Well written with well developed characters this lovely interesting story was a really nice read.
Set in the 1920’s a nurse called Angel is trying to come to terms with the loss of her fiancé.
He died in France when angel was working in the hospital there with her friend Edith.
Angel has a new job her friend Edith recommended her too near where Edith lives.
The job is at The Angel Inn looking after the owners sick daughter Alice.
Angel begins to settle in & feels she could be happy here if only her secrets can stayed buried.
Good storyline that kept me interested.

A good read. When Angel accepts a nursing position to help Alice recover from a nasty infection she soon becomes settled into the family but her friend Edith who originally recommended her for the position and who she worked with during the war has a secret that could make things very difficult for Angel. As she starts to enjoy her life with the family and gets closer to Rob who owns the The Angel inn could she begin to find happiness again or will secrets from the past be exposed by a jealous Edith

Angel is employed as a nurse for a little girl called Alice, who is part of the Macdonald family, they also run the local inn which is called The Angel Inn,

It is the 1920’s an Angel is still missing and grieving for her fiancé who died in France, while Angel was working in the hospital in France with her friend Edith.

None of the other nurses in France liked Edith but Angel is best friend with Edith and trusts her implicitly, and now Edith has found Angel a job near her looking after Alice Angel is overwhelmed with gratitude.

As Angel settles into her new life and job she starts enjoy her life again and meets lots of new friends that makes her feel safe and content.

But maybe not all is as it seems and the past is never far away!!

Great story with a plethora of characters that make the story interesting and intriguing, well written with also a feel good storyline.

Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

I loved reading this book.

It is about Angel, a nurse, who arrives at The Angel, to care for Alice following an illness. Edith who previously worked with Angel put her name forward to Rob.

But Edith knows a secret of Angel.

Will Angel be able to live with Rob, his children and Aunt Hetty.?

I couldn’t put this book down, had you turning the pages, wanting to know what happens next

I recommend this book.

Oh I love this authors work, a delightful read from start to finish, set in Suffolk 1924, Angel's story as a nurse living in the Angel Inn, and becomes close to her employee Robert Macdonald, but will the secrets of her past be left there, A outstanding read, full of warmth and heart breaking chapters I loved it.

Suffolk, 1924: After the death of her fiancé in the field hospitals of France, Angel becomes a nurse to the MacDonald family in the small village of Uffasham. Taking residence at the appropriately named Angel Inn, she is met by many new faces - and old ones too. Edith, a fellow nurse from the war, while taking an interest in Angel's new life, refuses to let her forget her old one. As Angel grows closer to her employer, Robert, Edith threatens to explore a secret that could ruin everything.

This story tells of the hardship life brought after the war. Food was still rationed, people had to learn to be serf=sufficient by growing their own veg. Jobs were scarce, and the soldiers and nurses were coming home. Life wasn't easy. This is a tale of romance and jealousy. It's both heartbreaking and heartwarming in equal measure. This book is easy to read with a satisfactory ending, even though it's a bit predictable.

I would like to thank #NetGalley #BonnierBooksUK #Zaffre and the author #SheilaNewberry for my ARC of AngelsWish in exchange for an honest review.

This book is full of strong characters, especially Angelina (Angel) Rossellini who returns from nursing in France during the war to work in a small village as nurse to Alice MacDonald. Angel has secrets she thinks are left behind in France, will they follow her!

I loved that there was always something going on to keep your attention, the strange character names, Bugler, ginger biscuits etc.
My favourite was Aunt Hetty, everyone needs someone like this in their family. I have to say I strongly disliked Edith from the start, what a formidable character. Jess I feel would have helped anyone.
The suspense until the end, and I didn’t see that coming.

A beautifully written story. I loved reading about Angel and her life with the MacDonald family in Uffasham. Edith a so called friend held a secret that Angel was worried about it getting out as she fell in love with Robert. I loved how the story unfolded and how slowly the "secret" came to light. Robert was so understanding, quite rightly IMHO, and really took the wind out of Edith's sails. A warm and touching story.

Angel's Wish by Sheila Newberry

Set a few years after ww1 , and with the loss of her fiance in France , Angel is trying to make a new life for herself in the Suffolk village of Uffasham.
However a former colleague of her Edith is not about to let Angel forget what happened whilst they were nurses during the war.
Yet again the author has written a wonderful story of people's lives and struggles of the era . She somehow managed to capture this perfectly.
A great read.
