Before I begin, my feedback is not meant to attack the author; I’m only providing my honest opinions since that was part of the agreement when I requested an ebook copy of this book. Thank you for understanding this.
This is My Personal Review:
1. Show N’ Tell
There’s too much tell. Beyond too much tell description in the book. Every chapter was written as if someone is explaining the situations and people to me rather than giving me an option to vividly imagine what I’m reading.
When I did encounter scenes that had less tell and more show, the descriptions came off quite messy. It’s like, the author put it together while rushing and didn’t add much thought to it after moving on to his tell descriptions.
2. Wattpad
The author’s writing feels similar to beginner’s stories that I used to read from the platform named Wattpad. I know that’s weird to state, but that was my own experience with this book. I don’t know about anyone else, but I literally thought this was a Wattpad story. Seriously.
3. Pedophilia
There was a scene where the main character gave off these…. Seductive compliments about a female child. The crazy thing about it, this guy even guessed what her age can be, which is in between 10-13 while still thinking about how beautiful she is in his mind. Then this dude had the nerve to befriend her father, fund her brother’s education and voice his opinions on her family like he’s in-charge of them or similar to the sort.
The same dude that has misogyny beliefs on women and refused to date again because of his cheating ex-wife. But all it takes is meeting this little girl and he’s slowly becoming all for women?
Then he decides to continue having this young lady in his life for his own personal gain…. This is pedophilia and I don’t support this.
These are the reasons why I gave The Craftman an one star rating.

A really intriguing psychological thriller, with a beautiful cover along with its amazing writing. I was blown away by how well Sam Arcot weaves this story and leaves you with this sense of tension and suspense as you also feel deeply uncomfortable as you know this will end badly for Jatin. This has a great, deep message and will stick with you after you finish this book.
How far will you go to create the perfect partner?
A psychological thriller that explores the dark and twisted mind of Jatin, a man haunted by his past and consumed by a desire for control. After his bitter divorce, Jatin wants nothing to do with women except for the one who worships him. However, this is impossible in modern India, so he decides to create the perfect partner. Using his skills as a master craftsman, he weaves a web of deceit to mold a beautiful young girl's mind into the perfect woman. But when his dream world starts to crumble, Jatin is forced to confront the harsh reality of his actions.
"The Craftsman" is a book that will stay with you long after you've finished reading it.
An exceptional psychological thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. The author expertly crafts a complex and nuanced character in Jatin, whose twisted desires and actions are both shocking and all too real. The pacing of the novel is perfect, with just the right amount of tension and suspense building to an explosive climax. Overall, I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a thrilling read with a compelling and unforgettable protagonist.
The Craftsman is a brilliantly written psychological thriller. The relationship plays an essential role in our life. And infidelity can do a serious damage. I felt sad for Jatin, for everything he has to go through but slowly and gradually as his character unlocked and I could see through his soul. He was a man letting his fears getting best of him and stopped him from living little things in life. He also set his own definition of right and wrong and how should be a woman and society. His decision was wrong. His sister Falak did not give up, she tried to help him and later Maira. But destiny is strange. I felt sorry for Maira, she didn’t get an opportunity to make her own choices or set her own definitions. She just let her fate lead her towards her destiny.
The author has created such a brilliant characters and captured the emotions so well. I realised how important it is to socialise and among people. We are easy target and anyone can manipulate us until we meet a variety of people and learn to differentiate between good and bad. It’s a must read.
