This book didn't have much of a story line. It was short and the sex was soft BDSM. The guys didn't interact with each other, only her. When he spit in her mouth and made her swallow I almost quit reading it. That's revolting to me.
In this short novella, we meet Anne, Nathaniel and Theo. They are three friends who go to school together. Nathaniel and Theo have been fantasizing about sharing their best friend Anne for a while. But what will happen if they do? And can they still be friends after?
This novella is very short. If you're looking for a book with a good plot, this book is not it. But if you are looking for a book full of spice, this book is for you.
The book is written in 3rd person, which i didn't like very much. It made it harder for me to understand the book and what was going on.
Overall it was a quick and spicy read. I wish it would be longer.
I received an advance review copy (ARC) for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
**Review for *Take Two: A Contemporary New Adult Sexy Short Story* by Ava Colt**
In *Take Two*, Ava Colt delivers a quick and steamy read that captures the essence of youthful exploration and romance. The story revolves around Anne and her two male best friends, Nathaniel and Theo, as they navigate their feelings and relationships during a trip across Europe. At just 38 pages, the novella leans heavily into its erotic elements, with sizzling scenes that ignite the pages from the start.
While the narrative primarily focuses on the sexual chemistry and dynamics of a polyamorous relationship, it lacks deeper character development. Readers looking for a robust plot may find the storyline somewhat thin, but the book excels in its exploration of trust and the complexities of modern relationships. The dialogue occasionally feels stilted, yet Colt’s writing effectively conveys the passionate connection among the trio.
Overall, *Take Two* serves as a fun, lighthearted escape for fans of high-heat romance and quick reads. If you’re in the mood for a fast-paced, steamy adventure without the weight of heavy themes, this novella is worth a try
Short but steamy.
I would have like more preamble to the story and a little bit more substance. But as a short story it's quick good read.
3.5 Stars!
This book is a short and sweet story will only being 38 pages long. It was a quick read and for all you romance and smut lovers - very ideal! Of course it was short so you only really got a small glimpse into the three characters, Anne, Nathaniel and Theo. This book was very steamy and has somewhat of a snapshot of a storyline too.
Thank you to NetGalley for this copy in exchange for a review.
Short novella of three students who decide to take their friendship to the next level and travel around Europe together having a lot of steamy fun on the way. For a short book the characters have a lot of personality and the plot is still a driving force of the story.
his erotic novel certainly delivers on its promise of steamy, intense scenes that leave you breathless. The sex scenes are well-written, detailed, and incredibly hot, making it a page-turner for fans of the genre. The chemistry between the characters feels electric, and the author doesn't shy away from exploring a variety of sensual encounters.
However, while the heat level is undeniably high, the character development leaves something to be desired. The protagonists are a bit one-dimensional, and their backstories don't dive deep enough to create strong emotional connections with the reader. The plot could have benefited from more time spent on building the characters beyond their sexual dynamics.
That said, if you're looking for an erotic escape with passion at the forefront, this book delivers. Just don't expect a deep emotional journey alongside the heat.
The FMC and her two male best friends decide to have a little fun in their own way. I wouldn’t say this book was for me exactly.
Between 2.5 and 3 stars
I wish I could unread this book, the author said it herself it was feminism taking steps back
The writing is not good, the spice just doesn't really give anything nothing about it good
Exactly as advertised. Sm^t with a HEA. Also contains some degradation k!nk as a fair warning. Over all with the evening read and I'll pick up books by this author again.
Title: Take Two
Genre: Erotic Romance
This debut novella dives headfirst into the steamy world of a college-aged throuple, focusing on the FMC's journey with two male best friends. While the plot takes a backseat to the spicy scenes that start from page one, the author shows promise in their exploration of polyamorous relationships.
The chemistry between the characters sizzles, though some dialogue feels stilted at times. The book's strength lies in its unabashed approach to sexuality, though some readers might wish for deeper character development and plot complexity.
Recommended for readers who:
Enjoy high-heat romance from the first page
Appreciate female-centric narratives
Are interested in polyamorous relationships
Don't mind lighter plots in favor of steamy scenes
A super quick raunchy read but not too spicy. It jumps straight into the smuttyness but there is still a story to it. Well done for a fun wee read Ava Colt.
Thank you to NetGalley for letting me read and review.
A short and steamy story! I thought the book had a lot of spice and a simple plot. It was an easy book in between ones that are more complex. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.
If you are looking for a quick smutty read this is for you. It doesn’t waste time with the 38 pages it is to get to what people want.
I do love that Theo was reading count of Monte Cristo that’s one of my favorite books
oh I was in for a ride for this one.
This a short erotic romance about the formation of a throuple between three college friends. This is a very female-centred romantic fantasy of how a young woman has both her sexual and emotional needs met by two men who are also best mates. The writing is decent but some of the dialogue is a bit awkward. The spice is somewhat steamy. This was a fair to good reading experience with tons of potential.
it was also a super quick read, and from a third POV
If you like your spice, lots of spice from page one. Weak plot really just supports the spice. So if you like it spicy, here you go.
2.76 "lots of potential, kind of hot, " stars !!
Thank you to Netgalley, the author and BooksGoSocial for an ecopy. This was released October 2024.

My sense is that this author could really push herself and write some meaningful longer works that take throuples seriously whether it be a romantic drama or erotic romance.
I also love the book cover....yes they are clothed but oh so sexy !
My one selfish little wish is that the men had been at least heteroflexible but hey I might be a little bi-(ased) lol !
I just started listening to this arc this morning while doing my chores, and I must say this book is short because I just literally started and now 27% of the book is read. Thank you to Netgalley and publisher. If you like your books spicy than this is definitely for you! My full review is to follow as I will listen to this arc again later tonight. It’s the 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️ part so I’ll have to come back to this arc later on evening and listen to my other arcs for the time being while I workout and do my chores.
For short story it was fine. The dynamic between the characters was pretty average for this type of writing. The spice was good enough detail and nothing overboard.
This was great! It was a short easy novella that I read in one sitting. It was super high heat and the sexual chemistry between the three characters was great! But there was also enough depth and emotion to feel for these characters and hope they had a happy ending together! Such an easy read!
