I decided to read "President Trump -- Again?" by Earl Ofari Hutchinson and "corrupt" by Dick Morris together knowing that the true would lie somewhere in the middle. Well, boy, was I surprised. Mr. Hutchison's book is really just a pamphlet with very few footnotes and Mr. Morris' text was chock-s block full of references. Both books were quite strident but "President Trump -- Again? was far shriller than was "Corrupt." In short Dick Morris's book was far superior to Mr. Hutchinson's brief effort. Also, the truth can be found much closer to "Corrupt" than to its political competitor.
This book delves into the potential strategies Donald Trump might employ for the upcoming 2024 election. A significant aspect of his strategy revolves around addressing past grievances and unverified claims stemming from the 2020 election—a narrative that may resonate with a substantial portion of the electorate. So far, Trump's playbook prominently features rhetoric reminiscent of his campaigns in both 2016 and 2020.
However, in contrast to the 2016 and 2020 elections, Trump now faces the impending possibility of criminal indictments and potential convictions. These legal challenges could raise significant constitutional questions regarding his eligibility to run for president. The debate among constitutional scholars on whether a convicted felon can serve as president adds a compelling dimension to the upcoming election. Brace yourselves, as the journey to the White House in 2024 promises to be a tumultuous one.
If you have been reading about Donald Trump since he burst on the political scene several years ago, as I have, this book will not tell you much new. However, it does give you a quick review of who he is, what his presidency and beyond have been like and some of what to expect in the future. In that respect, it was somewhat useful. However, as I said, I have been following him since before he even announced his candidacy several years ago, so for me it was just a good rehash and review of what was going on with him. The author has done some research to provide what I perceive as an accurate portrayal of the former president. However, where I found it lacking was what to expect from him in the future, should there be a second Trump administration. Part of that is because he has not really given us much to go on (at least when this book was published). If you are interested in what politics holds today, it is a good read. However, it is not a very long book, so there is not that much to be gained from it. Still, it did not take me long to read it, and it was interesting. I received this from NetGalley to read and review.
"President Trump–Again?+by Earl Ofari Hutchinson is a short book. I read it in one evening. For a short book it does cover a lot of ground. And I should mention that my review copy was very current, covering events that happened just a few weeks ago. I thank Netgalley and BooksGoSocial for the privilege of reading this review copy.
Earl Ofari Hutchinson (http://www.thehutchinsonreport.net/earl-ofari-hutchinson/) reminds us of things Donald Trump has done to prepare many Republicans to accept his “big lie” that he really won the 2020 election. He discusses the implications of his many criminal indictments and his opinion of the direction of his 2024 campaign to regain the Presidency.
President Trump–Again? is a good book but a bit depressing as it considers the possibility of a felon as President.
PRESIDENT TRUMP—AGAIN? by Earl Ofari Hutchinson is a short book that can be easily read in one sitting. It is written in a simple, direct style and offers a summary of what happened around the 2020 election from the Democrat point of view.
Could a convicted felon actually become president of the USA? Hutchinson would like us to consider this question. Thank you, BooksGoSocial and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read and review PRESIDENT TRUMP—AGAIN?
