Love this book! I was able to read a promotional copy through NetGalley. The illustrations are adorable but my favorite part is how the animals are grouped. It’s sections like the snowy whites, or loners and lets kids consider more about behaviors than your typical nature books. The text is scattered on pages and often includes fact details so kids are reading in a different and interesting way. It’s fun read plus an educational resource to keep coming back to for reference.

Creaturepedia is a picture book filled with incredible illustrations of animals grouped in different categories i.e. The Foresters. Many of the creatures only include the illustrations and the animal's name, but some also have a short fact. I would have liked a little more trivia throughout the book as words are very sparse, but the illustrations are captivating. This would be a great resource for the youngest readers.

I read this aside another reviewer (my nine year old niece) she loved the art style as it was not "baby-ish" and how the creatures were categorised appealed to her. I think I have seen some critique from other reviewers that they wished there were more facts in the book but for mu niece (and avid reader) this was a perfect initial summary book where she could see animals in groupings not seen normally and then find one's she was interested in learning more about.

Creaturepedia is a great introduction to a huge number of animals. I love the art style - it is a truly beautiful book - and the way the animals are grouped into themes e.g. architects, gladiators etc. However, while there were a few facts about some of the creatures it would have been good to have more information. For a younger child, or as a jumping off point to encourage children to find out more independently, it's great.

I can see this being perfect for the younger demographic/young children. It’s purely pictures with little descriptions. I’ll be honest some of the illustrations were slightly terrifying. But for the most part it was a colourful somewhat informative picture books about animals.

Sometimes all you need for entertainment, learning and to amplify your imagination is to read a picture encyclopaedia. The style is excellent and innovative. The pictures encourage chats with children about animals, creatures and lets your imagination go wild. We need more of these books.

A cute book, essentially a picture book, aimed at young readers. I do wish there had been information about the animals provided to pique a child's interest further.

It is hard to give feedback on what is essentially an art book when the file provided to me was as bad as it was. I haven't seen such badly compressed images since before the age of flat computer screens. This included odd pixelation and discoloration. But, considering this was an Netgalley ARC read I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and kindly ignore that part.

That being said, this was a fun little non-fiction animal book aimed toward kids. Dividing the animals into groups such as "long necked" and "architects". Something that would have sparked curiosity and delights to myself as a kid.

I'm not sure what I feel about the endangered part which features several pages of endangered animals that was depicted as crying. Raising awareness of this from young is important and I understand the message but it turned what was at first a whimsical and fun little book to something a little more sad (Why did they have to be crying?).

In a field where there are countless similar animal books aimed at children, this one didn't stand out that much. I enjoyed it, but I'm not so sure I'd buy it as a gift to an young family member.

A fine offering for the young animal fan in your life, this illustrated encyclopedia of creatures will give them hours of enjoyment. The vivid art and brief descriptions will definitely hold their attention and add to their knowledge of the world's animals.

This book is a non-fiction children's reference book about animals. The book is organized into categories like "the architects" which includes spiders and beavers and "the champion breath holders" which inlcudes hippos and alligators. The illustrations are fantastic and eye-catching.I do wish there had been more information provided about each animal so that a child would learn not just how to identify and categorize different animals but something interesting about what makes them unique as well.

This book is a children's non-fiction reference book re: different types of animals. They're sorted in a variety of ways including color, habitat, ear size, etc. The grouping are informal making the topic welcoming this young people who aren't as science minded.
The illustrations are eye catching and the small pieces of text are engaging, especially for a reluctant reader who would rather digest in small doses. I do wish that there were facts included with each animal.
