The writing style of this one was just too simplistic and amateur for me. I couldn't into the story as the writing distracted me too much.
The title of this book is what captured my attention. Working as a nurse in various inpatient psychiatric facilities, I struggle to find books that are accurate and realistic. I did not find that in this book. I felt as though the characters lacked personality. Overall, 2.5 stars.
It has been hard to get in to the storyline and reads more along YA lines. I felt as though I have read this before.
Mollie is the main character who was diagnosed with Clerambault syndrome. The wife of the man that she was having delusional thoughts about turns up dead. Mr. Clay Caulder was the detective who had no problem framing people whether they were innocent or not. Mollie never thought she would have ended up where she did. Mollie had to fight for her rights. I liked that the book addressed stigma, and the negative situations that people face. I wish there was a little more detail about the psychiatric symptoms and what they were supposed to be. It's a good psychological thriller.
If it has not been addressed in the copy, I was given there was multiple spacing issues throughout the first half of the book
2.5 stars rounded down This had an interesting premise, but did not deliver on any level. The characters were inconsistent and flat. Pertinent questions were left unanswered, while other aspects were over-explained and cliche. The writing style itself was amateurish. I won’t comment on the actual psychological aspects, except to say “fail”.
