Fish Story is a d cute children's book that captures the essence of friendship and adventure. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the escapades of Buster and Holly on their fishing trip. The story not only entertains young readers but also teaches valuable lessons about overcoming challenges and standing up for oneself.

Fish Story by Mike Mullin is a sweet, charmingly simplistic story about two friends enjoying a day of fishing. Buster and Holly are settling in when a dolphin shows up and, inexplicably, starts to bully Buster. But all is soon resolved and the two friends continue to discuss the task they have at hand.

Children will love the simply drawn characters and the soothing text, and will no doubt ask for this one to be read on repeat.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the author for an ARC.

This was a very sweet, very funny, and great little book. I can see both children and big kids (aka adults) enjoying reading this one together. There’s fairly simplistic imagery that lended itself to a very modern vibe for the story and it fit really well with the all dialogue text.

It is definitely a bit different to your typical childrens books in that it feels more like reading memes or cartoons but I really like that!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an E-ARC

This book very much works on two levels.one for the adult reading the book and one for the little ones. It is all written in short words in a single monotone, and yet a lot happens in each little vignette. The two friends are fishing, or at least trying to. They aren’t sure why, they aren’t sure they really want to and to top it off fish are gross and they don’t want them. The visit by the dolphin is hilarious. There is something about Waiting for Godot about this, only in a boat, with a visit by a dolphin. I loved this.

I thought this was a super cute and easy read for kids! Would have loved a little more story but do recognize it is probably for a much younger audience.

A simple, funny story which is very pleasant and enjoyable. Nothing major here, just an extended cartoon about a fish story, but certainly a fun one to read to the grandkids and laugh together. Easy to read, easy to like.
