The Iron Fey has long been one of my favourite series. I read the original series back in 2012 and absolutely loved it. The Iron Warrior has sat unread on my shelf since it's release. I don't know why I never got around to reading it so I thought it was about time that I finally finished off this series. I want to say I absolutely loved this book.... but I didn't. I don't know whether I'd had too much of a break inbetween the previous book and this one but I actually really struggled with the first two-thirds of this book.

The Iron Warrior is the final book in the series about The Forgotten. I remember loving this series but this one just felt so very slow to me in pacing. If you've been following me for a while you'll probably know I'm very much a fussy reader when it comes to slow pacing. I like fast-paced books that keep my attention and the majority of the books that I don't finish are because of pacing issues. I really struggled with the slowness of this book and I almost put it down a couple of times but I was determined to push through and finally finish this series.

The last third of the book really did pick up in pacing and I did really enjoy it. It was a great ending to Ethan and Kieran's story and I am so glad that I pushed through and got to the end and it was worth it and Kieran did get his redemption. I highly recommend this series but my advice would be to not leave a gap of 5 years in between books. If I hadn't have left it so long maybe I would have enjoyed it a lot more. As it is, I am excited for the new Iron Fey books coming from Julie Kagawa and I will definitely be reading them.

One of the best books I've read. I love Julie Kagawa's style of writing! Can't wait to read more of her books!

To be honest this probably isn't going to be the most fair review as I'm reviewing this as a standalone rather than a trilogy.

I received this book to review off of netgalley and when I did I didn't realise that it was part of a series. If I had I would have read the others first. This meant that I knew nothing about any of the characters or what they'd been through and I hadn't grown any feelings for them.

However I found this book intriguing. I mean in the very first chapter Ethan comes back from the dead? I found it fun and interesting getting to know them all. I loved Ethan, Razor and Kenzie as well as Meaghan. I loved Ethan and Kenzies relationship. It was so cute.

Overall not a bad story and I'm glad I got the chance to read it.

I have been in love with Julie Kagawa's work from the first Iron Fey series so when I knew there was a spin-off, of course, I was excited. I devoured the first two books and after this book got pushed back and had its name changed I was obviously very excited when it was first released.

The book is a great ending to the series and I really loved it. It was nice being with the characters again and seeing how they react with each other. To me, Julie Kagawa can do no wrong especially when this book took so long to come out, I did just want to know how it ended.

This being said, however, The Iron Warrior was a great end to the series. We got to see all of my favourite characters back again and I do just love Keirran and Ethan and their relationship and also really love Ethan and Kenzie’s love affair too.

I did love this book and this series and I feel like more people need to read Julie Kagawa’s books so please do that so that I can gush over my feels.
