Thanks NetGalley and The audio publisher for an audio copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
The story follows Natalie as the navigates the theatre world as a Theatre Manager and the crazy people surrounding her. The Hollywood A lister hired to play Macbeth, the American business partner, the namaste boyfriend, the theatre rival ex fiancee she just might regret leaving at the alter, weird family and my personal favourite the glamorous Hungarian Grandma.
Natalie gets herself involved in some hilarious situations throughout the books. The dialogue felt quite authentic and the narrator did an impressive job with different voices and access so hats off to her.
The only downside is I honestly didn't know where the book was going with the plot! It all got resolved in the last chapter so it all seemed a bit abrupt. Other than that a decent listen.
"Miss Wrong and Mr Right" by Robert Bryndza is an entertaining romantic comedy that offers a mix of humor and endearing moments. While the storyline follows familiar romantic tropes and the characters are engaging, the plot lacks some originality and depth, resulting in a somewhat predictable narrative.
Bryndza's writing style is enjoyable, bringing to life the quirky protagonists and their amusing interactions. The book is a light and easy read, with well-paced storytelling that keeps the reader engaged throughout.
However, despite its charm and moments of humor, "Miss Wrong and Mr Right" falls short in delivering a truly standout story. The plot, though entertaining, lacks the depth and unique twists that could elevate it to a higher level.
In summary, "Miss Wrong and Mr Right" is a pleasant romantic comedy that delivers on humor and likable characters but doesn't quite break new ground in the genre. It's a solid read for those seeking a light-hearted escape, earning a three-star rating for its enjoyable but somewhat predictable storyline.
Many thanks to Net Galley and Raven Street Publishing for an audio copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is about Natalie, who has a boyfriend she is not sure of.
Namaste!
This was a cute and entertaining rom com about Natalie Love, a woman who left her first love at the alter and went on to run a successful London theater. She is happy to be hosting Hollywood heartthrob, Ryan Harrison. She is also in a relationship with Benjamin, an annoying yoga guru and learns that Jamie, the man she left at the altar, is in London producing a West End show. Whew!
I didn't find myself laughing out loud, but I did smile several times while listening to the audiobook. I also got annoyed. Namaste! I would have lost my mind at the end of one day listening to Benjamin and his repeated use "Namaste" every time he speaks. But enough of him. Her gram, Anoushka, on the other hand, is a hoot and had some good lines. How adorable was she?
I enjoyed this tale of starting over, love, family and second chances. This was a fast listen for me. I enjoyed seeing what else Robert Bryndza had written as I am a fan of his Erika Foster and Kate Marshall books. He has a knack for writing interesting characters.
While I didn't love this one, I did enjoy it and I am glad I gave this a listen. I enjoyed the narration. I thought the narrator did a fantastic job with the accents.
This was a GREAT story to listen to! AWESOME narration! Great main characters. The plot was easy to find. The story was engaging and easy to follow. Will be purchasing this book. Shout out to Netgalley and publishing for allowing me to listen and review this story.
4 STARS!
I enjoyed this book it certainly appealed to my dry sense of humour.
This was such a funny, slapstick read. With so much happening, I was giggling quite a lot. From pigeons stealing the show to 'snakes on a plane', you couldn't help but get caught up in all the melodrama, and I enjoyed watching it all play out.
Every single character was brought to life by the narrator, which made it very entertaining. Her gran and her mum were my favourite side characters
This just didn’t work for me. The cast, the storyline nor the narration drew me in at all. I didn’t find anyone or anything to connect with and often found the narration distracting. Try reading this one as opposed to listening.
Cute. Fun. Easy read.
I noted some of the references to be a little dated but that was ok it added a little nostalgia, some of the references to famous people were excellent and I genuinely laughed out loud a few times. I have to admit that before he was pepper sprayed I might have given up on this book as Benjamins namaste”s drove me crazy (I know I know sense of humour failure maybe, but Jesus!!)
I enjoyed much of the narration too.
Thank you to NetGalley and Raven Street Publishing for the opportunity to listen to this audiobook in return for an honest review.
I loved this book. I laughed so much and I loved this main characters so much. The narrator was wonderful. I listened to it in a day.
'Miss Wrong and Mr. Right' is a throwback to the humorous chick lit of the '00s. Think Bridget Jones, complete with a thirty-something woman blundering through her life, peppering her observations with British wit.
Premise - Natalie leaves her fiancee, Jamie, at the altar at age 19. Now in her mid-thirties, their paths cross again via their respective jobs in the London theater scene. Natalie has a series of love interests, keeping readers guessing as to the identity of the real Mr. Right (clearly not Benjamin, but anyone else will do).
The real star of the show is her Gran, a wry Hungarian granny who lives in heels and likes to live loudly. Natalie is enjoyable, too, for fans of Bridget Jones.
While the fun, light tone of '00s chicklit comes through strong here, some other less pleasant '00s throwbacks show up, too. For example: casual fat-shaming, through the protagonist's POV and without following up or having her realize it's not cool to heckle people in her head for their weight. Another example: an independent woman character who is, despite aforementioned independence, obsessed with marriage and children as the definition of a fulfilled life for a woman.
Is this a perfect book? No. Was it fun anyway? Absolutely.
Thanks, NetGalley and Raven, for the gifted ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Haven’t read a book that made me laugh so much, absolutely love it! Bryndza is just incredible, he can write the best crime and at the same time the most hilarious comedy. His characters pop out of the pages. Also loved the narrator.
I alternated between reading the Kindle edition and the Audiobook of this one - but I found myself listening more than reading as I LOVED the narrator! A really enjoyable read, light hearted and funny - it really did made me laugh out loud in places! Love his crime books and now love his romantic comedy books too! I'm off to check out his Coco Pinchard series.
