I love, love the TV series "Ghosts". This was a sample and I now need to read the full book. Such great characters.

I received a sampler of Ghosts. From what I'm seen it looks to be a fantastic compilation of clippings and documents that delve into the hidden stories of the individuals from the show. As a devoted fan of the show, I think this book would be a great companion, shedding light on the creative origins of the characters now that the show has concluded. This fascinating glimpse behind the scenes is certain to enthral fellow enthusiasts of the series, making it a perfect Christmas gift (or any gift) choice for those who share a passion for the show.

A fun idea for fans of the BBC tv’s Ghosts; this sample is from what looks like it is a scrap book of documents, emails, newspaper reports and letters from the writers (and actors) of the programme.

I’ve found myself reading out lots of snippets and asking my partner to guess which character? He’s laughed out loud and guessed all correctly as we are fans.

I reckon you could use Mary’s instructions to weave a basket, if only I had the energy to go and cut some willow!

An ideal present.

I love Ghosts, so it was great to have the opportunity to see a sampler of the accompanying book.

Unfortunately it was almost impossible to read on my Kindle due to the layout of the pages. However this won’t be a problem with the actual book.

A must buy for any Ghost fan, I can see this will be going on some Christmas wish lists.

A really nice snap shot of the beloved TV series. Maybe slightly more double entendres than expected, so not one for little kids ( although they'd probably miss them the way I did in Allo Allo when I was little). Would make a great Christmas gift.

The text was quite small on the file that I was given which made it very difficult to read. I think that I will put this on my list for Christmas as I would like to find out more - Ghosts has been one of my favourite sitcoms of recent years. However, this sampler was not produced in a format which makes it easy to read. I suspect it may not be a book which is particularly suited to an e-format. Still, it gave a vague idea of content and that was useful for helping me figure out that I wanted to take a closer look.

I was sent a sampler even though I have now bought the whole book. Ghosts is such a lovely, gentle, heart warming show and this is the perfect companion to it for insights and little behind the scenes snippets of each character. It's perfect, an absolute must for any fan of the show.

A lovely coffee table book to dip into, with interesting background snippets to the characters from Button Hall, presented in varying formats - letters, photographs, diaries ...
Adds to the enjoyment of the gentle comedy series, Ghosts.

It took me some time to manage to read this sampler. First of all, it is unreadable on a paperwhite kindle but fortunately I remembered you can send NetGalley books to your computer. After several attempts this worked and I was in. .

I have already decided this will go on my wish list for Christmas. I love the TV series. It's so well done and so poignant especially when we get insights into the ghosts' lives before they were dead. The book (or at least this sampler) is very much about getting to know the characters better. Thus we have an account of Mary's trial as a witch (oh Mary, how I sobbed when you were sucked off), letters from Thomas to his beloved (who can't recall meeting him) TV pages to give us a clue as to what they like to watch and so on. I can't wait for Christmas!

A great sampler for the book - and a lovely way to get even more fun out of Ghosts. I enjoyed it so much I have bought the full book!

Not possible to review, as I only had a sampler, which was impossible to read on a kindle as my version of Kindle wouldn't enlarge it. But it looked interesting and I'm sure it would make a good gift book.

A must for any ‘Ghosts’ fans! I love the programmes and would love to receive this in my Christmas stocking this year! I love the humour of this series and whilst I have only seen a sample of the book, it is spot on. I especially love the Julian character and there were two very amusing sections concerning him in this small example. I am so going to miss the tv series and this would be a glorious reminder of this gem of tv.

Absolutely wonderful. Just like the series, it combines hilarity with a little touch of sadness. I'm not normally one for buying merch related to entertainment, but I'll be laying out hints on this one as a Christmas pressie - and if no one steps up, I may treat myself in the new year, perfect to combat the January blues. From Mary's hilarious (but accurate) instructions on weaving, to tales of Pat's previous near-misses (condor, anyone?!), this is a great option for when you're not re-watching the series.

I received an advance copy for free from NetGalley, on the expectation that I would provide an honest review.

A definite must for fans of 'Ghosts', the TV series on BBC which is unfortunately ending. It's the perfect Christmas present to dip in and out of with the sample I have seen with hilarious backgrounds to the characters involved. I shall certainly be buying it for Christmas for a person in my life who loves this show.

Delightful — and sometimes poignant — details of the ghosts we have come to love! This is a book to dip into and smile. It would make an excellent Christmas stocking filler for fans of the television show. (What a shame this series will be its last!)

The snippets shared were selected pages from the book, copies of files & cuttings about the ghosts for example we see an extract of a book on table etiquette Lady Button wrote, we learn that Pat has been the laughing stock of his Adventure Group more than once and that Julian really did sent an e-mail, with one finger, on Mike’s laptop. The snippets added to knowledge of the characters from the show. It was a joyful read and I fully intend to purchase the book to share with my family as we are all fans of the show.

Huge thanks to the authors and publishers for this ARC sample, I loved it. I’’m a massive fan of Ghosts and the little files and notes on each character were hilarious. Five stars from me.

After watching all the ghosts series on TV with my family reading a sample to see if appropriate for my children was a perfect opportunity.

The photography and settings of each page was really placed together and written well. Covering various ghosts of Button House. For instance Juilian the pm showed a transcript of when he claimed for the building of a community swimming pool in his garden. Newspaper cuttings of scout days out with Pat when things went wrong. Whilst reading you can really visualise the ghosts and their sayings and character.

However as much as I wanted to love this sample, It doesn't make you laugh out loud. Instead it's a light hearted summary of all the ghosts backgrounds which would be a nice summary after finishing watching the TV series.
