Description
Charmed meets Practical Magic in this magically wicked paranormal romance, perfect for fans of Not the Witch You Wed and The Ex Hex.
There have always been rumours that something magical is afoot at Wicked Good Apples - but only Holly Celeste and her family know the truth: the Celestes are just a little wicked.
Despite the magical secret ingredient in their cider, the family business is floundering. When Connor Grimm, a charming and nationally beloved paranormal investigator, requests to film an episode of his popular TV show on the mysterious Maine Orchard farm, Holly reluctantly accepts. She knows the publicity could be the miracle her family needs - as long as Connor doesn't manage to actually make any paranormal discoveries.
Intent on keeping Connor in the dark and pushing him toward the ghost story believed by the locals, Holly joins him as he interviews eyewitnesses, hunts for old records and unearths potentially devastating stories from the past. Despite her resolution to dislike him, she begins to fall for the only man who's ever made her feel like strange could be normal.
But as their romance blooms, Connor gets closer to uncovering the real secrets behind the orchard... Can Holly fall in love and protect her family? Or will she have to make a choice?
Wicked as a love spell, this enemies-to-lovers witchy romance will enchant readers of The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches and In Charm's Way.

4.5 ⭐️ This book is the PERFECT book for fall/halloween vibes!! It's a super fun, fast-paced paranormal romcom that you'll probably read in one sitting and love every second of it. It's dual pov and has an enemies to lovers romance super cute but spicy. I highly recommend this one for anyone who loves witchy romances and spooky vibes.
The chemistry between Holly and Connor crackles with energy, turning their enemies-to-lovers journey into a spellbinding experience. The mix of supernatural intrigue, heartfelt moments, and sizzling tension kept me glued to the pages. This book is a magical delight from start to finish, perfect for anyone who loves a good witchy romance with a dash of mystery.
INCREDIBLE, HEARTWARMING, SWOONWORTHY. This was beyond what I expected I kicking my feet and swooning. I loved the development between characters the sweet moments, honestly everything about this I loved. It was magical, heartwarming and such a perfect cosy read.
I picked it as it said it was the perfect match of Practical magic meets charmed and it exceeded my expectations, The first Migraine he saw her deal with was just everything.
For someone who reads fantasy books on a regular basis, like me, the premise is quite different. I truly enjoyed it. Conor and Holly have great chemistry. Celeste's family shares an odd bond. Missy is my favorite, and I hope there will be a sequel to this centered on her. I also want to know more about Winter and Conor's brother, because I believe they both have something developing.
This was the perfect cosy fall read - it has the same small town autumnal vibes as The Pumpkin Spice Cafe, combined with the witchy romcom vibes of Hex Appeal. I loved that the world-building was pretty gradual and unobtrusive - we find out more about the characters' nature and the magic system as the story progresses, with most of the big reveals towards the end. This leaves plenty of room to focus on building out the Celeste sisters' world, the farm and the town, and the various characters who inhabit it; while it's not 100% clear that this is the first in a series, it's heavily implied to be, and I'd happily read further installments.
The romance between Holly and Connor is really sweet - they each have complicated pasts that have made finding connection hard, but they complement each other so well and bring out the best in each other. The spicy scenes aren't super-hot, which I actually think fits the tone perfectly - but they don't disappoint, either. I also really liked the whole mystery plot, and just generally enjoyed myself reading this.
If you're looking for a witchy (ish - you'll see what I mean!) romance book to curl up with this autumn, you can't really go wrong here!
I can’t stop swooning over Holly and Conner! Their enemies to lovers story was amazing and the chemistry is still sizzling. Holly‘s family were some great additional characters and the story was so much fun! The writing style was good and it didn’t take me long to finish the story.
I loved this book! It really is like practical magic on an orchard with ghosts. 🍎 The ending makes me feel there are going to be more books and it's building up to to something.
Holly & Connor have so much chemistry. He has the perfect partner. I love Holly's sisters and aunts. Each has their own personality which brings something to the book.
I will definitely be reading any sequels in this series. This book would make a perfect romantic Netflix movie!
I absolutely loved this! I love the Charmed meets Practical Magic vibe. I think it had such a fun concept with the private investigator and trying to hide powers from him. This would make such a cute movie or great book club pick. I think the characters had great chemistry and the storyline was fast paced. I think it’s the perfect book to pick up if you are anxiously awaiting fall
A reluctant Holly Celeste agrees to let TV Ghost hunting superstar Connor Grimm investigate ghostly sightings on her families apply orchard.
But is there more than just spooky spectres at play? What secrets and truths will be revealed if Connor digs too deep? And what could this mean for Holly and her family?
Despite not actually being set during the Autumn, this is a perfect cosy read that still manages to give off Autumnal/fall vibes. We have charmed meets practical magic, mystery, romance and a dash of spice thrown into the mix.
Each character brings a bit of life into the story, and for once I felt the FMC was written as a strong female lead, without being plagued with unnecessary arrogance. The MMC is just brilliant, and quite frankly I need to find a Connor Grimm of my own!
There are events in the story that leave the possibility of a sequel, potentially from the other characters POVs, something I would love to see.
I thought I'd take a break from the sport romances I've been filling my summer reading and trying something looking forward to autumn and spooky season. Holly comes from a magical family that reminded me of 'Charmed' or 'Sabrina The Teenage Witch' and Connor is a TV presenter with this own brush with the paranormal.
I liked all the female characters in this story - they are feisty with lots of personality and weren't going to be charmed by just any handsome man who walked through their door. So when Holly and Connors romance started to unfold it make it even sweeter (and spicier). I enjoyed their chemistry but the reading the story unfold kept me reading because I wanted to know how it ended.
I finished it in just a few days because I couldn't stop reading. Now I want another spooky, spicy romance for autumn.
I really enjoyed this book. It gives off cosy fall vibes and mystical magic. The plot was a paranormal mystery romance and it gripped me from the beginning! There was a nice amount of comedy in there too which I really enjoy. I felt like the ending let it down a little as is dragged on a bit and ended in a cliché “happily ever after” trope which I don’t always love because they can end up being slightly cringe worthy! There was a small amount of spice which was well written. Overall I would recommend to add this to your fall TBR if you like cosy fall mysteries and magic ✨
