Description

Sunshine is a charming story of a little girl and her new pony, Sunshine. Sunshine is sweet, sassy, and oh, so stubborn! It doesn’t take long before her owner finds out her little pony has a problem - she only likes to walk in a straight line! Over and over throughout the book Sunshine gets herself and her little owner in some pretty harrowing situations due to her "handicap"; but blinded by love, her owner refuses to see her cherished pony’s flaws and forgives her each time she gets them in a pickle. In her young owner’s loving eyes, Sunshine can do no wrong. Despite Sunshine’s handicap, she somehow teachers her owner right from left, even though she only likes to walk in a straight line!

Advance Praise

"Sunshine is a charming and surprising tale of the friendship between a girl and a stubborn pony. The artwork is gorgeous in a way that is both perky and classic. I like how the story is autobiographical and the surprise ending is so cute. " -M.L. Little, author of The Book of Secrets

Sunshine is a cute children’s book written by Morrene J. Hauser. The story focuses n a new pony that won’t follow the young rider’s directions. I read this digital Arc with a second grader, who had no trouble reading it independently. She enjoyed the story, both text and illustrations.

I wasn’t sure if she “got” the message or not so I ask a few questions when we finished. She did understand that Sunshine needed to learn to go in the direction asked but was stubborn. She also understood that the young girl needed guidance from her mother in helping to train Sunshine. When we finished this quick read, she asked to read it again. That is what every author would want to hear, I think.

The publisher through Net Galley provided an ARC. I have voluntarily decided to read and review, giving my personal opinions and thoughts.

Sunshine is a delightful story about a young girl’s first horse, Sunshine. In this beautiful story, we get to see the joy and excitement of getting such an incredible new friend. Together both the rider and the animal have to learn from each other to become a team.

The artwork is beautiful and quite breathtaking. The story would be a great fit for a child who is learning to read or for the family whose parents read to their children.

This is a story about a little girl and a pony. The pony is named Sunshine. When she rides Sunshine, she finds out her pony wants to go in a straight line, not left or right. Even though she loves Sunshine, she is determined to make Sunshine obey her. Will she be able to train Sunshine to do what she wants?

This illustrated book tells a story that shows what love and patience can do and its rewards. It also teaches a child about being responsible and not giving up. The artwork is lovely. This is a wonderful book to read!

Sunshine is a children’s story about a pony who doesn’t want to turn left or right. It’s a cute story that even includes a lesson for kids on how to tell the left hand from the right. The illustrations are very good. I would recommend this to parents of kids six and younger.

Thanks to Black Rose Writing and Netgalley for the free digital copy of this book. My review is voluntary.

This is a sweet story about a girl and her pony. She loves her pony and her pony loves her. That doesn't mean they don't have some problems...

Black Rose Writing and Net Galley let me read this book for review (thank you). It has already been published, so you can get a copy now.

Sunshine is a wonderful pony but she only goes straight. No turns allowed. When she goes for a ride with her Mom and there's a turn, she won't do it. Her Mom slaps her in the butt and the poor girl gets to ride a bucking bronc! After a few more slaps Sunshine gets the message. And the daughter has learned to ride an angry horse.

This is a cute book. The daughter can find no fault with her horse but she has to admit it's nice when Sunshine turns...
