”.

It starts when a seemly doctor’s life is turned upside down after her husband died from a gunshot wound to the head at extremely close range. Every shred of evidence points to it being suicide however, Maggie can’t seem to reconcile the results because she knew that her husband of 24 years was not suicidal and was, in fact, happy and content, that Sunday when she last saw him. So why then? The answer came in the form of a letter, addressed to her, and written by her deceased husband. What follows is a dangerous game where she’s forced to participate despite being utterly clueless. There are no rules and it will only end when she’s dead.

Think The Blacklist meets Jason Bourne but with a common citizen as a main character. I say “common citizen” because more often than not I found myself scolding the MC for her poor choices. I have to remind myself that it is to be expected of her relatively sheltered character.

Well researched and well written story!

Oh my gosh I literally was up all night reading this. It was so worth the lack of sleep. I started reading this novel early in the day and could not force myself to stop. It was so good that I wish I could go back and force myself to slow down, reread it and savor every moment. I loved this novel.

This book was sent to me electronically by Netgalley for review. Thanks to the publisher and the author. Mystery and intrigue. The main character is a doctor who loses her husband to a supposed suicide. She is in danger as she looks for clues he left her. The journey, along with the antics of her husband’s mother, keep the novel moving. Red herrings keep the reader guessing. Enjoy

This was sensational!! Such a clever novel and this author really is the master of suspense.

When Maggie's husband is found dead in their London home, she thinks it is the result of a home robbery. But then she is told he took his own life. Except Will wasn't suicidal, he was the happiest he'd ever been. As the funeral finishes and Maggie begins clearing out their holiday home in Croatia, she finds a message written by Will, leading her to believe there was more to his death. As the story continues, the secrets keep coming, but so do the people that will try and prevent Maggie from getting to the truth.

This one was action packed from the very beginning and I read this late into the night. I was intrigued by the events that unfolded in this twisted plot driven mystery. I thoroughly enjoyed the different locations in the novel, that added to the intrigue and this was one of my favourites so far by the author.

Thanks to NetGalley and Raven Street Publishing for the gifted advance copy.

If you want a read that feels like putting on an old sweater, warm and comforting, this is NOT that book. Instead, this stand-alone whiplash inducing page turner takes the reader on a ride creating suspense at new and arresting heights. Though I am used to Bryndza’s brilliance, this time he topped himself. He is his own brand of sizzlin’ bacon, I swear. I poured through this in a day and a half, not wanting to part with the story and characters.
When Dr. Margaret (Maggie) Kendell, a trauma surgeon is on duty in the ER, she is forced to confront a newly admitted patient who turns out to be her husband. Unfortunately, he does not survive but is labeled as a suicide. Is it?
She leaves Britain for their beautiful holiday home in Croatia to sort out his belongings and try to relax. However, a cryptic note from her husband leads her down a slippery slope and the opened pandora’s box provides a highwire act of tight plotting with twists and turns with Maggie fighting for her life. Throw in a dirty politician and you have an explosive and engaging thriller that will knock your socks off. Don’t just read this review. If you are a fan of psychological thrillers, run for this one!

PS. I did have some quibbles with events I did not feel were fleshed out but that in no way took away from my love of this book.

As always with a Robert Bryndza novel, a thrilling ride from the first page. The beautiful but isolated setting is frightening and I had to take a break on several occasions when it got too scary for me. The writing flows from page to page, with a clever plot which all comes together in a satisfying conclusion. Great read.

Fear The Silence by Robert Bryndza was by far one of my favorite books that I have previewed this year. I read it in less than 3 days and the tension along with the amazing writing kept up until the final page. This book has everything. An amazing protagonist, scares and thrills and fear galore, beautiful scenery descriptions such that I could envision myself in the places that she was inhabiting. If you have a fear of the government and the power that is bestowed on those whom we elect, read this book. You will become paranoid. Fantastic book. I will be recommending this for a long time.

Thank you Netgalley for providing me a copy!

As I love Robert's books I was excited for Fear The Silence. First of all : The Setting!! A small croatian Island in November! This was great - I know how Islands popular in summer are during winter - and I really could imagine it. The atmosphere, rainy days, wild sea! Loved it!

I'm not a scaredy-cat usually but the story gave me the creeps - especially everything that happened in that House on the Hill! Goosebumps! And that you really never knew whom you could trust didn't make it easier :D therefore Maggie was a great character and she handled everything amazingly ( I would have given up lol ).

If you love spooky, well written stories this one is for you!

What a wild ride of a book! Robert Bryndza’s latest stand-alone novel is a slight departure from his usual novels. It is the story of a determined and strong woman. Her incredible strength takes her on a wild journey to truth and, finally, acceptance and peace. Mr. Bryndza’s characters are fully fleshed out and very life-like. I was there alongside the protagonist, witnessing all that she felt and saw.

Maggie is an emergency trauma doctor. Her husband Will used to be a forensic pathologist with a sterling reputation. About six years earlier, he changed occupations and started developing property all over the world. He and Maggie built a dream house on a small Croatian island . They have been happily married for twenty-four years.

Maggie is horrified to see Will in the ER of her hospital. He has been shot. The doctors could not save him. The pathologist states it was suicide. Will wouldn’t do that. He didn’t have any reason to. Did he? Maggie goes to her home on the island to heal.

Once there, Maggie receives a strange letter from Will. Odd things begin to happen.

So begins Maggie’s tale.

The story is very believable, save for a couple of credibility stretching moments. Suffice it to say that I was glued to the book and stayed up way past my bedtime. I have been reading Mr. Bryndza for several years and have truly enjoyed his stories.

I recommend this book to all who like psychological thrillers. It is a very good novel.

I want to thank NetGalley and Raven Street Publishing for forwarding to me a copy of this wonderful book for me to read, enjoy and review. The opinions expressed in this review are solely my own.

‘Fear the Silence’ is the new standalone novel by one of my favourite authors Robert Bryndza. This is a gripping psychological thriller that will leave you on the edge of your seat.

Maggie is a doctor who marries into a wealthy and influential family, only to discover that her husband, Will, had a dark secret. When Will is found dead, and it is revealed that he was the one who pulled the trigger, Maggie is consumed with grief and confusion. As she travels to their holiday home on a small Croatian island to sort out Will’s belongings, she discovers that the idyllic paradise is not as peaceful as it seems.

Robert Bryndza expertly weaves together a complex plot full of twists and turns that kept me gripped unable to put the book down. The story is fast-paced, and the tension builds with each passing chapter which gave me no alternative than to read in one sitting. The setting of Tišina, the small Croatian island, is atmospheric and eerie, adding an extra layer of suspense to the already tense storyline.

An excellent for fans of psychological thrillers. It is a well-written and captivating novel that will keep you hooked from beginning to end. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a thrilling and engaging read.

I would like to thank both Netgalley and Raven Street Publishing for supplying a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.
