Roger and Wesley is a cute story for young readers showing the importance of friendship, and forgiveness.
The story centers around two best friends who share a favorite toy and when one accidentally breaks it they embark on fixing it and creating a shop to help their friends who also have toy’s worth saving .
The illustrations were cute and I believe children will enjoy reading about these friends.

Roger and Wesley teaches valuable lessons in a delightful and engaging way, touching on sharing, running a small business, and the importance of recycling. I couldn't help but fall in love with these adorable characters and the meaningful messages woven into their tale. This children's book is an absolute joy to read, and I highly recommend it to parents and young readers looking for a heartwarming and educational adventure.
When a toy that Roger and Wesley were playing with becomes broken, they have an ideal. Let's fix all broken toys. Opening their own toy repair shop, they were able to help others and that is what it is all about.
A fun picture book about two friends and helping others.
A special thank you to Elizabeth Hastings and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.
Cute book for children that are a younger age. Great for teaching the importance of helping those around you. I thought it was a cute book.
Roger and Wesley are the best of friends, and share everything; even a favorite toy. Wesley accidentally ripped it in half by sitting on it, and they need to fix it. Suddenly, they have the best idea. Build a workshop.
While they are setting up their plan to build a workshop to fix toys for their friends, they even mention recycling the toys if they can't fix something. How awesome is that?!
"Accidents happen to everyone." is something that really stuck out to me. Children should know that accidents happen, and everybody goes through it.
This story talked about important messages. Accidents happen and that's okay. Helping others is an amazing thing, and will make everyone--including yourself, happy. If something breaks, don't worry, it may be fixable! Author, Elizabeth Hastings, put together a really heart warming book.

Oh my goodness! This is the sweetest book about two dogs whose favorite toy is broken while playing. Together they team up to fix broken toys. I love that this shows young children that accidents happen and are fixable sometimes. Thank you so much for the opportunity to read and review! This will be our bedtime story for sure tomorrow!
I love kid's books. True, as jaded adults, we often have to suspend reality but there's something to be said about allowing oneself to slip back into a time when we were enchanted by the magic of make-believe. To revisit a time when all things seemed possible. That's the case here. While the adult brain knows dogs aren't handy with tools, the child within us can just enjoy the possibility while sharing this book with an actual child. We can just sit back and enjoy. We're in a "suspend reality zone", so to speak.
I definitely liked the cover, which is what first drew me to this book. I'm predictable that way. Roger and Wesley are best friends and, as even adults know, BFF are, well, the best. Even more importantly, they not only play together but they're learned to cooperate to work together toward a goal. Seems like an appropriate concept to share with out children.
As a result, when a favorite toy is broken by accident, rather than pout and point accusing paws at each other, they decide to work together to fix it. As a result, they wind up opening their own repair shop. Oh, quit rolling your eyes. I told you this was a "suspend disbelief" zone. The rest is adorable as they also learn the joy of helping others, another great concept to emphasize. The illustrations are cute, mostly in pastel colors, realistic without being too detailed to distract from the story.
There are several take-away concepts from this story but I think that Wesley maybe summed it up best when he said it simply felt good to be able to help others. Agreed, Wesley. Thanks #NetGalley and #IndependentlyPublished for introducing me to these enterprising canines.
This is a lovely little story that can teach children about friendship and kindness. It also addresses another very important issue - the need to avoid waste and to recycle.
Roger and Wesley are two dogs who live together and one day, Wesley accidentally breaks their favourite toy by sitting on it. As they plan to repair the toy, the duo get the idea to help their other friends who also have favourite toys that they may have broken.
And with that, they open their own woof woof workshop and do a number of toy repairs, to the delight of the various friends. But also, Roger does not forget to repair Wesley's favourite toy, proving once again what good friends they are!
Cute story, cute message, cute pictures. However (and I do realize this is a kids book), the story felt a little choppy and disconnected. Of course these things don't always need to make sense in a book, especially a book with dogs that can fix toys, but I felt like the original rope toy breaking from sitting on it was strange, and the kangaroo asking for help fixing a toy before they even fixed their own. I don't know, it just could have been put together a little better I think
