What a Lovely book Drawing Wild Animals by Oana Befort and Maggie Reinbold is. This book is for a beginner who would like to learn how to draw all kinds of animals from Toads, to frogs, giraffes, tigers, polar bears, elks the list goes on.
It has a brilliant selection of wild animals to learn how to draw them, by step-by-step guidelines that were easy to follow.
This book will feed your curiosity of all the animals that are featured. You wll learn the characteristics, behaviors and, habitats of these animals from categories like predators, grazers, and marsupials.
This book is excellent especially for art classes at school or for people who would just like to learn how to draw

This is an excellent beginners book to drawing for middle grade to adults. It has great illustrations and they are step by step! Not only do they cover various animals but the reader is given fun facts along the way.
The drawing steps and tips make it look so easy I tried a few and I certainly am a beginner and I was so happy at what I achieved. My grand daughter is 13 and is just getting started in art and I think it would be wonderful for her too! This author has two sales already! This is for realistic art.

Easy to use in classroom with young artist. The book contains wonderful illustration and easy tutorials to reproduce in class.

"Drawing Wild Animals" is an art book on drawing animals. The conservation educator provided some basic information about the animals in the demonstrations. The artist showed how to draw wild animals with 26 step-by-step demonstrations. Each demonstration had 6-8 steps with easy-to-follow illustrations and clear text instructions. She used general colors in the instructions rather than specific brand name colors, so you don't need a specific brand to follow the demonstrations.

She started by drawing the basic shapes in pencil, then connecting and refining the shapes. She then added the features, fur, and patterns to make the animal look realistic. She used ink to draw the finalized lines then used watercolor to add color and shading. While not hyper-realistic, the finished art is realistic, not stylized. She didn't specifically talk about how to look at an animal and figure out the steps (using shapes to establish proportions, refinement of the form, adding details), but she did point out how the steps for one animal could be used to draw similarly shaped animals. I felt like I could apply the steps to animals that aren't in the demonstrations. Overall, I'd highly recommend this book to beginning animal artists, from children to adult.

Gorgeous, fascinating, and helpful

Drawing Wild Animals: Essential Techniques and Fascinating Facts for the Curious Artist is everything I love in a book! It truly is for the curious artist! The illustrations are simply gorgeous, the directions are clear and easy to follow, and the explanations and scientific background of the animals are fascinating.

There are just so many beautiful pictures illustrating the techniques covered, this art book is eminently usable for artists of every age. While I’ve only used the PDF, I look forward to getting the Flexibound (which I hope means spiral bound or something similar).

I can’t think of any way to describe how I felt about this book after reading the PDF; I just wanted the physical book in my hand so I could admire the printed illustrations and share it with my daughter, who also loves to draw.

This book spans over 144 pages with intriguing step-by-step guides to drawings various wild animals, such as the bengel tiger, gray wolf, hippopotamus, giraffe, elephant, hedgehog, chinchilla, sloth, monkey, lemur, gecko, crocodile, sea turtle, etc.

According to the Contents page, this book is divided into three main chapters, which are titled as Mammals, Amphibians, and Reptiles. The main chapter of Mammals is divided into the following nine sections: Drawing Predators, Drawing Grazers, Drawing Elephants, Drawing Burrowers, Drawing Rodents and Rabbits, Drawing Sloths, Drawing Bats, Drawing Primates, and Drawing Marsupials. The main chapter of Amphibians is divided into two sections with the titles of Drawing Frogs and Toads and Drawing Salamanders and Newts. The main chapter of Reptiles is divided into the following three sections, which are titled as Drawing Lizards and Snakes, Drawing Crocs and the Like, and Drawing Turtles and Tortoises. Also, there are additional sections, including Preface, Drawing and Tools, Conservation and Value, Resources, About the Authors, and Index.

Drawing Wild Animals is a creative book that's geared toward inspiring artists, particularly elementary and junior high school students.

“Drawing Wild Animals” is a beautiful how to draw book! I looked the featured animals, and it’s good for both adults and children.

Brilliant book with easy to follow drawings of a variety of animals. The instructions are so clear with just the right amount of staged steps to achieve amazing results. The way the author demonstrates looking for common shapes in the animals makes the skills transferrable to other animals not included in the book. I definitely want to own the hard copy when it is published. I love this book thank you

I think that my students would love this book! It has the right amount of detail and instruction, and the skills learned should be transferable to drawing other creatures.

At first glance at the book, I felt a bit intimidated to try drawing wild animals. But after putting it to a test, I lost all my reservations and I can honestly say I love drawing with the help of this book. It might seem daunting to draw a Bengal Tiger or a Green Sea Turtle, but Oana Befort broke down the task into easy, manageable steps. Each step is explained and beautifully illustrated: from jotting down simple geometric shapes like circles and ovals to define the guidelines for the animal's body, then filling them in with more and more naturalistic details, to coloring the final drawing. I chose the Koala for my first attempt. I looked at the illustrations and followed the instructions next to them. The final drawing came out great. The insightful blurbs with technique tips that accompany each lesson add a nice touch to the already engaging instructions. I also like Maggie Reinbold's informative descriptions of each animal and her chapter on the value of protecting the biodiversity on our planet. Overall this book is a wonderful book for people of all ages over 10 who want to learn how to draw animals and who are curious to learn more about them.
