For a Halloween romcom, this was perfect!
I loved Connor and Holly and was really rooting for them throughout. Lindsay Lovise really understood the spooky, autumnal assignment here.
I hope we get more books that look into the other Celeste sisters, because I loved getting to know them throughout this book!
Thank you so much to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for the arc. 🫶🏻
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for a free ARC in exchange for a review.
This was a funky one. The book is fine, there's just not much to anything in there.
Holly is a fine MC, she's understandable and likeable. Not hugely interesting but no one really is in this book. In terms of Connor, I can't really reconcile ghost hunting reality TV host with super great guy. It just doesn't gel for me. I also have a really hard time believing that anyone would start a witch hunt from seeing supernatural stuff in one TV episode. I don't think it would ruin Holly's family's life like she seems to think. The evil ex-boyfriend is so over the top, I was rolling my eyes at certain points.
The world-building wasn't great, and had a lot of info-dumping. I'm not really intrigued by anything but I wasn't massively put off by anything either. Also how does a hedgehog owner not have some sort of hedgehog carrier? She carries Prickles in a purse!! That is negligent pet ownership.
This is a fine autumn-ish novel, but nothing special. If you feel like you've exhausted the witchy autumn romance genre, you could give this one a go, but if you're looking for an excellent example, I wouldn't say this is it. 3 stars.
Connor and Holly
Holly Celeste is the eldest of the Celeste sisters. As the eldest, Holly sees it as her duty to protect her family from the discovery of her witchcraft powers and at the same time to ensure the success of her apple farm "Wicked Good Apples". After a few bad years, Wicked Good Apples is now on the verge of going out of business. The family sees their only chance in ghost hunter Connor Grimm.
Connor Grimm is one of the most successful and respected TV Ghost Hunters and his next target is the Celeste family's Orchard Farm. Although I was skeptical at first, Connor won my heart with his charming, easy but serious manner.
I love books with supernatural creatures and witches have always fascinated me and I was hoping the story wouldn't slip too far into Ghost Busters.
My worry was all for nothing. I fell in love with the setting within the first few pages! The setting, an apple farm, is a novelty for this type of story.
But I was also immediately captivated by Holly and her family. They are crazy and lovable. I really liked Holly and I could really relate to her protective instinct towards her family after getting to know them.
The chemistry between Connor and Holly was sizzling from the beginning and the dialog between the two was also filled with wit, emotion and banter.
But I also really liked the secondary characters. Although the story was short-lived, the author created characters with depth. I hope we will get another story from the other two Celeste sisters.
"Perfectly Wicked" is a perfect book for fall with its autumnal setting and spooky/witchy elements.
I give Holly and Connor's story 4 out of 5 stars.
Many thanks to Dialogue Books and NetGalley Germany for the review copy.
This is the perfect Halloween read. The perfect mix of witchy antics, family vives & romance.
This was a real easy quick read, full of all the cosy feels
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review for "Perfectly Wicked" by Lindsay Lovise
Perfectly Wicked is a fantastic read that captures the spooky season vibe perfectly! Lindsay Lovise weaves an enchanting tale with just the right mix of magic, mystery, and a hint of romance. The story's atmosphere and delightful characters bring out that autumnal, witchy feel that’s perfect for curling up with on a chilly night. If you're looking for a book that’s both charming and wickedly fun for this time of year, Perfectly Wicked is the way to go!
Easy reading, liked the concept and well fleshed out family characters, especially Holly. Was not so enamoured with Connor, felt underwhelmed by the romance but the paranormal aspects, plus the idea of a pet hedgehog (?! I didn't know that was a thing but now I want one so thanks for that) were particularly enjoyable.
Thanks to NetGalley for approving this book for me as I really enjoyed it. It’s a cosy fun read. I found it a great mix of family, witchy vibes and of course some romance. It caught my interest from the first page until the end. I couldn’t put it down
You know those books that you randomly stumble upon thinking nothing of them and then they turn out to be absolutely incredible? Yeah, Perfectly Wicked was one of them.
I went into this book knowing absolutely nothing and I was pleasantly surprised. It was full of charm, fall vibes and just that touch of the supernatural that makes it the perfect spooky season read. The writing was so pretty and just flowed across the page. I finished this in a single sitting, and considering that has not happened in a while, I have to give this book credit where credit is due.
I adored Holly as a character, and how we see her slowly open up through the course of this book. Her character journey was impeccably done and it was so amazing to see how she slowly learnt to accept who she is and to open up heart to love at the same time. And Connor?? Whoo, he just sounded super hot in my head LOL. From the get-go, I had a feeling I'd be a fan of their dynamic and I really was. Their banter was delightful and their chemistry off-the-charts. I was not expecting this book to have a dual POV, so that was something that was a nice surprise.
I'd say Perfectly Wicked is the perfect (excuse the pun hehe) spooky/fall season read, especially if you're a fan of small-town settings, amazing banter, incredible characters and just the most delightful story.
I adored Perfectly Wicked, The perfect mix of a great witchy story, romance and family. I think this is one of my favourite spooky genre books ever and I really hope we have sequels for both Winter and Missy.
"She didn't want Connor Grimm in her house or in her life. He was too confident. Too determined. Too ruthless."
Perfectly Wicked by Linsay Lovise is the perfect seasonal read. I am not a huge fan of spice in books so it wasn't quite a 5* read for me, however that was more to personal choice than anything else. I loved the autumnal, witchy vibes going on in this book and I really hope there are more books about the Celeste sisters in the future because their relationship heavily reminded me of Practical Magic.
I like that Perfectly Wicked was set in an orchard, perfect for the spooky season. Holly Celeste is the somewhat tighly wound owner of the failing Wicked Good Apples,a rival company has offered to buy her out but Holly would rather foreclose than sell to Stacy.
"Holly tried hard not to compare The Apple Dreams customer experience to that of Wicked Good Apples, when last fall a customer had stepped on Prickles, Holly's hedgehog, and had threatened to sue after a dramatic meltdown."
When Holly returns home it is to find Connor Grimm on her property, ostensibly trying to convince Holly and her family to let him film a ghost hunt for his show Grimm Reality. We soon learn that there is more to his motives than meets the eye.
I loved that Autumn Celeste had started the original orchard to spite a vicious man. Excellent story.
Another thing that I enjoyed about Practically Wicked was the dual point of view, I don't think I have read a romance with this before and it certainly offered a different reading experience.
It was not your average witch story and offered so unique twists, perfect for those who love an enemies to lovers story.
I thought this was going to be a YA style book, maybe a bit like Harry Potter, but then I came to a scene that was certainly not YA! Nevertheless, I really enjoyed it, and it captured my interest throughout. It was a sort of Romcom with some magic thrown in, and I hope there is a sequel.
Holly and her sister have an orchard in America, which they run with their two Aunts. They are known for making the best cider in the region. They are also known for their orchard being haunted – which does them no favours. The orchard and business is about to go out of business. They have had an offer to buy them out from a rival orchard, so when a famous ghost hunter who runs a TV reality show, offers them a large sum to film at the orchard it seems to be the lesser of two evils and Holly, very reluctantly, accepts. What Holly doesn’t bank on is developing feelings for the reality host and she tries to ensure that this doesn’t endanger them all.
This reminded me a bit of Harry Potter in that I think it would appeal to a wide age range, and the magical side is at the centre of the narrative. I loved it as it had all the elements I love in a good book, and I am really hoping there will be a sequel.

Perfectly Wicked by Lindsay Lovise caught my eye because it was described as "perfect for fans of Practical Magic and Charmed". Now I've read that description many times, and been let down every single time - until now.
Wicked Good Apples is in trouble. The family apple farm is losing money, and Holly Celeste is trying to figure out how to save the farm without putting her family in jeopardy.
Connor Grimm runs Grimm Productions and makes a ghost hunting reality TV series with his brother Erik. Connor's been after Wicked Good for a while - he has some evidence of a ghost in the orchard, and he wants to make a miniseries there. Holly is dead set against it, but her sisters Missy & Winter, and Aunts Rose and Daisy, overrule her.
Connor sniffing around is bad enough for Holly, but things get even more complicated when the two start to spend time together. There's no denying the chemistry, but Holly could be putting everything and everyone she loves at risk by letting Connor get close. If he ever finds out their secret, they could lose Wicked Good - for good.
I LOVVVEEEDDDDDDD this book. Adored it. Now, it helped massively that Connor was Joshua Jackson in my head, but it was adorable. The story was solid, the characters were instantly likeable (or unlikeable, in some cases) and there was just enough going on. The main story arc of finding out what the ghost was about was excellent, and it did indeed remind me a little bit of Practical Magic or Charmed when Gary or Andy were trying to figure out what the hell was happening while simultaneously falling for a slightly secretive, closed-off woman trying to protect her family.
Mystery, romance, magic, family, and an apple farm in Maine - dreamy.
This kicked off my October reads this year, and I couldn't have picked a better one. I will read it again, I think I read it far too quickly, and I was devastated when it ended. It wrapped up beautifully, with just enough room for a sequel (please, please, PLEASE!!).
Holly and Connor's frenemies vibe was exactly what I needed! Holly's family business it struggling, even with their extra help and she reluctantly lets a ghost hunter come and film on the orchard. Sparks fly and I could not put the book down. A perfect read for the autumn vibe!
I wasn't sure about this at first and almost didn't finish it. Glad I stuck with it though as I quite enjoyed it.
Perfectly Wicked is a delightful Fall and witchy read that combines spicy enemy-to-lovers romance with paranormal elements. The dual POV enhances the story, making Holly and Conner's relationship development feel authentic and their chemistry undeniably steamy.
The author's engaging writing style makes it an easy and enjoyable read. Set in a small town with cosy, whimsical vibes, this book is a magical treat. I loved the characters and the enchanting atmosphere, and I'm hopeful for more books in this charming universe!

A book about being Wicked, Holly runs a failing apple farm with her family, all females, when a Ghost Hunter wants to film there. A love story develops within the story and some unexpected secrets emerge. A great romcom read with some fantasy thrown in.
I really hope that there are further books in the series that focus on each sister.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC
Wicked Good Apples is the Celeste family’s orchard, unfortunately they are doing so poorly they may only have one more season left before they lose it. Connor & his ghost hunting crew want to film there to investigate reports of ghostly sightings; the money might save the orchard, but it could also expose their secret on television.
The supernatural storyline was something I haven’t encountered before, despite this genre being one of my favourites. There’s also a cute & slightly spicy romance. I recommend this book for the Autumn season, especially if you can’t go picking apples irl!
This was such a delightful and charming cosy read that definitely gave all those Charmed vibes. It perfectly set the scene for Autumn with an idyllic apple orchard and witch lore. I really enjoyed our two main leads, Holly and Connor, their chemistry was off the charts from the very beginning and only progressed as their walls continued to fall down. I absolutely loved the concept of paranormal investigators coming to film a show on a potential haunted site and was completely enthralled in the ghost story woven within that took their beliefs to a whole new level. I'm definitely hoping we are treated to stories surrounding the other two Celeste sisters as well because I'm not ready to be done with this world at all!
I absolutely ADORED this book!
This book contains:
🍎Apple farms
🧙♀️Witchy magickal goings on
🔮Practical Magic/Charmed vibes!
⚡️Powerful AF female characters - the MC Holly was likeable, feisty and relatable. I am SO already waiting for Winter and Missy's and hopefully Charlottes books too! 🙏🙏🙏
👻Ghosts!!
🔥Hot, authentic, kind, just a little tortured super likeable ghost hunter love interest
🌶️Just the right amount of chemistry and spice to keep the pages turning! A good few sex scenes but the story is mostly driven around the romance and deep connection on both a physical and emotional level
📖A great story that hooks you in and makes you want to keep reading for all the juicy secrets to be revealed!
🌱Postive vegan rep! As a vegan I really appreciated a positive representation and super cool vegan character! 😍
There is nothing I didn't like about this book, except for the fact that I can't find any information about the next one coming out!!
Already looking forward to more adventures with Wicked Good Apples!!
Thank you NetGalley, the publisher and author for the ARC. 💖
Although not actually set during Autumn, Holly and Connor’s story really got me in the mood for the season, with the idyllic orchard setting, witch family and intriguing mix of mystery, humour and romance. I really hope this is the start of a series, as with the Celeste sisters and other secondary characters, there is certainly a lot of scope for that. This is the first book I’ve read by this author, but I’ll definitely be looking out for more!
