I wanted to read this book because I wanted a cute fall romance. With the cover and title, I felt like that would meet that need for me. And it did! I felt as if the beginning of the book was a little slow for me to get into, but that may have been because it took me a second to get used to the British accents and words. I noticed I started really getting into the book and falling for the characters whenever I was screaming at Romilly for not picking up on how terrible a certain someone was. I wanted to be like RUUUNNNN!!!! Also, who doesn’t love a single mom taking over her life in a small town and saving a local business? Truly, just soooo cute. Overall, it really hit that need that I wanted to read a fall book!
****SPOILER INFO I gave this a 4 out of 5 stars mainly because I wanted more romance and info about Romilly and Mr. Barton. Maybe more about some dates they went on or something?
I have to say, what a clever wordplay in the title.
For the Love of Coffee is a sweet, cozy comfort read set in a countryside. Romilly and her daughters were the heart of this books. They carried it on their for real. The romance was just a bonus to be honest. I enjoyed reading about Romilly and her daughters more.
Some cute moments but confusing at times and while I understand she left her husband it is never discussed that they divorced yet she was also moving on romantically.
A heartwarming cozy romance set in a wonderful countryside village. There was an amazing mix of characters that were fun to get to know. The storyline is unique, entertaining and interesting as well as believable. The book offers love, laughter, friendship and family. A wonderful read.
Romilly Greene is a people pleaser, but as the cracks in her marriage start to show, her feelings of being trapped and her life being unfulfilled lead her to escape, with her daughters, to the small village of Melstock.
This was a cute, cozy book. I really love the relationship between Romilly and her daughters, and the things she does for them. The romance was just okay for me, but overall it was an enjoyable read. I liked the cozy community feeling of the book more than the romance. 🙂
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the advanced digital reader's copy (ARC) in exchange for an honest review!
I am going to do another review on Goodreads tomorrow but as I’ve just finished it I wanted to write one on here while all the feelings are fresh.
I would like to say I throughly enjoyed this book. The fact she didn’t fall madly in love with the first guy she saw in the new town was such a nice change of pace and I found it extremely refreshing that it wasn’t until halfway through the book that was open to possibility of liking the teacher (obviously the better choice), especially as Mark was introduced as the guy who was going to sweep her off of her feet.
I also want to say how much I love the representation between her and her kids. The genuine love and care she has for them is so heartwarming to read, especially in chapter 6 when she was reminiscing about them when they were small and the leisure centre. I haven’t really read a book before which has that sheer love represented so throughly of the love that a parent has for her kids, and that this wasn’t solely about her finding a new man.
I will say I was initially drawn in by the cover and the title (as i’m a big coffee lover), and I am really glad I got to read this.
I'm not a coffee drinker. But even this book made me want to grab a cuo of coffee at multiple pointa. It's fun and feel good.
you had me at Coffee. this book gave me the feels. i was drawn by the title of the book and then i was sucked in completely. really liked this and want to find more of her books.
