Description

Meet Andy: GSOH, emotionally available and... well, dead. Meet Emily: the girl Andy ghosted. No, literally...

A year ago, Emily was ghosted. But it's fine, she's over it. Plus, she's far too busy working on herself to be haunted by her past.

That is... until his name is spelled out on a Ouija board at a party, and she learns that he didn't ghost her after all. He died. And just as she's trying to work out how she feels about that, Andy turns up in her flat as a ghost.

Andy needs Emily's help: he can't move on until he solves the mystery of his death. But as they spend more time together, Emily is reminded of just how right Andy was for her. And just how drop dead gorgeous he was - and still is.

And suddenly laying her ghosts to rest becomes a lot harder than she first thought...

A hilarious and feel-good rom com, perfect for fans of Ashley Poston's The Dead Romantics, Erin Sterling's The Ex Hex or anything by Emily Henry.

This is a fabulously written five-star read. I didn’t know what to expect with this one, and I will be honest new Emily isn’t someone I liked very much, but my goodness she has a good nose on her. When it all comes to light about Andy, it was such a thought-provoking situation, what really happened and as you put the pieces together it is done in a really nice way, you get the hint but not the whole story and that was such a nice way to the story unfolding. This really is a well written story about finding yourself and has a great way of pulling you into the story. This is a great rom com and one you would be sorry to miss.

This fabulous, well written rom-com, really lifted my spirits (no pun intended!). The romantic elements, coupled with the 'whodunnit/how did he die' mystery kept the story interesting and kept me invested in finding out how it all turned out in the end. The tongue in cheek humour, coupled with slapstick moments, did have me smiling and almost laughing out loud at times and although many parts of the story are predictable, there are some huge surprises along the way. The characters are likeable and relatable; especially Emily, who is obsessed with trying way too hard to change herself, so that she can be accepted by others who are clearly not worthy. In terms of the romance, like Emily, I was so focussed on the saga between Andy and Oliver, that I didn't see what was in front of me, so the romantic twist at the end came as a massive surprise to both Emily and myself! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story and feel like at the end, there should be a statement saying 'and the morale of the story Gals is ..... be true to yourself and don't try to change who you are, when it's likely you are perfect exactly as you are' .... (or something to that effect). A huge thanks to NetGallery and Little Brown Book Group Ltd for allowing me to get a copy of the book, which is out on July 13, 2023 - It's a perfect book to take away with you on holiday this Summer.

Ghosted by Rosie Mullender is a hilarious and charming romantic comedy with a supernatural twist. The story revolves around Emily, who has been ghosted by Andy and is determined to move on and become a new version of herself. However, when Andy's name appears on a Ouija board and he shows up as a ghost in her flat, Emily is forced to confront her unresolved feelings and help him solve the mystery of his death.

Mullender's writing is witty and filled with laugh-out-loud moments, making it an entertaining read from start to finish. The banter between Emily and Andy is delightful, and their chemistry shines through even in their unusual circumstances. The author skilfully balances humour with heartfelt moments, creating a story that is both light-hearted and emotionally resonant.

The characters are relatable and endearing, with Emily's journey of self-discovery and growth at the forefront. As she navigates between her new life and the unresolved past, readers are treated to a heartfelt exploration of love, loss, and the complexities of moving on.

Ghosted is a refreshing take on the romantic comedy genre, infusing it with a supernatural twist that adds an extra layer of intrigue and humour. It's a delightful and engaging read that will captivate fans of romantic comedies and those looking for a light-hearted yet meaningful story. Mullender's clever blend of humour, romance, and the supernatural make this novel a standout in its genre.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for providing me with an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Ghosted is a terrifically well done story. Reading about the journey of Emily and Andy really put a smile on my face at the end. Emily’s story of finding and accepting herself was relatable, enjoyable to read.
