Super easy recipes for bath bombs & other beauty and bath treats made using natural ingredients. These young entrepreneurs give straightforward advice and recipes for making what can be pricey treats at the store.
My only complaint, and it's a small one, is that some of the recipes use essential oils tat sound like commercial fragrances.
Learn how to make your own bath bombs, bath scrubs and more! I just had to read this book! Every time I walk past a certain well-known high street store that specialises in bath bombs I get giddy on the smell that emanates from their shop! I love bath bombs and I love the smells and fizzes that you get from them. I don’t often have a bath – no, I don’t smell, it’s quicker and easier to have a shower! – but when I do I can’t think of anything more relaxing than dropping a bath bomb in and watching it fizz away!! The only problem is they are expensive! So if I could make my own, wouldn’t that be better? This is where this book comes in…..ta-dah! – an easy to use guide on how to do just that. It tells you what you need, it tells you what to do with everything and it gives you detailed instructions and clear colour pictures to use.
There are different shapes, different colours and different smells. Of course, you don’t have to follow their examples, as long as you follow their basic recipes you could add your own colours and fragrances, but if you do follow the book there are so very clever recipes in there, such as colour changing bombs, healing bombs and even ones which will turn the water black!
It’s not all just bombs though, there are also examples of other things to make. Face masks, scrubs, eye treatments, toners, lip scrub, teeth whitener and hair treatments. There are also bath jellies, bath slime and shower scrubs! The possibilities using this book are endless! It’s also not just aimed at women’s fragrances and products, there are plenty of things for men too!
The book does have a list of places where you can gather supplies, but it does look like this list is mainly aimed at the US market. I’m sure though that there are places for us UK shoppers where you can get the things that you need to have a go at this. Written by the two founders of the Da Bomb Bath Fizzers, it’s obviously that this book has been written by experts!!
A fabulous, fun, fizzy book which I imagine with go down well with everyone! Use it on your own, a girly night in or even get the kids making it. I have to admit though, it looks that simple that even I could make one!
I really enjoyed this book. I am crafty and I love to make my own things! Fizz Boom Bath! is colorful with easy to follow instructions. I truly feel prepared to make my own bath bombs and other beauty products just from reading this. I also loved that recommendations on where to buy certain products are included; where to get things is always a big question. Full of vivid photos and easy instructions, Fizz Boom Bath! should be on any crafter's to-do list!
This beautiful book is amazing!
I have always been curious about how to make bath bombs since they are so beautiful but super pricey in stores! They make fantastic gifts and smell amazing! This book lays out all the details of how to make the bath bombs with ingredient lists, directions, beautiful pictures and more I am so excited to make some and plan to make them as gifts for my neighbors around Christmas time! Definitely a great buy if you enjoy making gifts for others or would like to make them to enjoy yourself!
I received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Fizz Boom Bath! is a new how-to and tutorial guide to all things bath-y, including fizzes, bath bombs, scrubs, melts and more. Written by young sister entrepreneurs Isabel and Caroline Bercaw, it's 144 pages published by Quarto-Rock Point and available in ebook and hardback formats.
I am a huge bath geek. In my opinion, there are -very- few problems that aren't seriously ameliorated by a long soak in a tub (for really BAD problems, add red wine (to a glass, not to the bathtub) and a water-resistant ebook reader. Rinse and repeat. If you buy bath bombs from the boutique stores, it leaves a significant dent in the wine budget, so learning to make your own is a win-win situation.
Additionally, a lot of ready made bath bombs have greasy cheap additives and bulk fillers... along with scary artificial colours and other goop.
This book gives you a fun alternative to ready-made. You get to choose the scents and colours (if any) as well as the size and ingredients. The instructions are simple enough, in theory, and would be a fun project with kids if supervised.
There are dozens of recipes, including all sorts of bombs, fizzers, foams, scrubs etc.. along with lots of suggestions for homemade beauty products including lip balm and creams, soaks, scents, masks and toners/spritzes.
The book is exuberant, well photographed and suitable for all ages (though aimed at teen/tween female audiences).
There's a short but handy resource guide (mostly for North American readers) and a useful index to recipes included in the book.
The world desperately NEEDS more tub time in my humble opinion.
PS Pro-tip: you can turn ebook reader pages with the tip of your nose, nullifying the need to dry your hands on a towel, or put down your wine glass.
5 stars
I totally love this book. I can not wait to create some of these bath bombs. Thank you for letting me review this book. People are going to love this book.
Have you ever wanted to make your own bath bombs? It is not as difficult as it may seem. This book offers you a detailed guide into ingredients as well as easy to follow (and tweak) recipes to get you started.
What I especially liked about the first part of the book were the many different bath bomb shapes. The authors did not stick to the traditional large round ball of material but experimented with different molds, my favourite is the geodode bath bomb.
The second part of the book offers recipes for other beauty products for face, hair and lips. There are recipes for facial and hair masks, scrubs, toners, lip balm and so much more.
The next section is about bath soaks, so non-fizzy bath ingredients to pamper yourself. Followed by a section with products for hands and feet, and anything else.
A lovely book on how to make bath bombs, beauty products for your hair, face, body and lips.
It tells you all the ingredients and tools you will need. Gives you lots of recipes for different flavours etc.
Great for anyone wanting to try their own flavour combinations.
If you’re looking to learn how to make your own bath bombs, this is a great book to get you more than started. The Bercaw sisters do a great job in sharing their tips and tricks on how they got started and give you some great for themed bombs to get your own creative juices flowing.
The authors may be young, but their writing style and voice is years ahead. These two yang ladies will be going places in life...and you will be heading to the kitchen or work roo
I am so impressed with this book; I can’t believe it was written by two teenagers! I think back to my teenage years and I remember getting an odd job or babysitting to make $20. These girls have a thriving bath bomb business, and I can see why. Their bombs seriously are “the bomb.” Having tried my hand at making some Pinterest bath bombs, I am so excited to try some of these recipes. I love the Rosemary Revival Steamer, which is like a bath bomb for your face with real leaves of rosemary blended in. What a great idea to make a facial steam more fun and relaxing! There are loads of recipes for bath bombs, but that’s not all! Non bath bomb recipes I want to try include the Green Goodness Face Mask, the Perfection Please Puffy Eye Treatment, the Hair Zombie Treatment, and the Cool Clobberer Shower Melt. The recipes in this book are very professional and you can tell a lot of thought and attention to detail went into creating the recipes. The instructions are thorough and every recipe looks doable. Highly recommended.
I received an advance reader copy in exchange for my honest review.
This is such a colourful and instructive book. Full of everything you need to know about making bath bombs and other bath and bathing items. The instructions are easy to follow and the pictures are fab. A great book for anyone who’s looking to start making their own goodies.
As soon as I finished reading the five pages of introduction, I searched their official website, and I started to think back what I was doing for fun when I was 10 or 11......I'm 19 now. They have already owned a company. WHAT AM I DOING? Their story is so inspiring! Turning their hobby into a company ---- what job can be better than that?
Aside from the inspiring story, LOVE the pictures, love the page design, and the cover is as adorable as their colorful bombs. The recipes are really, super easy. and I'm ready to get some ingredients and make my bathtime fun and enjoyable =)
First of all....I am amazed at Isabel and Caroline's story. They are truly creative and inspiring girls! Their parents must be so proud. This book is pretty great! So colorful...so fun...so easy to use. I love the themes and names of their bath bombs. I love that it's a family affair, even their little brother has named and created some of the bath bombs. But this book goes beyond bath bombs. Their are shower fizzes for people like me that don't really do baths. There are plenty of other homemade products aimed at pampering oneself. Really well done girls!
Colourful and effervescent as a bath bomb itself, this book fizzes with ideas for making your own bombs, melts and scrubs.
The instructions seem clear and straightforward and yes, that’s the most important thing, but the look – bright, modern pages and gorgeously styled photos – it’s the look I love the most.
Do you have a friend who inhales and exclaims in the vicinity of a Lush store? Get them this book.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC.
FIZZ BOOM BATH! is da bomb, in fact it’s the creation of the founders of Da Bomb. Such a fun guide for creating spa days at home using inexpensive organic ingredients. 5/5 for beautiful photos, creativity and fun!
Grateful to the authors, Quarto Publishing Group - Rock Point, and NetGalley for the early copy in exchange for my true review.

The Bercaw sisters started making bath bombs in their kitchen and turned their fun into a huge business. Good for them. Now they are sharing recipes with us so we give it a try too. A lot of the recipes are ones you can find anywhere, but the book is a fun gift for a teen.
I don't like tub baths so bath bombs don't appeal, but the shower melt variations certainly do. These are mini bombs that you put on the floor of the shower to set off fizz and scent when the hot water hits. There are other shower accessories like loofah scrubbers. I'm also interested in the insect repellent soap bar with lemon, eucalyptus and thyme. Research shows that these scents are not very effective for most people, but every little repelling bit helps. If I were going to make these recipes as gifts I would go for bath jellies and the bath blob – candy-like gels that but add bath oil and scent to the water. The shaving foam, though, sounds like too much work for a one-time batch.
The scents the Bercaws choose are a bit kid oriented – who really wants to smell like bubble gum – but they hint at more sophisticated combinations and the suppliers they list sell a wide range of fragrances for grownups.
I am reading an ARC and so the text is not in its final version. I could not help noticing that some of the recipes aren't complete. For example, one list mica chips but doesn't tell you when to use them. One nail soak lists mustard as an ingredient but doesn’t say what kind – dry yellow, black, Chinese prepared, regular yellow mustard or what. While there is discussion about avoiding greasy, discolored bathtubs and how to avoid dying your skin with the colorants, there is no reminder that using oils in shower stalls is particularly hazardous. There isn't much discussion about allergies either. I keep thinking of this book in the hands of preteens…
I'm a huge sucker for bath products - bath bombs, bubble bath, face masks, scrubs, you name it! This book is so well thought out and put together, I was really impressed when I saw that it was written by a 16 year old and a 17 year old. The photography and presentation is gorgeous, each product is unique and the instructions are clear and easy to follow. This is the perfect DIY book for any bath fan.
Bright and colorful, this book is a fun filled guide to all that one needs to know to make bath bombs. The books contains not only an explanation of each of the ingredients and tools needed to make the bath bombs (divided into 4 categories of fragrance: fruity, nutty and spicy, floral and aromatherapy), but also additional bath and beauty products for your face, hair, hands and feet, etc. It's easy enough to follow along, too, for various ages.
This is a delightful book on how to make your own bath bombs at home, along with a few extra beauty items such as foot & body scrubs, bath & body oils and hand creams.
The book is split into three main sections, starting with an introduction which explains the ingredients and equipment required to get going. The ingredients used you may have around the house (sugar, coconut oil) other you may need to purchase (fragrance oils, colours). Equipment wise, you can use household bowls (though you probably want separate ones from your cooking ones) and you'll need to get the moulds, which come in a variety of shapes and sizes.
Each bath bomb recipe provides enough to make around 3-4 and come with all the ingredients required in both metric and imperial measurements. The step by step guide explains how to make the bath bombs and how long you'll have to wait until you can fizz up your bath. There are a variety of different bath bombs to try: fruit, nutty & spicy, floral and aromatherapy.
The second part of the book explains how to make other beauty products for the face, lips & hair, soaks & melts and hands, feet & everything else. These allow for 1-2 scrubs or applications or a single hair treatment, though the lip balms make quite a few small containers worth, so you might be able to share it with your friends.
There is lots of colour photography of the finished products, equipment and ingredients, but there was no pictures of each stage of the mixing or assembling which was a little disappointing. There is a list of resources at the end of the book, but most are American suppliers.
I received this book from netgalley in return for a honest review.
This was an interesting and fun read. The book includes how the sisters started at 12 with just an idea to have fun and make bath bombs that didn’t require another shower after you got out of the tub. And while the recipes are fantastic, well laid out, and fun, I enjoyed their story so much more. This is a great read for a youngster and adult alike. Plus fun with science when you are don reading.
The bath bombs are the perfect gifts. I've made several of these and enjoyed them! Super easy recipes and perfect results every time.
Highly recommend!
Many thanks to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for my ARC. All opinions are my own.
I was SO happy when I found out I was going to get to review this book!
Da Bomb bath fizzers have been on the scene for a few years, and my husband and I both love to try them.
They're available at Target but, honestly, they're a little pricey.
That's why I am excited to get to try making my own bath bombs! I've followed a few recipes I've found online and none of them seemed to be quite perfect. Either the supplies were too obscure or the end result wasn't what we were going for.
The Bercaw sisters have written up simple yet beautiful recipes for many of the bombs in their line.
I can't wait to try a few that look particularly amazing. I'm thinking Tiki Time, Bronze Goddess, Geode Bomb, and Waffle Bomb are at the top of my list.
Also, there is an entire section for aromatherapy bombs which excites me even more. I've got a few favorite essential oils I would LOVE to put into some bath fizzers.
I am giving Fizz Boom Bath!: Learn How to Make Your Own Bath Bombs, Body Scrubs, and More! a total of 4 out of 5 stars.
Let me explain.
The bath bomb recipes look...bomb.
The directions are conversational and clear.
The pictures are gorgeous.
But, there are two major downfalls for me.
First, the section on "other bath and body products" seems a little out of place. I used to make lip balm as a young girl, and my recipe was similar to the one listed. Long story short, it was gross. So I will not be trying that.
Second, there are no pictures of the steps to make the bath bombs. I like to see the action. Visuals are important in DIY manuals like this, and the Bercaws seem to have missed that mark.
The photography (done by ) is beautiful and showcases each bomb's unique colors and qualities, but there is not photography to show the reader what their projects should look like along the way.
Anyway, if DIYing your own bath fizzers tickles your fancy, hopefully you'll get on over to your nearest bookseller (or head over to Amazon) to get your own copy on August 7th!
Thanks for reading!
Oh my god this book has been written for me. It’s like someone came and sat down with me and said what beauty treats would you love in your bathroom and love to make and they are all in this book. I love the suggestions and the photos that are in the book make everything look so exciting I’m ready to go and buy the ingredients today and start making some of these.
I LOVED this book! It was cute and fun, and had a ton of personality. I also loved the pictures which were bright and vibrant. I can’t wait to have a ton of fun making these. I came for the bath bombs and stayed for ALL THE BEAUTY RECIPIES
This book is AWESOME!! I loved everything about it!
The author prefaces the book by telling how she and her sister, Caroline, (10 & 12 years old) began experimenting with making their own bath bombs in 2012. They got so engrossed in it, that they began making several types/fragrances and selling them at local craft fairs, expanding their products to include scrubs, facial and foot masks, and hair treatments. Soon local retailers were placing orders, and they had eight employees working out of their house. In 2015, their parents both quit their jobs to work full-time on this enterprise. What a great story!!
The book is a joy to read - colorful, fun, great photography, and incredibly informative. If you are interested in anything "bathology" you will learn all you need to know within these pages. You'll learn what materials you need, where to find them and there are lots of easy to follow recipes with pictures of each.
VERY WELL DONE!! You go, girls!!
Many thanks to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing - Rock Point for allowing me to read an e-ARC of this book in exchange for an unbiased review.
I truly enjoyed this book! It was very informative. The instructions were very easy to follow. I liked that they had a variety of recipes, from easy to advanced. I made a few with my little girl and we had a blast. Will be using many of these for the holidays, as gifts.
Do you like DIY books? Are you wondering, why do I spend so much on bath products? Although you might have to spend a bit to get the ingredients for these products, once you have them they'll last for a long time. This book contains the recipes for tons of fun bath bombs, face masks, facial sprays, foot scrubs, foot masks, shaving creams, body scrubs, lotion bars, shower jellies, shower fizzers and tons of other things!
Coming into this book, I expected mostly bath bombs, but was pleasantly surprised to find out that there was a range of products to make. The pictures are vibrant and just beautiful all together, showcasing the shop's best and I'm assuming favourite and easy to make products. I really enjoyed checking this book out, and am excited to try to make some of the things I've seen, especially the body scrubs. I'll leave an update for when I try out some of the items in the book and let you know what I think of them. Overall I really enjoyed this book and I think anyone who likes to craft or make body products will like it too. I checked out the business's Instagram immediately after finishing this book, and followed them, and I think you should too.
Thanks for reading!

This is a beautifully illustrated book, with fun recipes that are easy to make.
Detailed description of each process and great aesthetic photos.
This book serves as a perfect gift idea for handmade items.
Fizz Boom Bath! is an adorable book written by two young sisters, the creators and founders of Da Bomb Fizzers bath bomb company. The book opens with the story of their success – they started making the bath bombs in 2011, when they were 10 and 11 years old, and selling them at craft fairs. By the time they graduated high school the whole family was participating in the business (both parents quit their day jobs! They are now the CEO and CFO of the company) and they had contracts with Ulta, Hot Topic, and Target as well as a thriving online shop. And now a book!
After the introduction, they don’t waste any time getting right to the point. A short explanation of the ingredients needed (including a resource list of where to buy things like citric acid online, in case you can’t find it locally) is followed by dozens of recipes for bath bombs. They use fragrance oils but do mention that essential oils can be used instead. I’m not sure where you’d get banana or grape essential oils (they are big on fruit flavors, it seems!) but you could certainly use EOs for some of the other scents. The bath bomb recipes are divided into sections such as ‘Fruity,’ ‘Nutty & Spicy,’ and ‘Floral,’ but really all are variations on the same recipe. They do give instructions on how to make multicolored bombs and how to paint with eco glitter for different aesthetics, but the base recipe appears to be the same across all of the bath bombs.

About half the book is dedicated to the bath bombs – they are the foundation of their success, after all– but to be honest, my favorite part was in the second half of the book where they give recipes for face masks, lip scrubs, and hair products. Perhaps it’s my love of instant gratification, or simply that the ingredient lists are shorter and made up predominantly of things I keep in my kitchen (avocado, strawberries, yogurt, even Emergen-C vitamin supplement!), but I got pretty excited about this section. Some of the recipes are uber-simple such as the recipe for rose water (literally just rose petals and water) but others, such as the Curly Q Conditioning Spray, containing water, witch hazel, fractionated coconut oil, and vitamin E oil as well as fragrance (they suggest coconut but I imagine you could use anything!), are less obvious and a bit more intriguing to me personally. There’s even a bug repellent bar that uses lemon and eucalyptus EO in addition to fresh thyme and lemon zest and has the added benefit of moisturizing your skin while deterring the bugs!

I do have a few small critiques of the book, like the fact that they mention how customizable the bath bombs can be but then go on to change only the color and scent in the recipes they give. They mention using things like kaolin clay, different kinds of butters (shea, cocoa, etc), but they really stick to one basic recipe throughout. This is fine in itself – there’s nothing wrong with sticking with what works – but they don’t even change the language from one recipe to another so it seems repetitive to the point that maybe they didn’t need to list the whole recipe every time. They could have put the base recipe and then just followed up with ideas for color and scent combinations. On the other hand, most people probably don’t read a book like this cover to cover like I just did – the average reader will probably pick the recipe they want to make and focus on just that– so maybe it’s not really a problem. Further, writing the whole recipe out every time means more pages which translates to more room for pictures. I love this, because they feature perfect spheres as well as novelty shapes like hearts, stars, and even skulls – but these are also intermingled with simpler shapes like cubes that could be cut out of a cake pan, or cylinders that look like maybe they were made in a sippy cup (or at least, they could have been). This makes it all feel more accessible, and a reminder that aesthetic is only one part of the process. The only other critique I have is that there are names like “Tiki Time” and “Witch Doctor,” which rub me the wrong way, and an over-emphasis on gendered scents and colors which is really unnecessary.
Overall, I thought this was an impressive book to come from such young authors, but after reading the story of how they built their company it’s hardly surprising. Ironically, I probably wouldn’t buy it for the bath bomb recipes (though I do plan to try their basic formula, with my own scent combos) but I might consider it for the other body care potions and tips. For now, I’ll leave you with their recipe for a bath milk, which is something I’ve wanted to try for ages anyway. If you want to know how to make a bath bomb… well, you’ll have to get the book. ;) It was officially released today, August 7, so you should be able to find it online or ask for it at your local bookstore.
Bottom line, 4/5 stars. Might not buy for myself, but would probably get as a gift for a friend! Many of my critiques are personal style/taste rather than objective criticisms.
Milky Way Bath Milk from Fizz Boom Bath! page 103
5 drops fragrance (your choice)
½ tsp vanilla extract
10 drops Vitamin E oil
¾ c powdered whole milk
¼ c baking soda
If using right away, add each element to the tub under warm running water. If you’re making it ahead of time, mix well and store in an airtight container.
Makes enough for 1 bath.
I received an Advanced Reader Copy from Rock Point for my unbiased opinion of the book. What a great crafty book! I loved the backstory of how these sisters became sisterpreneurs. I made strawberry supernova, doctor sweet lips scrub cold, and clobberer shower melt. I loved them all! I now know what everyone is getting for Christmas! I will also be giving this book for gifts in the upcoming months to several of my friends who are crafty like me!
Sometimes, you just need to escape from the world. Everyone has their methods for relaxing and unwinding. I was recently introduced to the concepts of bath bombs. My favorite brand is absolutely amazing in scent, color, and the fact that once they dissolve, there is a surprise inside! This book was written by the two young women who create my favorite fizzers, the founders of Da Bomb bath fizzers.
Isabel and Caroline Bercaw were only 10 and 11 when they started making and selling their bath bombs and now, only 6 years later, employ over 150 community members through their business. This book showcases not only their creative flair, but their excitement for sharing the art of making bath products. And this book is gorgeous. There are so many bright colors and full page photographs that really heighten each bath bomb’s appearance. The recipes are surprisingly simple to follow, and they provide information about retailers who carry each of the materials needed, which is extremely helpful when crafting.
There are so many recipes included in this book, ranging through a variety of scents, colors, and shapes. My only criticism would be that the recipes all started to sound the same after a while, with very little variation between then. That being said, by having so many slight variations, it can lead to a spark of inspiration by the reader to go beyond what is presented within the pages.
I seriously cannot wait to sit down and make some bath bombs of my own.
*I would like to thank the publisher, author, and NetGalley for providing an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*
A few years ago I bought several bath bomb molds on a whim and started making my own. At first it took some trial and error, but I found a few recipes online that worked well. Fizz Boom Bath! Is full of interesting, fun, new bath bomb recipes to take my bath bomb making to the next level. What I really love about the book is that there are so many other do it yourself beauty product recipes in the book including bath jellies, hand scrubs, lotions, foot masks, ect. Most of these recipes have stuff that I have lying around the house to try out these fun recipes. Fizz Boom Bath! is an excellent resource for making beauty products at home. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys D.I.Y. or beauty products.
This is the story of two youn entrepreneurs with a zest for fun and a desire to share their bubbly goodness with others. The book features lots of great bath bomb, shower melt, and soap recipes with yummy kid-friendly scents. Would be a blast to grab this book to make bath stuff with your kids to use and give as gifts!
Confession: I am OBSESSED with bath and skin care products. OBSESSED. I don't wear that much makeup, but anything that is supposed to make my skin glow or enhance my (frequent) bathtime experience - sign me up. I've also actually tried the Bercaw sisters' products, thanks to OwlCrate including one of the bath bombs in a long ago box!
This book is fabulous. The writing is sometimes funny and always informative. All the details are there for the beginning maker, from choosing materials and supplies to specific recipes. There are options, the writers don't insist that you MUST do things a certain way, but leave plenty of opportunity to be creative in your own way. Also, the photos are amazing! Totally want to go get stuff to make my own bath bombs now.
While the first part of the book (after the materials and info section) focuses on bath bombs, with tons of recipes for all different scents and styles, the second part has recipes for many different kinds of body care products. Face masks (be still my heart), toners, steamers, lip balms, scrubs - nearly everything under the sun.
Highly recommend. Now excuse me while I run off to see what I own that can be used for a bath bomb mold...
The information was written well and beautifully displayed. I really liked the variety of bath products that this book contained and also like how each product could be expanded or changed to take in personal preferences. I will definitely be referencing this for myself and for gifts to friends who enjoy a nice bath product.
For someone who has never made bath bombs before, this book was a great place to start. The direction were straightforward and simple to understand with great pictures to accompany them. There are multiple resources for the reader beyond just the instructions. It should also be noted that the recipes all for creativity and customization of the reader to truly make their own.
I highly recommend this book for everything wanting to get started on making their own!
Have you been to that store that sells all of those absolutely gorgeous (and really expensive) bath bombs and fallen in love with all of the possibilities? I'm the mom of a beauty blogger, so I've been more than once -- and then bought my own bath bombs at the Dollar Tree.
The boys and I tried making our own once and came out with bath bomb brittle, which smelled good and made their skin soft but didn't fizz and foam. It's possible that if you want to make something that actually works, following the easiest looking recipe from Pinterest may not be the best way to do it...and that you might need some specialized ingredients.
Which is where Fizz Boom Bath! comes in.
I haven't had a chance to try any of the book's recipes yet, but I'm reeling from all of the gorgeous photos and possibilities. There are geodes and gender reveals and secret messages and one bath bomb for sore muscles...and then there are the masks and shower steamers and scrubs. Working your way through this book would be a lot of fun.
And did I mention that the book -- and da Bomb Bath Fizzers, the company that inspired it -- was written by two teenage sisters? The bath bombs they sell look even more amazing than the ones in the book. I'm going to have to try to make more soon....or to just break down and order some!
If you are sick of breaking the bank on store bought bath bombs, this is a great resource on how to make your own! And it doesn't just cover bombs, but also includes details on making bath fizzes, body scrubs, melts, skin creams, and other beauty products.
It covers everything you need to know, from equipment to ideas on how to finish products. This book is filled with color photographs and even lists resources for supplies. I highly recommend this to anyone wanted to get into homemade bath products.
**I received this copy via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review**
Beautifully photographed with interesting, informative, and witty writing makes for a fantastic combination. It is very apparent that both Isabel and Caroline enjoy and love what they do. There are enough details for someone just learning without being bogged down or overwhelmed. Not to mention, the authors give you some leeway on creation. (Which, admittedly, is one of my favorite things about this book other than the recipes themselves!) They do not demand or insist that you do things a certain way or use specific things. You are given the ability to be creative! Plus, this book shares more than just bath bomb recipes. You can also make other body and skin care products: lip balms, masks, scrubs, toners and so much more.
I would definitely recommend Fizz Boom Bath to anyone wishing to learn more about bath bombs and creating them!
I loved this book and plan on purchasing it. Easy recipes, and fun results. Makes you want to get the ingredients and get started.
I loved this!
I've always wanted to make my own bath bombs even though I don't have a bath anymore*insert sad face*. I couldn't try doing the bath bomb recipes because of that, but the instructions were clear . However, I did try the ones about body scrubs and face masks and they were fantastic!! But not only that, the presentation and photography were fantastic and made me enjoy, even more, the book! :D.
I love making homemade bath products. This book is awesome. It gives a ton of recipes for making all kinds of bath products, not just bath bombs. The instructions are clear and easy to read. Even the beginner can be a pro in just a few short minutes.
The recipes are easy to follow and most of the products can be found at stores we all go in daily like Walmart and the grocery store.
The products you can make from these recipes are great for personal use, giving as gifts, and even selling at craft fairs.
I received this book from the Author or Publisher via Netgalley.com and chose to leave this review.
A definitive guide for making your own bath bombs, body scrubs and much more.
This book is a delightful gem full of clear recipes, how to guides, pictures and stockists.
I absolutely love this book and plan to buy a print copy to keep on my shelf.
I look forward to trying my hand at making some of these simplistic but fabulous products.
What a fantastic book! Beautiful images and lots and lots of really creative, fun bath bomb projects to make. My little son and I had a lot of fun making them. So much fun that we will definitely be buying a copy of this book!
A great book that my daughter and I have had some fun practicing the recipes with. Although all the recipes are laid out with specific utensils, I found that the enthusiasm regarding the starting of making their bath bombs was clearly carried though and enabled the reader to see that these can be made not necessarily with the specific tools but using what moulds and tools that are available locally.
A great book that would appeal to young teen girls.
I didn't realize when I requested that I've actually purchased their bath bombs before. I even have a couple in my stash currently. haha. It made me enjoy it more knowing that I enjoy the things they make.
Good tips and suggestions where to get supplies, and what sorts of things to look for. Definitely some good ideas and one of these days I'd like to get around to trying them out.
The bath bombs and other beauty products were easy to make and I love that they were made with natural ingredients. The recipes are easy to understand and very straight forward. I like how colorful and elegant the products are and feel that they can pass for store quality items. This is a great book.
