Description
Welcome to Solvik - a seemingly cozy little town on the Norwegian coast. It's an idyllic place with old, white wooden houses, almost a touch of paradise. However, under the surface lays intrigues, jealousy, and rivalry, threatening to destroy friendships.
Emmelin inherits her childhood home and must decide whether to sell it or move back to Solvik. With a husband who can't stand the country life, and no jobs available, the decision seems like an easy one. Confronted with decisions made in her younger days, she now faces deep remorse and indecisiveness. Trying to justify her actions and make things right, Emmelin discovers she's far from the only one withholding the truth and hiding dark secrets and lies.
In the midst of accusations, devious intentions, and new love, can Emmelin forgive and forget her father's betrayal and let go of the family drama from her past? Is she finally ready to embrace the future and trust her second chance at romance and love?
Time for Honesty is the first book in the Solvik series - a sweet small-town romance series with elements of mystery.

5.0 out of 5 stars - Great book!

I enjoy reading a book and wanting to click 5 stars when
done. Time for Honesty is one of those books. This was a well written book and grabbed my attention from the beginning. I love romance, secrets and mystery in a story. This novel has them all. It also had more. There was the husband I wanted to hit over the head with a frying pan, the secret that found ways to stay hidden and the lost love that burned through the years, but was always just out of reach by some interruption of life. And through the entire story little mysteries kept creeping up.

What a great book....Mette Barfield did a great job of placing the reader in the scene. I cheered for Emmelin and loved that she got out of a bad situation for her and her son and was able to strike out on her own. I am not sure I would have been as easy on forgiving her sister as Emmelin was. Emmelin went through a lot in her life and was able to come out of it and achieve. Loved the book and would look forward to reading more of her books.
I really enjoyed this book,it made me feel like I was there, good cakes, good place to live, this book is a must read
This is the first book i have read by Mette Barfelt. Time for honesty was a good read. It's basically about life in general. The ups and down , the struggles and the joy. It takes place in Norway and about a women stuck in an unhappy marriage, a very selfish husband, her sister and her have a rather poor relationship. After her mother passes away, her life is turn upside down with choices to make to start a new life, but wait !!!! There is a man from her past and a child she gave away. This story was very believable , however in my opinion it drug out a bit, I think it could have been shorter and got the same effect or maybe two separate stories ? There were times when I skipped over pages thinking is this ever going to end. Yes I would recommend it to a friend, but also give them the heads up that it is a very slow moving book.
Loved this descriptive emotional read filled with secrets and a little mystery. I also love the townspeople of Solvik and looking forward to the rest of the series. Emmelin must make decisions about her future for her and her son. Dennis is still in love with Emmelin and they both have secrets. When secrets are revealed lives change. Recommended Read
An easy to read book that I enjoyed. Recommended to anyone with a few hours to themselves.
Time for honesty is a heart warming enjoyable read. written at a nice pace. You will like Emmeline,
Magda and even Vera, might dislike Julie and Emmeline's husband Leo to. You'll even like,
some of the new people that come into her life after everything she's been through.
.So if, and when you get a chance, pick up a copy and enjoy.
