Wow! This book had me on the edge of my seat! It was so good. The beginning was a little slow but I feel it was world building. The ending also felt a bit abrupt but it was so good!!

I can't say enough good things about this book. Bishop is the ultimate badass, and I absolutely loved reading her story. Brit Knight knows how to take you on a journey and make you feel every single emotion these characters feel. I was hooked from the very first chapter and did not want to put this book down. There's action, romance, a found family dynamic, and a hero/villain that will keep you hooked to the very end. And that plot twist! The one that had me yelling at the book in disbelief and left me completely shocked.

If you are a fan of the Mass Effect series, then you absolutely have to read this book!

I'm happy to be able to say that I survived Bishop, and I will 100% be jumping back in to read her story again and again!

Bishop was a fast paced, immersive and thought provoking space opera and it had me hooked from start to finish. The characters were unique and well developed particularly the main character of Bishop- her resilience, rapport with the other characters in the story particularly with her crew as well as her superiors of the RISE organization was flawless and she had a strong fighting spirit in the face of battle and adversity.
In terms of the setting, whilst reading it, it gave me Defiance and The Orville vibes whilst clearly outlining the fact that the story was set in the depths of space providing a vivid outline of travelling through space and the vastness of various galaxies as a whole whilst perfectly outlining the world of the AI enemy in key parts of the story when needed.
The plot was unique and kept me engaged with the story as well as the plight of all the characters involved along with the good versus evil adage being faultlessly executed and enhancing my overall reading experience. This story was a five star read and I look forward to reading other works by this author in the future.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | 1 🌶
This book shredded my soul in the best possible way. I’m still emotionally wrecked—and yet somehow already itching to dive back in.

Brit has this unmatched ability to make you fall in love with every single character, even the ones who break your heart. The connections, the raw emotion, the perfectly timed pain and healing... it’s masterful.

Bishop isn’t just a character. She’s an experience. A journey. A whole emotional rollercoaster you willingly board even though you know you’re not coming out the same.

✨️Battlestar Galactica X Mass Effect
✨️ Action-packed with a splash of romance
✨️ Found Family
✨️ SOB FEST

Brit Knight has officially become an auto-buy author, and I’m counting down the days until I can start Channelers.

And with that, I can finally say…
I SURVIVED BISHOP.

If you grew up watching Star Trek or Babylon 5, this book was written to continue those adventures.

I rated this a solid 4.5 stars, as it started with a battle that instantly got you in your feelings and from then until the end, Brit Knight, the author, kept that pace and excitement all the way up!

Bishop the FMC, and title character, is a fighting, rumbling product of her tough life. Always ready to share her punch first philosophy, it was easy for me to get attached to her, and understand why she was the way she was. If I ever need a rescue and I can call a fictional character, I would be fine if I called on her! LOL!

Another delicious aspect to this story was the found family. There were some friends from her past, some news ones, and then a couple surprises that made my jaw slacken as I read. I mean the book just keeps you on your toes, with events happening, decisions going to hell, and so much awesome action.

BUT!!!!! What really got me in the gut, was the villain. I will not give any spoilers. All I will say, is that the villain in this book, the monstrous enemy...will make your brain pause and start to rearrange itself as more is revealed along the way. To me that elevates this book from good to great!

With easy writing, and descriptions that make you feel like a part of the team, I really have nothing but joy from reading this book.
This was an exciting swim into the moral grey of humanity, one that left a helluva impression.

If you have never tried Sci-Fi before but want a good way to start....welcome, this book is it.
If you love Sci-Fi and want one of those stories that makes you disappear into it....this book is it.
If you want a good action adventure that is full of battles and solving inner turmoil with fists....THIS BOOK IS IT!
Read this one y'all...promise you will not regret it.

Book Fort Rating: 5 Stars
Is it building the Book Fort? Bishop literally runs the place, are you kidding?

I really do not give out five-star reads that often, and certainly not usually for indie titles.

But BISHOP by Brit Knight is something special - my five-star reads are reserved for books that fundamentally altered my life in some measure, or books I know I'll be coming back to over and over again. BISHOP is firmly the latter: an emotional and action-packed romp through the cosmos, with a stellar romance subplot to boot. It's the kind of book that sneaks up on you, seemingly just an action packed sci-fi, only to heavy hit with questions about love, trauma, and life purpose. Tellingly, there came a certain point in the novel where I physically could not put it down until I knew how it was going to end (and even then... I finished it first).

So here's what I loved:
- Even though BISHOP contains a romance, this is not the "smack you over the head and take over the story" romance. It is, however, the "deeply traumatize you and simultaneously make you fall in love" tragic romance, and I ate. It. Up.
- BISHOP delicately (if Bishop could ever be delicate) handles major themes around loss, trauma, war, and (arguable) immortality. What kind of person do we become, if all we have ever known is loss and trauma? How does it color the way we view the world and the people around us?
- The characterization in this novel is stellar. Each character has a clear and discernible personality, with noticeable layers and complexity. No small feat for any writer.
- The plot twist. The plot twist??? The plot twist. I'll leave it there.

What I didn't like:
- If anything, I do feel the book suffered a bit in pacing - sections of the book did seem slow, and others were very quick (give me more Bishop and love interest heart-to-hearts!). This is not unexpected with an indie novel, however, and I do not feel that the plot truly suffered for this.

This book was simultaneously so fun and also impactful. Brit Knight does a truly remarkable job exploring the world of Bishop and her AI enemies. I truly look forward to reading more of her work, and eventually seeing this book get the traditional publishing treatment.

Thank you to NetGalley and Brit Knight for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Brit Knight takes you to a new world after a 10 year war and sucks you right into the story! This book had me hooked from the first chapter. Took me on twist and turns I wasn’t expecting. I fell in love with every character she introduced (mostly 😉). Truly a fantastic story about a bad-ass FMC and with a crew just as crazy!

I cannot overstate how much everyone should read this book. I am not normally a sci-fi reader but this book made me want to read more of the genre. If I can only convince you to read one book this year it would be this one. Please do yourself a favor and read this. Someday soon a big publisher is gonna discover this and you will kick yourself for not reading sooner!!!! If you like strong women and save the world stories then this one is for you! An emotional rollercoaster of a book!!! GO READ IT!!!!

🔥 5 Stars – Savage Sci-Fi Action with an Anti-Heroine You’ll Love!

Okay, BISHOP by Brit Knight absolutely wrecked me in the best way possible. If you love gritty, action-packed sci-fi with badass characters, intense battles, and a world that feels like Mass Effect meets Battlestar Galactica with a touch of The Walking Dead—you NEED this book.

Bishop isn’t your typical hero. She’s a former convict and war legend, but not because she was noble—nope, she survived through sheer ferocity and battle instincts. Thirty years after she died, she’s back, and the enemy she thought was gone is creeping in again. The problem? No one is as ready for the fight as she is. Watching her take charge of a team who have NO idea what they’re walking into was so satisfying. She’s ruthless, sharp, and has zero patience for nonsense.

The found family dynamic? Chef’s kiss. I loved how rough their connections started and how trust (and tension 👀) built over time. And the AI villain? Legit terrifying. Every confrontation had my heart racing.

Oh, and let’s talk about that plot twist. The one that left me staring at my wall in shock. The one that personally attacked me. Yeah. I’m still recovering.

If you love high-stakes sci-fi, morally gray characters, and stories that hurt so good, BISHOP is 100% for you. Read it. Then come scream about it with me. 🚀🔥

Final Verdict: BISHOP is a high-octane, gut-punch of a book that I devoured and immediately wanted more of. Absolutely recommend! 💀🚀
