Chantelle’s internship is coming to an end and she really needs to secure a job and the fact that she works at Granger Finance is not only a good look on her resume, it’s also the one thing that she hopes would propel her to an Analyst position.
The boss, Mr. Granger Carmont is handsome, but his playboy persona and aloofness makes him quite an interesting character, well, at least to Chantelle and her colleague Patsy. So, when Chantelle stays up late in the office and Granger needs help working on his next presentation- the two find themselves working together.
The plot is pretty simple and direct and from the beginning as a Reader I had an idea of how things would end up between the two.
I was taken in by the cover too and I’m glad to have read this courtesy of Netgalley.
The suspense is not fulfilling and I do love me some drama which makes me wonder just how entangled this relationship would be if Patsy did make a move on Granger and started spreading a vile rumor about Chantelle at the office. (Yes, I know, cliche of the very jealous friend, but somehow, that would have given me some kind of intensity that I feel this book needed.)
My final take on this book is that it is a short read and sometimes you need that burst of romance in a busy work day to lighten up your spirits.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for letting me read this book. It had the right formula, chemistry and characters to be a nice fun read, yet there was something lacking at times. Maybe it was how quickly Chantelle and Granger got together, or maybe it was how Chantelle wanted him to tell everyone his secret that made me question the consistency of the characters and their feelings.
Seriously, Neil? Definite tosser. Wish there'd been more of a comeuppance for him.
Glad it ended happily though, and that's all you need sometimes.
2.5-3 stars.
This is a VERY hot story between Granger who owns and runs his company and an intern, Chantelle. It takes place in England and Chantelle is from Paris but she wants to work for the company after her internship is over. She gets G's attention one night when she is working late and from their they get to know each other. But she needs to look for another job because her internship is ending very soon.
This is a very erotic story. Not a lot of plot exists because the two don't really talk alot. I did like both characters though I felt a longer book would have really given me more insight into their characters But if you are looking for a younger woman and older manhot book you will love this one.
This was a nice romance without that artificial drama that so many authors believe necessary nowadays.
It was a quick read with sympathetic characters.
The plot was direct though the whole book without any unexpected twists. There was never any doubt, that Chantelle and Granger would end up together.
Thank you Netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was a quick, no frills romance novel. Chantalle works as an intern in the hero's company and he invites her to dinner one night that she stays late at the office. Nothing impressive nor intriguing about the story. Just the same trite scenes and clichéd circumstances.
Another first time author for me. I don’t normally like third person POVs, with that said, I didn’t think this one was awful. It was good, not great. The premise wasn’t anything I haven’t read before. Although, there were some characters I could do without.
It’s hard not to get infuriated when you root for a couple only to have someone come in between them. Well, if they didn’t there wouldn’t be a book now would there?
The pace was pretty fast. Unexpectedly fast. The prose given third person was okay. The characters were okay. The book was just okay. I’d never infringe on a authors work because I know how extremely hard it is to write. But I honestly don’t know what else to say.
I’d give this author another shot. 3 stars from me. I received the ARC in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to the author, Netgalley and the publisher.
An executive and emp!oyee fast paced romance. Strong feelings and the love of a dog bringing these two people together. Culminating into a happy ever after ending.
Thanks to NetGalley and Matador for this advance review copy. The Executive Floor is a fast paced, steamy, romance that I very much enjoyed. Chantelle, an intern at Granger Finance, is stressing out over the fact that her internship is nearly over and she has yet to get a job. One evening, when she is working late, the head of Granger Finance calls her into his office to help her with an Excel spreadsheet. As an aside, I love the frustration with Excel in this book. We all get that! As Chantelle goes to help, one thing leads to another, and suddenly sparks are flying between the two. The two develop a romance and of course there is an ex-girlfriend around to complicate matters.
While the plot is fairly predictable, I enjoyed the characters and the fact that a dog is a main character in the story too! The sex scenes are brief and not overly descriptive which I appreciate. Chantelle embraces independence and feminism in that she won't let her love affair serve as a step up in her career. Too often in romance novels, we see a girl fall over and hardly function because of an attractive man. That is not the case here and to that I rejoiced!
Having one week left of her internship, Chantelle needs to look for a permanent job residence despite her wanting a position at Granger Finance. The last thing she expects is the sudden attention of her womanizing director, Granger. Making her an offer she can't refuse, the analyst finds her stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Overall, the relationship between the leads escalated a lot quicker than I anticipated. It literally took one day before she landed in bed with Granger even with her half-ass attempts of stating it was unprofessional and one week later, dropping the “L” word. The story left much to desire and it didn't really leave much of an impact. Just your regular average office romance (that obviously falls into the trope) about a sexy millionaire boss and their young naive employee.
Short read
It’s erotic but not a great deal of substance. If you are looking for a quick read this could be it.
I was provided with a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Chantelle, the intern, meets Graham, the CEO, in The Executive Floor. I decided to read this book because I wanted something light that didn't require me to think too much. Perfect! The story is well written overall. One problem, though, is how fast these two end up in bed. A little bit more of a wait to create some tension would have been better. The plot is predictable, but I expected it to be. No surprises here. I know how this story goes. They'll have a couple of obstacles to overcome then happy! It's fun and light hearted with some bits of sexy and charming. The main characters are adorable together and likeable mostly. If you want to read a little fluff and romcom, you will enjoy this book. Thanks to NetGalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review.
A typical story of intern falls for boss. While I enjoyed the storyline, the story fell a bit flat for me . The story overall was pretty predictable. An easy, quick read though.
Granger loved running his own company with millions of pounds worth if investments at his fingertips. Driving was a perfect way to unwind after a day of work. He had a big deal on the table, he couldn’t take his eye off the ball or his competitor could swoop in and steal the contract. He thought about Cynthia, she had ended up moving in because he had taken the easy way out and ignored what was happening . But recently he had looked around his apartment and realized how many of his things had been replaced with hers. He couldn’t ignore it any longer. He didn’t want a girlfriend . A confrontation with a spoiled rich girl was the last thing he wanted. Chantele’s internship was over in one week and she had been hoping to be offered a job at Granger Finance but she had been told there was no open spot. Chantele loved living in England. She hadn’t applied for other jobs as she had believed she would be offered a job at Granger Finance. Chantele thought Granger was hot but not her type. While Chantele was looking at him he looked up and their eyes locked before Chantele could look away. Chantele felt desire like she had never known before. Chantele stayed late at work one night to finish a spreadsheet she had been working on. Granger ended up needing her help to finish some work he was doing. He then took her out to eat for helping him and then they stopped at his apartment as She had left her laptop bag there when he had to take care of his dog Rocky before going out to eat. Chantele had fainted and Granger made Chantele stay the night. Rocky had ran up to granger’s room where he told chantele she was to sleep they end up having sex . Neither can seem to stay away from the other. Than he had to go to the US for about a week for the big deal. Chantele agreed to stay at his apartment and take care of rocky. Cynthia shows up and tells chantele she wouldn’t be needed to take care of Rocky as he was after all her dog and chantelle packed and left broken hearted.
I loved this book. It was a quick romantic love at first sight read. The author wrote this just so it didn’t bother me the quickness of the romance. I loved Chantele and Granger together and how they interacted. I loved the plot and pace and didn’t want to put this down. I finished this in one day. I also loved how Granger Granger had some problems with his work and Chantele figured them out for him. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I highly recommend it.
The Executive Floor by Belinda Wright is the story of Granger Carmont and Chantelle Moulier. Chantelle is a intern at Granger's company. One day when Chantelle ends up staying late to work she gets a encounter with Granger. This leads them to diner and a then on to a very hot interaction. Chantelle tries to avoid him after this but Granger isn't letting her get away. Enjoyed their office romance.
I really enjoyed this book it had a great storyline with likeable characters and you just hope there’s the happily ever after they deserve.....
Thanks to NetGalley and Matador for this advance review copy. The Executive Floor is a fast paced, steamy, romance that I very much enjoyed. While the plot is fairly predictable, I enjoyed the characters. The sex scenes are brief and not overly descriptive which I appreciate. However, their romance kind of came out of nowhere and I would've liked more progression before they went at it. A little bit more of a wait to create some tension would have been better.
I could not put this book down. I loved The story and all of the characters. If you like romance stories you will love this book.
ARC of The Executive Floor received from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
My first read by Belinda Wright & I really liked this author’s writing style
I was immediately drawn to the cover & brief synopsis!! Looked like it would be my kind of read & it certainly was 👍👍
Great book - it checked a # of my personal “boxes” 👍 for a really good office romance :
Billionaire/ Corporate setting
Age difference between characters
Smart - sexy heroine
Self made millionaire/ bachelor / playboy
Sexy chemistry
A bit of angst
HEA ❤️❤️
Granger is definitely a bit jaded bachelor- a self described workaholic who doesn’t even realize his latest girlfriend has moved into his place until she decides to move out - leaving him with her dog she no longer wants to care for …
Chantele is an intern working as an analyst at Granger Finance - with her contract ending & no job in site she needs to make a decision about “what’s next” … it certainly wasn’t a chance meeting with Granger.
This is a fairly quick read & the relationship developes quickly also between the two ! Loved these two characters together!
Great read - loved it !!
Enjoyed reading Chantelle and Granger love story. There’s an instant attraction when they meet. They are both not looking for a relationship however the more time they spend together their feelings change. There are secrets, misunderstandings that challenges their relationship and future. Recommended read
A cute book about romance and all. You will like it to admire it in a way unexpected romance is admired. Life is not a flower full of garden it is full of spins though taking the track initially it takes you to show how it can be changed though.
THE EXECUTIVE FLOOR by Belinda Wright is a contemporary, adult romance story line focusing thirty-five year old managing director of Granger Finance Granger Carmont, and twenty-three year old intern analyst Chantelle Moulier.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Granger and Chantelle) THE EXECUTIVE FLOOR follows the building but forbidden relationship between thirty-five year old managing director of London’s Granger Finance, Granger Carmont, and twenty-three year old intern analyst Chantelle Moulier. Chantelle Moulier’s internship at Granger Finance is about to expire but there are no potential prospects on the horizon. Working late finds our heroine face to face with her future, her boss, and the man with whom she will fall in love-Granger Carmont-a man of mystery but a man whose womanizing reputation precedes his introduction. Several late night rendezvous and a mutual like of dogs, and one dog in particular will pull Granger and Chantelle together as their attraction to one another grows and blossoms. Needing a dog sitter while away on overseas business, Granger offers Chantelle his place for a week, a week wherein Chantelle will discover not all is as it appears to be. What ensues is a series of misunderstanding, secrets and lies that will push Chantelle out of Granger’s life, secrets and lies that Chantelle has trouble accepting
The relationship between Chantelle and Granger is a workplace romance; employer and employee, forbidden relationship that Chantelle desperately tries to keep hidden from everyone at work. Granger’s need for Chantelle pushes our hero out of his comfort zone, a zone that is about to get complicated with the return of someone from his past The Sex scenes are limited but somewhat detached and non-emotional.
We are introduced to several of Chantelle’s co-workers, one of whom is aware of Chantelle’s relationship with our story line hero. Granger’s ex-girlfriend, desperate for attention, works her way back into his life, pushing out heroine our on her proverbial a$$.
THE EXECUTIVE FLOOR is a quick read; an engaging, entertaining but predictable story line of forbidden romance between the boss and employee. The drama and conflict is limited but spread throughout the story line premise. The romance needed a little more excitement in order for the reader to feel any real palpable sexual attraction.

This book was not spectacular, the plot was predictable and not really original. Still, I definitely enjoyed reading this book. The only comment that I really have is that some things really did not make any sense.
Great book. Typical billionaire man meets pretty girl love at first sight book.
Granger is the DM of a large firm and young beautiful Chantelle is the intern. It’s love at first sight. Of course something goes wrong...you know the storyline.
But this one has depth, there are a couple turns and twists, the writing is lovely and all and all it’s a nice easy read. I enjoyed myself.
I loved this story!
It is a feel good romance that can easily brighten anyone's day
It is very well written and it has good attention to detail and a great cast of characters.
Five stars from me for this one - very highly recommended!!
