Foodie Places is a welcome addition to the Inspired Traveler's Guides series, and is simply gorgeous.

It delivers a rich and compelling illustrated journey to 25 food destinations across the globe, each accompanied by a written historical and cultural snapshot. Baxter's designs feel so alive and playful, and the language used is reminiscent of a profile piece. It would have been made even better with the inclusion of an anecdote from either the author or someone else for each dish featured for a more personal flair, even if just a few sentences long.

This book can't bring you to all or each person's special favourite foodie destination, but its certainly a decent selection and an interesting primer to learn more.

Foodie Places by Sarah Baxter takes you on a culinary adventure and explores the different traditional foods you can discover in various different places.

This is a wonderful book taking you virtually to wonderful locales and making your mouth water with descriptions of the food you will find there. The artwork in this book is beautiful. The writing inspires you to look further afield for your inspirations. You will want to travel to each location after reading the descriptions and seeing the pictures. What a novel book and so well written.

Beautifully written and illustrated. This book was fun and an informative way to get right down to the bones of what food makes a spot great.

My favorite section was the section on Osaka, Japan. Spot on with the popular foods and description of the food capital of Japan. I was lucky enough to visit a few years ago and this description was great.

My only criticism is that I wish there was a bit more interaction with the reader. Maybe a recipe? Some real time photos? Links to favorite spots/recommendations, etc.

Overall a fun read for food travelers all over!

What a wonderfully fun and enjoyable book to read and works well when planning holidays. I do love to travel and I do love food so this book is right up my alley. I also see that there are more in this series and now I need to search them out as I want to find more fun things to do and places to go on my travels.

A great read that took me on a journey before I even started one. Now I can't wait to get on the road and explore some more.

The only complaint I have about this book is that I want more!

The collection is such a delight and I am so excited to visit any place described here. The information given about each place is enough to make you want to be there in a jiffy and enjoy the interesting food and culture there!

The illustrations are amazing!

You will enjoy this book more if you are actually planning a trip soon!
