I enjoyed this book! It didn’t fully stand out to me against other self help books, but i enjoyed it
"Stop Overthinking and Get Your Act Together" by Lara J. Noble is a refreshing guide for anyone battling the constant whirlwind of overthinking. As someone who tends to overthink everything, I resonated with the author's insights that encouraged me to confront and manage my anxiety. This book serves as a beacon of hope, offering practical advice and a newfound sense of clarity. Special thanks to NetGalley and Booksgosocial for providing a copy that genuinely made a positive impact on my perspective.
This was a really interesting book and it raised a lot of things that I think is really important to know as a reference. I don’t think this is the end. I’ll be all all this is one of the only books I can change your life but I think this is one of many that is very good to read, especially if you were trying to work on yourself and get yourself into a better mind space and heads set. I would highly recommend, and I will definitely be reading more from this author in the future.
With the constant bombardment of information (real or not so much), it's easy to get overwhelmed by the day to day.
Author Noble talks readers through how to find balance and calm when the chaos around us seems to take over and keep us unproductive.
Whether it's to find ways to clear your head for work or play, her simple steps can break the cycle of negativity and soul-sucking second-guessing.
With less than 200 pages, it's a quick and informative read that can change a good day to a great one.
I received an ARC from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
Thank you to Netgalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Overthinking does interfere with life. Some good points and tips in this book. Well-written and informative. Recommended.
This book was an arc I received via Netgalley. Thanks to Netgalley and ofcourse the author Lara J. Noble.
I always like to read more about human behavior, especially when concerning the brain. So a book about overthinking, which I know I can do often as well, was especially interesting. However, the book didn't really get into the topic as I had expected. It more or less gives you information about what overthinking is and means in different situations and at the end of every chapter it gives you tips on how to improve your behavior (and overthinking) in these situations. Since I already read more about overthinking, there weren't a lot of new things I have learned from the book, but it still was a good book to remind you of certain habits and how to alter these to better behavior. For people who like to know more about overthinking and how to get their behavior back on track, I can imagine this book might come in handy. I gvae the book 3 stars.
Unfortunately I ran out of time to read it. I thought I had more time than I did. But I really enjoyed what I did read of it. It was very insightful. I'm definitely going to pick it up when it's out to finish it.
A quick read, a bit generic since this was all information I've encountered before quite easily online. Definitely good tips for mild anxiety like mine, but doesn't go in much depth or present anything new.
As a person struggling with overthinking and anxiety, this book found me just at the right time. The explanations and advise were helpful and will be used in my day-to-day life. Thank you, NetGalley and the author for the opportunity to find and read this book.
If you tend to overthink things or worry about stuff that might not even happen. Then this book is for you. The tips and strategies are really simple and easy to use.
First of all, I thought this book was good. Not great, but just good. It contains useful information, but nothing that you can't find anywhere else. While well written, and with many tips on reframing thoughts, gratitude etc... It only really touched the surface and I don't feel it's a book for someone with anything more than mild anxiety. I also don't personally feel that "get your act together" is the right phraseology - it's very harsh. Basically, this book may prove useful for someone with mild anxiety who has never read anything on overthinking before. However, it's rather limited.
This is just the book I need right now. Moving house has just sent me into a spiral of worrying "what if's". It did calm me and gave me strategies to cope. A great little book that I will keep close by me.
First of all, I wanna thank Netgalley for letting me read this amazing arc.
I really enjoyed to read this book, it was what I needed at the moment.
It was so relatable and had so precious tips that I took a bunch of print screens to keep it has a reminder.
I was sorry when the book was over because I needed more.
If you want a nice book about overthinking this is absolutly a great choice!

{ I just reviewed Stop Overthinking And Get Your Act Together by Lara J. Noble. } #StopOverthinkingAndGetYourActTogether #NetGalley
I asked to read this book as I loved the title and as someone who struggles with anxiety I thought it would be something that might help me, It is helpful if you have never looked into this issue before, it’s easy to read and follow, but it’s nothing I haven’t been told or read before and unfortunately although I know most things I should be doing, try telling my brain the same thing lol. One thing I did find interesting though was the type of stress head I am, which is a catastrophiser so I shall have to work harder at quieting my mind.
This book is all about overthinking and steps to embrace it. The author explains that overthinking is very common, and we should just embrace it and think that it is very common and leave it at that. And then the author provides great exercises to practice mindfulness and how you can practice conscious living.
Overall, it is a great insightful book with practical solutions on conscious thinking.
Lara Noble's STOP OVERTHINKING AND GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER is that rarest and most wonderful of self-help books: she describes clearly and succinctly the patterns and habits of thinking that keep us from living in the moment, from enjoying our lives, and evolving. I found myself scribbling notes and nodding agreement throughout. I particularly appreciated how straightforward she is in describing and helping resolve the thorniest and most terrible ways we keep ourselves small. I received a copy of this book and these thoughts are my own, unbiased opinions.
Just what I needed to read to help my thought process! Excellent book & made me feel less alone in that “overthinking world” I feel myself in.
Enjoyed the breakdown of understanding & overcoming overthinking.
Recommend to those needing a bit of insight into their own mind, how to settle their thoughts & redirect them into positive things/energy!
A short, concise overview of the different types of thinking that lead to rumination and solid suggestions for how to get one's life back on track. I found the affirmations and review of cognitive distortions very helpful and one is able to get some ideas to try without having to read hundreds of pages, which was also nice.
Anxiety and overthinking are quite prevalent in society, so this little book, full of solid tips and advice, could be helpful for just about everyone to read. Information is presented in a way that is easy to understand. The introduction gives an overview of what overthinking is, and the remaining chapters go over ways to try and help the reader stop overthinking. Topics such as negative thinking and perfectionism are covered, along with time management and self-discipline. Some information may not be new, but the refresher could still be helpful to readers.
This was a very quick read, at only around 86 pages.
The introduction was very good if you were looking for a primer on what overthinking is, and what can cause it.
The subsequent chapters cover ways that you can work on avoiding overthinking, and the potentrual benefits that you can achieve.
Whilst the book is simply and clearly written, there is no new information contained within it, and nothing that couldn't be found with a quick search online. It might be useful to have it compiled in one location, but don't pick up this book if you are expecting to find new tips and techniques.
