This book is really cute and has an excellent message of self acceptance. It doesn't matter what you look like. I think it is a great way to teach youngsters the differences that people have.

This is an amazing children's book, which I loved! The story is one which teaches children about accepting themselves just the way they are, even if they feel different to others.

Sky the Snowman accidentally gets dyed blue and he feels different from the other snowpeople, so he asks Santa to help him. Santa does some magic on Christmas Day, which helps Sky to feel better.

This is a magical tale, which made me feel warm and happy inside.

All children will love this book, as it has a heartwarming story, beautiful images and easy to read text. It is just all so sweet and delightful and it would make the perfect Christmas gift. Highly recommended!

Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book.

A perfect Christmassy, Winter bedtime story for the little ones. Sky is not like other snowmen, because Sky is sky blue instead of snow white! This makes some of the children laugh at him or be scared of him, which makes him sad. This lovely little Christmas story explores the idea of self-acceptance and how it's okay and even good to be different, you shouldn't want to change yourself to make yourself "normal". Subtly done though, the story of Sky is a cute one with beautiful illustrations the kids will love.

"Sky the Snowman" by Julia Zheng is a children's picture book about a snowman who gets accidentally dyed sky blue color. Sky knows he is different from other snowmen, and he thinks kids are laughing at him. He feels bad. He writes to Santa to ask him to change him back to a white snowman. Instead, Santa sends a note to the kids in his neighborhood, asking them to color their snowmen in bright colors. When they do that, Sky feels so much better. The pictures are precious. The story is heartwarming. Highly recommended as a read aloud picture book for young children.

Thank you to Netgalley and BookBuzz.Net for providing me with a digital copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This story was a fun little tale teaching little ones all about self-acceptance. The story is beautifully written by Julia Zheng. The heartwarming story is about a snowman who ended up being accidentally colored blue from some dye. This made the snowman who was named Sky for the blue sad and wanted to wish Santa to make him white again. Along the way he meets some friends who help him see his perfect self just the way he is. Soon he meets more snowmen who are all kinds of colors and they are happy just the way they are. Sky sees being different is his gift and embraces the uniqueness of himself. I love the encouraging message the story gives to my little ones. My son often struggles with being the odd one out, he is on the autism spectrum. This was a comforting story for him and did an excellent job teaching children to love who they are. We received this as an ebook ARC but will definitely be adding it to our home collection. It makes a great bedtime story and a gift for others as well. You will enjoy this story and just in time for winter

Although I see where this book is trying to send a message of inclusivity and self-love, it lacks in the message for young minds around the main reason being the color of the snowman. The theme of race and ethnicity is brought into view with this message and I feel it could be redirected to a different aspect "Sky".

The artwork is beautiful and very sweet.

The story of Sky, the blue snowman, is a touching tale that teaches young readers about the value of uniqueness and kindness. As Sky wishes to return to his original white self, children will learn an important lesson about accepting and celebrating who they are. The book's charming narrative and delightful illustrations make it a perfect bedtime story that not only entertains but also imparts a meaningful message.

Sky was a blue snowman, who didn't always like being different. One Christmas, Sky asked Santa to help make him. Santa had all of the children in the neighborhood help Sky feel better about himself. This book is a great way to show kids that its okay to be different and kindness goes a long way.

So happy to get a chance to read another children’s book from this talented author. This is now the third book I have and shared with my grandchildren.
The stories are slightly different as they try to convey a deeper meaning/emotion for our young minds to grasp and talk about with you.
Here we have the story of Sky, named to reflect the colour of the skies above. Things were always so, and although his personality and care for others hasn’t changed, his outward differences upset some and many like to tease him.

Literally this makes him feel blue.

I enjoyed sharing this modern tale of discrimination and how one’s self-awareness and self-esteem can be influenced by unkind words and open discrimination.

What I liked best was there are no simple remedies and solutions to being different and prejudices stem from the fear of not all being the same. Celebration of difference; the joy of being unique can be liberating and the more we embrace that in everyone the more positive our mental well-being is and for them.

SKY THE SNOWMAN by Julie Zheng is a children’s Christmas story focusing Sky, a snowman, accidentally dyed blue. Rejected and laughed at by the neighborhood children, Sky wrote a letter to Santa, asking for something to change his color back to white.

SKY THE SNOWMAN is a story of bullying and discrimination, self-acceptance and love for children four to eight years of age. The images are colorful and bright; the prose is easy to understand with a sweet moral of acceptance, self esteem and recognition. A quick, sweet and wonderful story.
