This was my favourite of the three guides by the authors. I have learned loads and will definitely reuse and recommend the tips to the young people and parents I support in my job.

A very good activity book for autistic children about recognising and working with their emotions and feelings.
At the core lies accepting them and being in more tune with them and the strategies for being more empowered are helpful.

It was such a cozy book! I'm not autistic nor neurodivergent, but it still helped me, like with explaining what you can feel during certain emotions. I really like how there were a lot of examples of experiencing different emotions. The book mostly focuses on anxiety, but the authors described everything so thoughtfully and in details. The language is really simple, perfect, it's written in such a way that everyone will understand it. For someone who likes children and would like to work with neurodivergent ones, this book was really helpful tohelp me understand them better.

As an occupational therapist, I am always looking for new ways to present and strengthen social emotional learning. I appreciated how this book used animals to help increase the interest in the topic. All the different factors were explained so well and had coordinating activities to help reinforce the ideas. It was kept light bright and wasn’t over wordy. This could easily be incorporated into sessions or designed into a program for a teacher to use in her classroom. I hope to read the other books. This could really be a helpful tool for any child struggling with social emotional learning.

I really liked this! As an adult who works with neurodiverse children I learnt a lot from this and can see how it may benefit many of the students I work with. I had never heard of the term nociception before, but found it so interesting diving more into the senses and emotions!
