I am obsessed with this book.
It was just perfect. Finding out the reason you where ghosted in the first place by a boyfriend is him turning up at your flat but he’s a ghost…
Emily got ghosted and then a year later she has turned her life around. Eating food she never would have eaten, trying to impress the wrong people but she finds out that Andy, the guy who ghosted her actually died and now they are trying to figure out what happened to him.
Not only is this touching on the romance, the family relationships but also mystery! They need to find out what happened to Andy and I really like that added part of the story. It took turns I didn’t expect and overall fantastic.

Unfortunately this book was not for me and I ended up DNFing it. I couldn’t connect with these characters or the plot, however I do think it would be a good read for readers who have been in a similar situation.

I entered into this novel expecting it to be part murder mystery, part adult coming-of-age, with a touch of romance. It had all of these elements but sadly none of them were executed very well.
Emily was an exasperating main character. Some aspects of her were painfully relatable and thus sympathetic, but the more she went on about becoming ‘New Emily’, the more she grated on my nerves. It was sad to watch Emily try so hard to change herself to reach a standard she perceived society and the people around her held her to. Her outlook was very one dimensional when looking at others, which gave her an immature voice. I particularly didn’t like how she would make blanket stereotypical statements about the women in her office and be perpetually concerned about competing with them. As a result, Emily lost my sympathy over the course of the novel. It didn’t help that she was so self-centred.
I must admit that I was curious about how Andy died. However, Emily and Andy’s investigation was way too tedious and featured too many unnecessary diversions. This definitely needed more streamlining in the editing process. Andy himself wasn’t a particularly endearing character. He was extremely juvenile despite being thirty. The way he spoke sounded like he was stuck in adolescence.
Due to its irritating and unsympathetic main character, I was never going to find much enjoyment in this novel. I wanted to get excited about the mystery but it was too drawn out and didn’t engage me.

This was very funny - thought the concept was such a good twist on a classic rom-com and Mullender’s writing really lent itself to this story.

An enjoyable easy read. I really clicked with the author's writing style and Emily's character development. Yes she's frustrating but I suspect some would find her very relatable. I enjoyed all the other characters more minus the bad guy. Although there were aspects of this that I predicted such as the villain of the book, I'd say there were enough twists to keep the plot interesting. Overall, a light hearted, decent summer read not to be taken too seriously which was fun.

I found this very slow. I’d say the last 20% was the best as twists I hadn’t expected happened. I liked the writing but the pace was too slow for me, Emily annoyed me with the choices she made. Thanks goes to net galley and the publisher and the author for providing me with a copy in exchange for an honest review

Emily has been ghosted by the guy she's been seeing, but gets chance at some closure when he starts haunting her as a ghost. This book was so frustrating - everything Emily did made me want to shake her and I wasn't much more impressed with Andy. A good premise, but not one I enjoyed.

Thank you to NetGalley and Little, Brown Book Group, for giving me a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
I loved this book! I especially liked that Emily wasn't that likeable for a large part of the story but managed to turn it all around. Her friendship with Zoe was lovely, and Andy's story was very sad.

I really enjoyed this authors debut book and was delighted to be approved for this one, once again a warm, funny and well paced read.
I loved the premise first off, unique and intriguing from the get go. The writing once again was so quick to get straight into, and I love how there is lots of humour but also some emotional moments too, and that overall good balance all the way through.
The characters are well formed and likeable, the dialogue between them always entertaining and makes you feel engaged.
This would make a brilliant film I reckon, I could see it working really well.
A great read and one I’d recommend if you are after a romance with a twist, lots of laughs and good pacing

When Emily is Ghosted by her (sort of) boyfriend Andy, she blocks him and moves on but what she doesn’t expect is for him to turn up in her flat months later as an actual ghost!
This was such a fun read and I loved that it had many references to her previous book and even the main character makes an appearance - I love when books do that!
It was fast paced and funny and had me laughing out loud on the bus, a great rom-com (if I can call it a rom com? I’m not sure if I can 😂)

Such a cute and funny read! Since I first read the description I was intrigued. I was so happy when I got this book and read it in like 2 days.

This book was really cute in some ways. When the ghost of a man the MC thought had ghosted her appears in her apartment, Emily works on helping him understand how he died, so that he can move on. This also takes her on a journey where she questions what she wants in life, as well as learns to be thankful for what she has, instead of trying to run away from her past.
It’s adorable in places, but I felt that the central mystery could have been paced better. Either way, a great weekend read.

This is a contemporary mystery with a touch of romance. I found this really entertaining and funny.. It is about a young woman who finds out that her ex is a ghost that is haunting her and she must discover how he died to help him move on.
I love this type of story. It was charming and funny and heartfelt but it was not without its flaws. I am someone that finds social commentary in books quite irritating if it doesn't blend in seamlessly which was not the case here unfortunately.
3.25 stars - thank you Netgalley for the ARC and the best of luck to the author in their future career.

A fun, light-hearted mystery! I was in the middle of a bad slump so decided to pick up Ghosted and it really helped! Mullender's writing is super funny and engaging and Emily was just such a fun character to read about! Really looking forward to the authors other works

While I enjoyed reading this I found the main character, Emily, to be very unlikeable. The rest of the characters, in particular Andy and Zoe were great and the story was fun and easy to read. I did enjoy the story so I gave it four stars but I had to dock one for Emily and the references to class and where people come from and Emilys desperation to separate herself from where she came from didn't sit well with me but it didn't detract from the story as a whole. Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC of this book for an honest review.

What do you do when your ex is ghosting you? Pull out an ouija board obviously, but what happens when you find out that your ex hasn’t in fact ghosted you but instead he’s actually a ghost! I loved this concept so much, such a fun romcom I loved it !

A phenomenal concept wonderfully executed, I really enjoyed this book. Once of my top five of the year I think. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced cop of the book in exchange for a review.

Absolutely amazing book ...loved every minute of it .....would defo reccomend to.anyone 10/10 !!!!!will read more by this author :)

This is a fabulously written five-star read. I didn’t know what to expect with this one, and I will be honest new Emily isn’t someone I liked very much, but my goodness she has a good nose on her. When it all comes to light about Andy, it was such a thought-provoking situation, what really happened and as you put the pieces together it is done in a really nice way, you get the hint but not the whole story and that was such a nice way to the story unfolding. This really is a well written story about finding yourself and has a great way of pulling you into the story. This is a great rom com and one you would be sorry to miss.

Emily is trying to present the perfect life to the men she meets on dating apps. Growing up in what is deemed a 'rough' area she is now trying to make it as a high flyer in London. When she meets Andy through Twitter, he gets an insight into what sort of person she really is and not the perfect poached egg pics. They were together a few months and then he stopped answering her calls. But all is not as it seems and Emily wasn't quite ghosted in the way she thought. I thought this was a really interesting concept and it was a funny and sweet read that I thoroughly enjoyed.
