A lot of fun to read with plenty of twists and turns, A Little Getaway is a great way to pass the time and grabs your attention from the word go.
I will definitely look out for more by this author.

A Little Getaway is billed as a "spicy" suspense thriller. I wasn't quite sure what to expect, given that description. Morgan's perfect, "spicy" marriage is beginning to flag and she suspects her husband of cheating. When he plans a weekend away, she decides it's the perfect time to get answers. Too bad she's attacked and Kyle vanishes! Hate it when that happens, LOL. The pacing was a little uneven and dragged at times, but there were more than enough twists and turns to make up for that. This is a fun vacation read.

The storyline kept me interested in this book and overall the writing was good, but I didn't enjoy the book as much I initially thought I would. I didn't warm to the characters (apart from the couple who got married at the end - I thought that they were sweet) and I thought that the main character and her husband over-reacted to the situations they were found themselves in, and the issues seemed to resolve themselves without a major fuss at the end.

A Little Getaway by Bonnie Traymore is a suspenseful mystery that takes a nosedive into marital suspicion, missing husbands, and a good ol’ fashioned game of “whodunit.” Morgan Murphy thinks her life is in shambles when she suspects her husband Kyle is cheating, and her attempts to uncover the truth lead to a whirlwind of twists. From increasing life insurance policies to a sudden weekend getaway that goes terribly wrong, things quickly spiral into chaos.
The premise is intriguing and keeps you guessing, but the pacing occasionally stumbles, especially with some over-the-top moments that feel more melodramatic than suspenseful. While Morgan's determination is admirable, her actions sometimes cross the line from “resourceful” to “why on earth would you do that?” The plot is engaging enough, but it could have benefited from a little more depth.
If you enjoy a quick, suspense-filled read with a few surprising twists, A Little Getaway is worth the trip—but don’t expect to be totally blown away.

This fast-paced thriller is filled with twists and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat. It's beautifully written, and I highly recommend it if you enjoy a spicy story combined with an exciting thriller. It's a great read that brings both elements together in one neat package!

This was a fast and easy read, but I felt the story didn’t fully align with the synopsis. The plot follows Morgan as she tries to uncover the truth behind her husband’s disappearance while also dodging suspicions about her involvement. There are also chapters from Tara’s perspective, a reporter chasing a big break. Despite the title and description, the idea of a 'getaway' is barely touched on, and there’s no 'spice' to speak of.
While the book’s brevity makes it a quick read, some parts leaned heavily into the implausible. Morgan’s detective skills were impressive, but her interactions with supposed criminal masterminds and other characters often felt unrealistic. That said, it was still entertaining at times. I particularly enjoyed Tara’s storyline and found the ending satisfying, even if it required a bit of a leap in logic

I picked up this one at the description of SPICY suspense thriller--some of my favorite things all in one book! The twists in this kept me invested from the start.
Thanks so much for the copy in exchange for an honest reivew

Thank you Bonnie Traymore and NetGalley for an ARC of this book!
If you are a fan of Gone Girl, you will really like this book.
In this story we are following our FMC Morgan Murphy who thinks her husband Kyle is having an affair since he has been acting distant and detached. To help fix things, she decides they go on a spicy, romantic getaway. However, Kyle disappears.
I am a domestic thriller girlie through and through. I loved the overall plot of this story and the twists did surprise me. However,. I feel like it could've flowed better.
If you are new to thrillers I still recommend this book.

This book has mixed reviews but personally I enjoyed reading it. Great story line. The characters were good. Overall I enjoyed it was an easy read. I look forward to reading more books from this author.

A perfect popcorn thriller! I didn’t love any of the characters but I was so intrigued to see where this book led. Kept me reading past my bedtime!

The story started off fast paced, but towards the end it felt rushed. It was a good story, definitely not a "spicy" thriller though.

This was a quick and fast paced read, though I didn’t think the story itself matched the synopsis. The story centers on Morgan, whose husband disappears- she has to figure out what is going on while also avoiding suspicion around her own involvement. You also get some chapters from the POV of Tara, a reporter who is trying to get a big scoop. There isn’t really much about a getaway other than the first few pages of the book, and there isn’t anything “spicy” at all.
The book is short and is a quick read, but it definitely bordered on unrealistic. While Morgan was quite a sleuth, her interactions with potential criminal masterminds, not to mention other characters, didn’t ring true. That being said, it was still kind of fun to read. I liked the Tara storyline, and I liked the way that it ended ;though again, had to suspend my disbelief).
Overall, I was a little confused as to what I read versus what I thought I would be reading, but thought it was a decent story as long as you don’t mind it being a little fantastical. Thanks to NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

A Little Getaway by Bonnie Traymore is described as ‘A little getaway that takes a deadly turn’ and ‘a spicy suspense thriller'…where was the getaway part of this little getaway book? Does the author mean the brief mention of the beach resort? Where was the spice? Was it the handful of lines that were so horrifically cringeworthy that they held no ounce of believability?
Unfortunately this was just so bad, so so bad. Maybe if it was marketed as it actually was, I wouldn’t be so frustrated by it. The book is told in first person with multiple POV’s - we hear from Morgan, the wife, and Tara, the reporter. The entire book is trying to figure out what happened. There is no description of location, weather, atmosphere, nothing vivid to transport you to the world where this ‘crazy’ mystery is going on. Amateur writing and predictable plot. The word bland comes to mind frequently. There was no twist? No suspense? At BEST I would say I had a very very faint, mild curiosity at perhaps two points in this book. I have given one star because the book at least had the decency to be short.
Thank you NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for my ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed every minute of this book. The author did an amazing job with the characters and laying out the plot line. I think it was well written, and I would highly recommend it. I can't wait to read more from this author.
Thank you Net Galley ARC and Books go Social

Fast paced. Kind of unhinged. Maybe a little unbelievable. Had a pretty strong start, however the ending seemed a bit far fetched and weak. Still a pretty good thriller, totally recommended.

I was interested at first, but this book spiraled pretty quickly to the point I just lost interest and eventually DNFed.
I’ve read spicy books and I’ve read thrillers, and it felt like this one just straddled the line without achieving either. This is one persons opinion, and I’m new to the suspense/thriller world, so maybe it’s not for me, hence the 3 stars.

I would like to thank the author for allowing me to read & review via ARC. I enjoyed reading this and it kept me interested and anxious to see what happens next. I liked the writer's style & would love to read more by them.

Morgan Murphy has always longed for a romance for the ages. And she’s found it with husband Kyle Murphy—until their spicy marriage suddenly starts to cool off.
Is Kyle preoccupied and distant because of a problem with his development project? Or is it something worse? Could Kyle Murphy be...cheating? He’s hiding something, that’s for sure. And Morgan’s determined to find out what it is.
With the help of gal pal Carla Flores, Morgan tracks her husband’s movements, and the signs increasingly point to infidelity, the ultimate sin in Morgan’s book. When Kyle increases their life insurance and surprises her with a weekend getaway to get their mojo back, she goes on the offensive and hatches a plan to make him come clean about what’s been going on.
But before she can pull it off, Morgan’s attacked and nearly kidnapped, and Kyle vanishes from the resort without a trace. With no clue as to who took Kyle or why, she’s not sure who is the biggest the shady investor he owes money to, the police, or the guys she hired to teach Kyle a lesson. With the clock ticking, she needs to find out soon.
Loved it. I thought that it was an amazing read from start to finish. Will recommend to others.

“A Little Getaway” by Bonnie Traymore is a quick and easy read that offers some light entertainment, but unfortunately, it didn’t quite draw me in the way I had hoped. The pacing is fast, and the plot moves along smoothly, making it a good choice for a short escape. However, I found it hard to connect with the characters or feel deeply invested in the storyline. The suspense didn’t hit the high notes I expect from a thriller, and the twists, while present, didn’t have the same impact as other books in the genre. Overall, it’s an okay read if you’re looking for something light and uncomplicated, but it didn’t leave a lasting impression.

It was a good, standard thriller: fast-paced, had some twists, but I was expecting more - a final twist that didn’t come in the end.
I wasn’t fond of any of the characters but the epilogue was sweet.
Also: calling this book a ‘spicy suspense thriller’ is not accurate, there were no spicy scenes.
I know that this review seems harsh but all in all I don’t regret reading this book, I had a great time, I just wouldn’t read it again.
