This kid-accessible and grounded guide to emotions is the perfect companion for introducing ourselves and our families to healthy ways to process big internal experiences. When we don’t have the proper labels or tools for reacting to our internal states, things can quickly start to feel overwhelming and messy. I love how this kid-friendly guide tackles this problem head-on by sorting emotions into two straight-forward categories: “inner guides” and “inner guards”. This was a really refreshing way of viewing it for myself, as well! As a new mom, I honestly needed the simple explanations and reminders, too. I also appreciated how the guide goes into detail, describing all of the inner guides that we have access to, and providing tips on how to build more robust relationships with each of them through activities (like gratitude journaling) and somatic techniques (like tapping). This is something I am definitely going to share with my toddlers and seek out again as my children get older!
Young people are not spared from emotional turmoil, and it is never too early to share tactics for emotional regulation, An excellent book for young readers -- and the adults in their lives -- to gain skills to identify and understand their emotions, so they can effectively deal with difficult emotions in everyday situations. Seema Desai knows her audience well, and writes in an accessible and relatable language for children. Practical skills offer young people insights into their thoughts and feelings. By knowing oneself, young people will know and practice strategies to cope and behave in self-nurturing and socially acceptable ways. It is important to emphasize the lessons of kindness, humility, and care for others. If teachers have an opportunity to share lessons from the book in their classrooms, it might help them with managing challenging behaviors.
A remarkable children's book that offers young readers and their families a valuable guide to navigating emotions and fostering empathy. The book's concept of connecting one's inner world with the outer world is beautifully presented through engaging storytelling and practical tips. It empowers kids to embrace their emotions, make choices, and inspire positive change in themselves and the world around them. Connected is not only a tool for personal growth but also a way to promote kindness and understanding in today's youth. It's a must-read for families looking to nurture emotional intelligence and empower their children to become empathetic leaders.

This book helps you understand your feelings, deal with tough stuff, and become a superhero of kindness and understanding. It's like a friendly guide for kids, and I think every kid should read it. Trust me, it's awesome!
A fine book for young people teaching them how to maintain emotional sanity through life, via discovering your inner guides. It is a pleasant and motivating book, well explained for the younger mind set, and I believe the book is a good contribution to self esteem and to maintaining sanity and how to cope with life's difficulties. Helpful, indeed.
