My first-grade students didn't love this book. They thought it was short, not super engaging, and wanted colored illustrations. They had expected a wildly funny story of dinosaurs roaming a neighborhood, but were a little disappointed with the humor. They didn't feel super connected to the book. They love books about dinosaurs and were really excited to take a look at this title. The idea is good but could be flushed out a bit more. The rhyming was a stretch and not necessary. The storyline could have been better if the author didn't need rhymes. Thanks to NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Cute idea, although some of the situations might be hard for very young children to understand and may even frighten them.

The premise behind "Catching Dinos" is a fun one that is sure to entice young readers! Unfortunately, after opening the book, I think the illustrations may scare them away! I really like the choice to use black and white illustrations, however some of the concepts illustrated are that of nightmares for young kids (for example the dino wearing a top hat, looking hungrily at the human in their hand- yikes!) For that reason I wouldn't recommend the book, unless you know the child really well and know that they won't be scared!

Catching Dinos is a cute picture book about dinosaurs invading a local neighborhood. The text was fun & I loved the idea.

Unfortunately, the illustration style was just not for me. Some of the dinos were finished weirdly & almost looked like AI glitches. That is just my opinion though, it may hit the right note for others!

"Catching Dinos" is a cute and fun picture book that will delight any child who loves dinosaurs. The story is engaging, making it perfect for bedtime or reading time with young kids.

The illustrations, however, could use some improvement. While they are nice, I feel they could be more captivating for little ones.

Overall, "Catching Dinos" is a charming read. With some enhancements to the artwork, it could become a real favorite among young dinosaur enthusiasts.

The prose is hilarious and the situations depicted are laugh out loud funny.

I suppose the print copy would be more preferable, as the art will look better.

The style is a good match and is funny but not %100 my favourite, partly because there is some repetition - this could be said it is due to the characters appearing again - perhaps they could be a bit more distinctive.

We will read this again for the humour. Wish it were longer for adult readers. Good length for the younger ones.

Another kids' book that I would also highly recommend to adults with a good sense of humor. I have a weakness for dinosaur books, but this one is legitimately good. The illustrations are hilarious and really did remind me of Edward Gorey's style. The rhythm and rhyme were perfect, and the words themselves were clever, creative, and funny. I will definitely be reading this a few more times.
