Book 096 of 300 ~ 2024
🌟🌟🌟
I love the intent of the story and the little rhymy storytelling that kids will love.
The illustrations - not so much. The disproportions threw me off and didn't look professional. Given that I am poor in art, I usually gush over artists/illustrators. This time...well... let's just say I was a tad gobsmacked.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

A cautionary tale about not wandering off in the shopping mall - a good message for kids, and a story I can't fault the author for penning. However, the illustrations looked like I'd done them, and I got a D in my Art O'Level. For some reason the titular boy has a massive head. His parents have heads in proportion to their bodies, but their son has a gigantic head completely out of proportion with the rest of his body. And I don't understand why. So this annoyed me.
A delightful children's book that combines beautiful illustrations and engaging rhyming text to deliver a valuable lesson to young readers. Follow Dylan, a curious little boy who loves to explore, as he embarks on an adventure by sneaking away from his parents. Through his journey, young readers learn the importance of staying close and the potential dangers of wandering off in public places. This book strikes the perfect balance between fun and education, making it an ideal choice for parents and caregivers who want to impart important life lessons to their little ones.
This children's book is an absolute gem! With its vibrant illustrations and clever rhymes, it instantly grabs the attention of little readers. I was hooked from the first page, and as a parent, I appreciated the important lesson it teaches about staying close to our loved ones in public places. The book delivers the message in a gentle yet effective manner, making it easy for kids to understand and remember. It's a great story to read together with your little ones, encouraging valuable discussions about safety and responsibility.

The story of a curious child who wanders around a mall without his parents is well done. The author answers the who, what, when, why, and how this happened. It takes just a second.
The illustrations are simple allowing the message to dominate.
This is a great teaching tool.
FYI: I wouldn't be prepared on a whim to define kidnapping and suggest having an age-appropriate answer prior to introducing the child to the book, as well I would prepare the child's caregivers to be on the same page.
This one has a very short story with a very direct message…I liked those things about the book.
However, I did not care for the illustrations. They were a little creepy to be honest esp the child.
