This is a good basic introduction to meditation. It contains information, meditation exercises and everything else a beginner might need. If you've been meditating for a while, and know the basics already, this book won't be for you.

Thanks to NetGalley and publishers for the ARC.

More an aide memoire than a how to meditate

This is a deliberately short book that doesn’t take long to read. If you’re new to meditation I think it would be a useful starting point. The exercises and meditations are all good but it felt a little bit light on the how to get started and develop your practise for me, hence 4 stars. Once you’re on the road it would also serve as a useful refresher.

I was given this book from the author via netgalley only for the pleasure of reading and leaving an honest review should I choose to.

I signed up for this as I am trying to get more balance, chill and zen in my down town.
I’m a little torn when it comes to reviewing this book. Parts of this seemed to offer a supportive overview on the basics of meditation and the author’s philosophies. Other sections seemed rushed also sash or missing information for someone (like me) who isn’t really sure how to proceed down a path of creating a quiet mind.
Matts voice is distinct, yet supportive, and if you’re looking for a book that will help support a reason to stick with meditation, this might be a good fit for you?
Thank you netgalley for the arc in exchange for a review.

What a simple but clear and direct guide for anyone wanting to start a meditation practice. I would definitely add some of these exercises to my classes as well as my personal practice.
