Wonderful sewing book. Imaginative and great for all levels of knowledge.

I'm more of a 'wool' person, but I have been know to dabble in some sewing, so thought I would give this book a try. The cover is beautiful and makes you want to get your sewing machine out! There are over 20 sewing, patchwork, applique and quilting projects and they are all shown with clear colour pictures and concise instructions. For me, personally, being a self confessed sewing amateur, the instructions do look a little bit complicated but if you know what you're doing I'm sure they all make sense. I would definitely say this book is aimed at intermediate to advance as opposed to beginner, like myself!
The actual projects are beautiful, I particularly love the quilted and patchwork cushions! There are good lists at the back of the book of everything that you will need to attempt these projects and patterns to trace or photocopy to use (there is also a link to download printable patterns). The measurements are given in imperial and metric measurements, so it caters for everyone.
A lovely book if you are interested in patchwork and quilting or if you'd like to give it a try!
Such stunning designs available in this book. The instructions and images are very clear. I loved the fabric flower design and the tree pillow. Everything is this book will look gorgeous in the home and as gifts.
"Tilda Sewing by Heart' by Tone Finnanger is a delightful array of projects. Her ideas are adorable and inventive. Her use of color is terrific. Having read tons of instructions for quilts in my life, Ms. Finnanger has clear concise well written instructions. There is no searching for how many blocks you need to make and how the quilt is laid out. The templates at the back of the book are also well done. There are also beautiful pillow to make which match the quilt. Also with all your left over scraps she uses them to make yet another project. I enjoyed this immensely and look forward to working on several of the projects in the book. I only have one detraction. When you are looking through this book at the photographs, do not let the background of the photograph (the wallpaper) distract you from the actual quilt. The quilts are beautiful so take the time to really look at the quilt itself on the pages that follow. Wonderful! Look forward to seeing more from Ms. Finnangar.
