Verônica comes out of a coma following an accident, and cannot remember the last ten years. It turns out she is the wife of John Lewis,a millionaire, who has died. Veronica tries to get information to find out about her missing years, while strange things happen around her, and she isn't sure what is real. The anticipation builds up but the revelation is a bit flat.
Vonny Kwan wakes up in a Nevada hospital, the victim of a hit-and-run accident she doesn’t remember. As she struggles to recover from her injuries, she learns that she also has no memory of the past nine years, including her marriage and what she was even doing in the West.
Great mystery, excellent twists, I never saw the ending coming.
My thoughts:
What this book IS:
A fast-paced, plot-driven mystery with lots of tension and some good twists.
What this book ISN’T:
This isn’t a book that dives into character development. The characters were fine, there was definitely some growth, but I wasn’t particularly attached to any of them or how the ending affected them.
💕You might like this book if:

I did not finish this one, it was not for me, I couldn't relate to the characters, and just did not care for the story.
The Last Liar standing centers on a woman who has found herself waking in a hospital and cannot remember the last decade of her life.
While there detectives inform her that her husband has been murdered.
To solve the crime she must regain or piece together the memories that are gone.
To do so means that everyone in her life is a suspect .
This book kept me on the edge of my seat
Excellent beginning with knowing details about an uncertain life, such as how Vonny bonded with her nurse and didn’t want to leave the safety of the hospital, and how she was afraid to sleep upstairs in the bed she had shared with John. But once she regains her memories, the story is glossed over. How did she morph from student jeans and t-shirt to zillions of couture gowns? How did Cheryl not get caught for flying students into her home parties? John was a stock romance figure. Other than being handsome, rich, and adoring, he had no personality. The book’s ending comes out of nowhere and is too abrupt.
Aa an Asian-American woman, I liked one as a protagonist, but did Vonny really float through life with that never being an issue?
One minor pet peeve - John’s coffee cup on the counter should have been filled with mold after sitting out that long.
Vonnie wakes up with amnesia and cannot remember the last 9 years of her life. She was in a hit and run accident and has to learn to come to terms with little she can remember. Things get even more complicated when her husband John is murdered and it just keeps going from there. Lots of twists and turns, especially at the end. I enjoyed this book and thank you to NetGalley for this edition.
This book reads like a classic whodunit and is full of fun surprises. It's written in first person so you become part of the story and the short chapters make it a quick escape. I enjoyed the feeling of not knowing what was real and putting the puzzle pieces of the mystery together. This would make a great movie and I look forward to reading more from this author.
Amnesia stories are my favorite so of course I was hooked from the start of this book and the whole way through! The writing, pace, and length were all great and I loved the main character Vonny.
Could NOT put this one down, hooked you from page 1. I didn’t see the ending coming.
Vonny wakes up and doesn’t remember the last 10 years of her life. She finds out her husband is murdered. Who did it? What happened in the last 10 years? Her life looks vastly different than it once did. Trying to figure out who she is while trying to figure out what happened to her husband.
