Even as an adult I really enjoyed The Story of Dinosaurs! I found that it was very informative but, was worded where children would be able to understand it if they were in the elder years of elementary school. The illustrations were spot on with what is taught in school about dinosaurs and it kept me wanting to learn more about them even when the book was over. I feel like this book is perfect for children in third through fifth grade and could even help them with a science project at school. I highly recommend this to anyone with children interested in dinosaurs!

This book is perfect for your child to learn about dinosaurs. I appreciated the book being broken down into time periods. I think the illustrations went great with all the information that was being given. Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group/Frances Lincoln Children’s Books for this ARC. Here is my honest review.

I loved this little book. It was great to read as a bedtime story to my toddler. I was gifted the ebook version so we would sit and read on the kindle while reading about “dinosauws”. Was perfect for a little reading time before bed each night and I didn’t have to make up a a story in my head. The “chapters” weren’t too long and were the perfect amount before sleep.

A colorful romp through the age of the dinosaurs. Full of great information to activate or feed interest in all things dinosaurs. Illustrations are engaging and helpful in understanding or as a hunt and seek challenge while reading. Superb book for personal or school use.

I love dinosaurs and my nibling really really loves dinosaurs, but this book was not it for us. While the illustrations were fun in the beginning, the juvenile style quickly got old and it did not keep our attention on the book and the info presented in it.

My kids both love dinosaurs, and this is definitely a book they would thoroughly enjoy. The colours and sketch-style illustrations are great and inviting. This book is packed with fun and interesting information and details. I love that it's organized into time periods and that it's dated and labeled.

This is a great book for your dino-loving kids!

Catherine Barr is my go to for brilliant and accessible non-fiction for kids. I love that this book can work across age groups, with so much to look at and take in and levels of information that can be filtered through age-appropriately.
The Story of Dinosaurs is full of fun and interest and the illustrations will inspire children to get their crayons out and have a go themselves.
An absolute win! Can’t wait to recommend this to parents and kids alike.

it’s so important for children to also read nonfiction, and I love this! This is such a great intro into the history of dinosaurs, and I loved that there was a glossy in the back to help my little one understand what the different words were. The illustrations were also absolutely adorable, highly recommend.

This was an informative book about dinosaurs. I tried to read it to my 4 year old son, but it was a bit too advanced for him. My 6 year old was more intrigued and understood it better.

The book gives lots of details of how the dinosaurs came to be - I’ve never really understood how they started and where they disappeared to. I ended up learning a lot from this children’s book.

The pictures are nice - the baby t-rexes are super cute. The book also comes with a glossary at the back.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this to a dinosaur enthusiast.

This is a very informative and well-illustrated book on prehistoric Earth. It is a bit wordier than expected but it is wordy in a good way as it provides a lot of interesting information not found in other books of the same genre.

Thank you so much to Quarto Publishing Group / Frances Lincoln Children's Books and Netgalley for the ebook to read and review.

This was an incredible read as someone that doesn’t really know much about dinosaurs this was incredibly fascinating, I feel like I actually learnt a lot about their time period and how they lived, how they went through economic tragedies and overcoming them to start again.

This is the perfect book to help start teaching all about dinosaurs to children, they will love looking at the incredible illustrations, those baby T-Rex were utterly precious, they will learn all about the history of them, about the evolution of them and about the many different version of them that existed.

There’s so much to learn here, plus it will encourage more curiosity out of most children who will want to learn more about them, will want to go to a museum and look at them for real. This offers so many benefits for educating children about dinosaurs.

I really loved this book myself so much and wasn’t expecting to learn so much from it, but I did and I’m happy that I did. I enjoyed looking at the illustrations throughout too they helped give you such a wonderful visual for the way they looked.

My 5-year-old is in a dino phase right now and really enjoyed this book. He really liked the illustrations, presumably because they look like kids' drawings.

The book offers an overview of the evolution of dinosaurs. Each page spread shows a geological period, with the creatures that evolved during that time. The illustrations are a bit childish, but precise enough to recognize the dino.

I liked that the depictions are accurate to modern scientific knowledge (e.g. feathered dinosaurs and fluffy T-Rex babies), which is a bit different from what I grew up with.

I wish there was a timeline to show the geological periods, since the tunesischen are so large, its even hard for adults to get a sense of proportions.

This book is the perfect combination of lots of information that is still digestible for kids AND colorful, child-like illustrations that will help keep them interested.
In its short pages it manages to cover a large period of time, showing what the planet was like before (the dinosaurs) and now (the humans).
It's perfect if you want your child to learn this basic knowledge in a fun way or you just have a little science lover!
I also really liked that it has a glossary at the end, a nice touch that children (and parents) will appreciate.
