I love cooking and baking but doing it at Christmas is extra special. In my opinion, there is something magical about sitting down with a cookbook full of holiday recipes. The combinations of magic are endless with so many options! In this collection, Taylor Vance gathers 50 recipes to help you rediscover the magic of the season. You will find appetizers, main meals, sides, drinks, and sweet treats. Don’t expect to find all the traditional trimmings as there are plenty of other options to help you savor the season. I found the recipes simple to follow and ingredients easy to find (a win-win for me, especially during the crazy business). I do really like that each recipe includes a picture to help those who are not as creative or artistic and need the step-by-step instructions. If you’re an expert in the kitchen or super creative, then let these entries serve as suggestions to spark your own creativity.
I received a copy from the publisher via NetGalley and all opinions expressed are solely my own, freely given.
Some good recipes accompanied by nice photographs- I would be more likely to get this from the library rather than purchase it.
The Cozy Christmas Cookbook focuses on elevated and modern Christmas twists.
The Sections are
The 12+ appetizers of Christmas
The mains of Christmas yet to come
Yummy Stocking Stuffer Sides
Deck the Halls with Sips & Sugar
Each recipe has servings, a little recipe blurb, ingredients, instructions, and tips plus a photo of the recipe.
The cookbook was so cute and had tons of fun recipes that I’m excited to make. The names of the recipes were festive and it really puts you in a holiday mood.
Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
What a delightful cookbook!
New and exciting recipes are featured and they are filled to the brim with festive cheer.
If you love Christmas and cooking/baking, then this wonderfully illustrated cookbook deserves a place on your shelf.
Thank you Netgalley for the ARC.
When the kids are back at school and the evenings are getting darker, my mind turns to Christmas planning. So when The Cozy Christmas Book came up for review, it was perfect timing.
I did enjoy perusing this cookbook with it's scrumptious photography. It's rare to get a photograph of every recipe in cookbooks. The Cozy Christmas Cookbook is one of the better books for this and almost every recipe has an accompanying picture.
The recipes are varied and tempting but honestly, very few of them are Christmas themed. Instead, they are autumnal recipes with a Christmas themed name attached. This was a little disappointing.
If you need inspiration for new recipes this autumn, this book will have you covered. If you are throwing a Christmas party and are looking for ideas for a festive buffet, you may want to look elsewhere.
Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the chance to review an advanced copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

This is one of the most adorable cookbooks I've ever seen.
I'm always chasing nostalgia when it comes to cookbooks, and this one delivers.
Each page looks like it was created in the 1950s and 60s with kitschy art that is sure to win the heart over everyone who misses Christmas at grandma's house.
The recipes are simple, so it would be excellent for intergenerational cooking. The book also contains US and metric measurements, allowing it to be adored internationally. There is a wide range of recipes, so vegetarians will be happy.
I particularly liked how many of the recipe titles were punny, like "Simply Having a Wonderful Celery Soup". It adds to the coziness of the entire book.
This would be an excellent book to add to any collection. Moreso, this would be an even better gift for anyone who is wanting to add a new cookbook to their home collection.
The Cozy Christmas Cookbook by Taylor Vance isn't your typical Christmas cookbook as the recipes are not recipes you'd normally think about preparing during the holiday season. If you are looking for new recipes to try, you'll probably love the recipes you'll find in this book. For example there's a recipe for Santa's Favorite Strawberry Shortcake. I would have never thought of preparing strawberry shortcake as a Christmas dessert. I might do just that to change up a holiday dessert course this year. I loved the Ho, Ho, Holiday Appetizer Wreath too as it was beautiful and tasty sounding.
Adding to the cozy Christmas feeling was the lovely old-fashioned holiday graphics used to decorate the book pages.
Review written after downloading a temporary electronic book from NetGalley.
I love love love cookbooks. I love being able to see what I want to make, and all of the recipes in here look delicious not to mention festive. I bookmarked quite a few I want to try out.
So many great ideas for Christmas time recipes! I personally can’t wait to try mamas lasagna cups! They look fantastic!
Great Christmas cookbook - more aimed for US market but great there are uk measurements in there too. Loved the festive names of the puddings! Great selection of different cuisines too.
I love the later half of the year!! I love fall, so I'm always ready for Halloween. Also, as a December baby, I am totally obsessed with Christmas. I don't know one person who doesn't like the cozy vibes that Christmas brings and this book also gives me those warm feelings. I cannot wait to utilize this book, the Home for the Holidays Charcuterie board is too cute! Plus, these are recipes are ones that you could make year- round and you're not getting the post-Christmas side eye🤣.
This is such a really lovely cook book. Not only are the recipes festive and wonderful, but they are easy to make and really will add something extra special over the Christmas period. The illustrations are really cute. This is definitely one to buy for the kitchen shelf:)
Ahhhh.. Christmas. I do love Christmas and I do love cooking so this book is right up my alley. 50 Recipes to Rediscover the Magic of the Season and I am ready to start the magic. With so many interesting and tasty recipes this book will be a go to for my Christmas preparations and I may even start experimenting now.
There are some great notes, hints, tips and more to get you going and make your life easier at this stressful time of year. The photos are wonderful and cheery, This is a cosy, cheerful and very festive little book and I am enjoying the festive holiday vibes already. Bring on Christmas.
Thank you NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group – Rock Point for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.
This cookbook is good. I haven’t tried any recipes yet but I have found a few that will be perfect for our next Christmas gathering.
I do highly recommend
Interesting and useful book with easy and inspiring recipes for Christmas. Everything we wanted to prepare and didn't know how is now within our reach. This Christmas will be warm, delicious and fragrant with the magical dishes prepared according to Taylor Vance's recipe.
Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book!
I wasn't in the Christmas mood last year, and I'm hoping this isn't the case this year. When I saw this one I was excited. The layout is easy to follow. The pictures are gorgeous. And the names of the recipes are so adorable
I like the format of this Christmas cookbook. It’s cute and colorful with fun Christmas themed foods. It’s a short book, less than a hundred pages long, but I think it would make for a nice gift. There’s a nice, high quality picture for almost every recipe.
I think the recipes were fun, easy ideas that most people could use. It starts with the 12 Appetizers of Christmas, including a fun idea for Nachos Festivo. Why not have nachos at Christmas if you can make them red and green huh?
The Holiday Cheer Funfetti Popcorn would be fun, especially for kids, on a Christmas movie night.
The Rudolph the Reindeer Burgers are adorable.
Feliz Fajitas sounds like the kind of Christmas dinner my husband dreams of.
Other recipes I’m saving:
Fa La La La bean and butternut squash minestrone
Santa’s Sweet Potato Sleighs
Winter Fruit Smoothie
Blueberry coffee cake
I got to read an early ebook edition from NetGalley. Thank you!
This is one of those cookbooks where a publisher takes recipes from a bunch of their previously published books and reformats them into new content. These collections always come off a little strange because they mix very different content. This one combines recipes from a cookbook of acai berry recipes, a food board cookbook, an air fryer cookbook and probably a vegan cookbook, among others. There is a photo for every recipe but in many cases I’m almost positive they are stock photos instead of pictures of that specific recipe. For example, the vegan Mac and cheese photo looks like delicious conventional Mac and cheese and doesn’t look like that made with the particular ingredients in their recipe. No nutritional information is provided. There is cute formatting and the recipes all have cute Christmas themed names.
I read a temporary digital loan of this book for review.
This is the cutest Christmas cookbook i've ever read I loved the festive names on the recipes and the varied ideas for nibbles and party foods as well.
What I liked about the recipes is the simplicity of them, nothing felt out of reach or too difficult for me to make and i love that. That's what Christmas is all about!
Some of the recipes that stood out to me were
Home for the holidays charcuterie
Mamas lasagna cups
Rudolph's reindeer burgers
Have some pumpkin pie creme brulee and do some caroling (what a name!)
I'll definitely be trying those creme brulees! Lovely cookbook with lovely pictures and illustrations
Coming from a large Italian family, cooking is our love language, especially around the holidays. Needless to say, I found this cookbook at the perfect time and cannot wait to make more recipes from it! It's perfect and has something for everyone. Plus, the names are precious. What's not to love? I highly recommend.
